You don't say whether you are trying to establish Bluetooth or USB connection or what Mac OSX you are running. I'm from the US, and there has been no alternative because Apple doesn't want people to be able to tether on the iPhone just yet. Apparently they will be releasing tethering to iPhone users here soon, but Apple took Netshare down because of that fact.
Now I don't know if there is anything else available in Paris, but you might want to contact Apple or your cell carrier and ask them, they would have a better idea about it.

Using Blackberry as a Modem for Mac Book Pro

Does anyone know how to use a blackberry for a modem on a Mac Book Pro, running 10.5.5? I can pair the device with the blackberry, but it will not connect. Some say it works in parallels and virtualbox with windows, but i dont even know how to do that. Can anyone help?

HT4783 I'm trying to learn how to use Airdrop between my wife's Mac and mine. We both have it, but this article did not help us learn HOW to share files. Yippeee that we can...but HOW?

My wife and I are trying to learn how to use Air Drop. The "tutorial" showed us where it is. It came up. I saw hers (Mac). She saw mine (Mac). But where to go after that is, apparently, in the cloud somewhere. The description says we can share files...which is nice...but nothing tells us HOW to share those files.

1. Open a new Finder window or use one that's already open
2. Click on Airdrop, press Shift+Command+R, or find "Airdrop" in the "Go" menu
3. Drag your file to the icon of the person you want to send the file to (if you have mountain lion, you can use the share button).
4. The other person has to click "save"
5. The file will send and appear in the receiver's downloads folder
In Mountain Lion, a new feature was added: the share button. It's a button with a picture of a box and an arrow jumping out of it. Click on it and the third (and last) option is "Airdrop" and clicking on it will allow you to send files over Airdrop without opening it in Finder.

How to use N9 as a modem for laptop

I dont have much experience with phones, so hopefully this is a simple answer. I want to connect my laptop to the internet using my N9. The guy at the shop said I just use the USB to plug the mobile into the laptop and away I go. I've tried this, but it isn't working. I read on a discussion board I need to download Nokia Link, which I did but still no internet access. Is there something I'm missing?

How to use an external drive with 2 Macs?

Using an external drive for LR 5.4 files and can download and view without any issues on my MacBook. However, when the same drive is attached to my iMac I cannot download or view any files on the external drive that were added after March of this year. Any ideas on how to go about resolving this issue?

The following screenshot might be helpful. It shows where in Lr preferences you can configure which catalog Lr uses as the default. If you need to direct it to an external drive then use the 'Other' option to point to this drive then next time Lr launches set it back 'Load most recent catalog'

A pdf form i created in windows using acrobat 9 pro with some javascript works fine on windows but doesn't work in mac OS. Can anyone please guide me how to rectify this problem?

I created the pdf forms in acrobat in Windows and i did use the javascript for calculation purpose and on Preview on Mac the calculation is just not happening at all. I also used radio buttons which work fine on windows but on Mac, the tick marks show but the javascript associated with radio buttons is not working at all. Is there a solution to this issue? How to use one monitor with two Power Macs

I searched this forum and was unable to find an answer. Although I believe it's probably here.
Nevertheless, I have a Power Mac G5 and a rarely used Power Mac G3. I'd like to share the G5's VGA Accusync 120 CRT monitor with the G3. I know there is a way to switch the monitor between computers without pulling plugs in and out of the machines.
Does anyone have any specific switch I could buy to solve this issue. I don't care so much for picture quality for the G3. But I don't want to compromise picture quality for the G5.

You're looking for what's called a KVM (Keyboard, Video, Mouse) switch.
This one should do what you're looking for. I've not used it, but it does VGA switching like you want and is inexpensive.

How to use a specific windows software on Mac

Hi all,
I have (and love) a new Macbook Air, having switched from years of PC use.
Ran into a hiccup as I do a few hours of teaching a week though a company called Talkbean (http://tutor.talkbean.com/displayEng.do?cmd=siteMain) and they have specific software I have downloaded....which I now find it only compatible with windows.
I've read through other topics and see that using boot camp (and other programs) I could also run windows on my MBA....but I'd prefer not to do that if I can avoidit - I don't need anything else other than this piece of software a few hours a week. Also don't fancy purchasing windows after just forking out for a new laptop!
The likes of Crossover and Virtual box look more appealing, but seem to be aimed at gaming (maybe I'm wrong!) and unsurprisingly the software I need is not on their lists. I'm struggling to figure it out myself. Would one of these programs be suitable for using this piece of software?

CrossOver is a program that lets you run some Windows software withhout installing Windows. The emphasis is on some. At their website Crossover rates the supported software on a scale from Bronze to Gold - if the program you need to run is supported at the Gold standard you will probably be okay. Silver and Bronze ratings means the rated Windows software will run but with glitches or even missing functionality. (Silver being better support than Bronze, obviously.)
Virtualization solutions such as VirtualBox (or the more capable and feature laden Parallels Desktop and VMWare Fusion) let you install another operating system (and software) to use at the same time as you use your Mac software. It is a nifty solution and while virtualization isn't quite as fast as running an OS totally native (BootCamp) the speed hit isn't all that significant and affects graphics rendering more than anything else.
I'm an IT instructor and software trainer and about 80% of this work involves Windows software. I do it using a Mac computer running Windows in Parallels Desktop. Apple says that you HAVE TO PUBLISH your calendar. So I think that it isn't shared by default.
Check if you calendar is shared or not.
So I think that you son isn't able to sync your calendar, because you need 'account informations' to sync/connect an iPhone with a calendar.
And you SYNC your data and don't make backups on time capsule?
Because if you make backups from your mac and if you have protected your mac-account with a passwort, he can't access your data.

Sorry, but you must have a credit card, or debit card to make iTunes/ App store purchases, even if they are free. This is due to the fact it is online.

If the drive or partition is used for Time Machine backups(or as a Mac OS X boot volume), you need to install MacDrive on the PC. Otherwise, format it as MS-DOS or exFAT.
