Hello nokia user, I am using nokia e71, but would like to know can I use it as webcam for skype?

How does one use the built-in webcam online? My iMac's webcam can be accessed through Photo Booth, but only, it appears, to take photos or brief movies. I've searched this forum, but don't find how one can use the webcam online such as in Skype. A program called iSight is mentioned in several posts, but my year-old iMac doesn't have that program. You can use Skype with your iMac and iSight.
Go here, download Skype
The Skype application will be installed to your Applications folder. Launch Skype. You will need to create a username and password. Once you have logged into Skype from the Menu Bar at the top of your screen click Skype/Preferences and selec the Video tab. Click the pop up menu where you see: Camera and select: Built-in iSight

I would like to connect a Genius webcam instead of the built in camera as to get better capture angles. Could intall Genius soft but the images still come from the built in camera. Tried to disable built in camera but enable Genius camera, but no images was shown.

What applications did you use to use the other external webcam?
Generally if more then one device was installed you have to choose and activate the right one.
The same happens if more printers are installed on OS. You have firstly to activate one and assign it as default.
Check if you can mark your external installed webcam as default webcam.

I'm assuming you've checked preferences and the webcam does or does not show up as a choice? Probably the disc that you have has MS drivers only. If so, you might consider the above link/product.

Use a Mac OS X Compatible Webcam like one of those shown in the linked article instead.

The cheap & easy way is to just drag the app to the Trash.
If you want to get all of the associated files use an app deleting app like the free AppCleaner;

Thanks for your post. Vision Assistant is a good software package to prototype your system, but it does not give you access to all Vision methods. LabVIEW is much more powerful allowing full access to Vision. You may want to use Vision Assistant to play with the algorithms (you can use your mouse to set regions of interest, etc) and then once you find the methods and parameters that work, implement the code in LabVIEW.

Lastly make sure that your E71 is in "PC Suite" mode NOT "Data Transfer" mode, go to Menu > Connectivity > USB > USB connection mode.

Hi, I am new to labVIEW. I have a project that it requires me to develope a application to detect various types of baby crying using labVIEW.The hardware we use will be webcam or kinect xbox 360. The system for my computer is windows 7. I used to try to create a threshold frequency to detect baby crying,but it not work well. So I want to ask what else method should I use to develop this application that can differentiate baby crying with other kind of sound( like normal talk, music...) correctly? As I just start learning labVIEW, hope the method to be easy to understand. Thanks.

This is not really a LabVIEW question, but a signal processing question. Do you have a set of crying sounds in order to be able to calibrate whatever algorthm you are trying to implement?

I have a HP Touchsmart 130-1205 (i think) and I can get the built in webcam to work perfectly fine in Skype - fantastic. But is there any way I can just use it to record videos? Any help would be MUCH appreciated.

Is the image that you are getting a RGB one? Use color plane extraction and then use a binary threshold to convert it into a binary image. You can also directly use a color threshold and convert a rgb (color) image to a binary image.
