How to use Elements 7 like CS5.1

Hello all,
I am an Architecture student, and have been trained on Photoshop CS5.1. If I want to merge 2 images together, or add an image to another, I open one JPEG with PS, then I reduce the program and open second JPEG with PS. Then PS pops up from the bottom bar with both photos open in 2 different tabs at the top left. My wife got PS Elelments7 and I'm trying to teach her what I have learned (she's having fun and learning with landscape photos). The problem is, when she opens an image with Elements, reduces the program, then opens the second image, it just replaces the first. Is there a setting I'm not aware of, or does Elements just not do that?

Pse 7 doesn't use tabs. Your probably in what is called Maximize Mode.
If you click on the middle button as below the images will open like what cs5 calls floating documents.
You can also look in the project bin and see the open files.

That's not what I meant. I know how to send a text, but when I try to insert and emoji the same alert comes up.

How to use elements in .css file with javascript in the jsp

I have a jsp in which i need to show some links with the background colour.The links depends on certain conditions which is known.But the requirement is that the background color should be grey and white alternatively. I could have hardcoded the background color with the link. But the problem is that all the links are not visible to all users. The background color is defined in the .css file. I need to check the background color for the previous link. I am declaring a boolean within a jsp and then verifying the value of that boolean( in the javascript within the same jsp) so that i could know the bckground color for previous link.but i am not able to use the element in the .css element in that javascript which is having if-else loop.It's showing an error when i tried doing this. So can some one help me out how can this be done.

Thanks for your tip. I've applied this example to my app. Tree is working now, but this is a little problem - on each expand/collapse and click on treeItem the onAfterRendering() method called. It means that the complete rerender of tree executed which looks not good. How I can avoid this?

How to use field validators, like an EmailValidator, in a Flash Catalyst project?

After making a contact form in Flash Catalyst, I added an EmailValidator in Flash Builder.
Unfortunately, the validation error message is not visible: only the outline of the message box and the red outline around the input field.
Does someone has some tips or suggestions how to make the error text visible?

The issue is that Flash Catalyst uses the Wireframe Theme. Validators display in this fashion under that theme. What you need to do, once you are done with the project, take it back into Flash Builder, and change the Theme. This can be done under Project > Properties > Flex Theme > Spark

How to use DPS features like Folio Overlays while exporting to SWF?

I'm creating an interactive magazine in InDesign, it's been decided that the magazine will be exported to SWF and uploaded to our company website for viewing by the public. I want things like slideshows and scrollabe text frames. I saw that InDesign had an update to include some DPS features like the Folio Overlays, so I applied a Slideshow overlay and a Scrollable Frame overlay but neither of them seem to work after I export to SWF. I still want to have slideshows and scrollable frames, how can I still have them while exporting to SWF?

DPS is for mobile devices through Adobe’s Digital Publishing Suite. The reason SWF is dead is because it’s pretty much incompatible with mobile devices. If you want to go to the web and keep things interactive you really need to be looking HTML5 / CSS3 type of websites. In5, which I mentioned in my earlier response will give you quite bit of help in going from InDesign to web, but I would strongly suggest you take a look at Muse if you’re not comfortable with HTML and CSS.

When/How to use - "search" parameter type in parameter like other types.

We recently upgraded BI Publisher to 10.1.3.4. I saw new parameter type "search" in parameter section, when creating report. whats the use of it? How to use it ? like other parameter type Text, Menu,Hidden, Date.
I couldn't find any help or release notes on this !

I started looking into this parameter type when our drop-down for customer numbers went from 13,000 (manageable) to 45,000 (completely unmanageable).
I imagine this is supposed to mimic the effects of a "Long List" type LOV in Oracle Applications (as I had inquired about in [this thread|http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=895521&stqc=true|Large List of Values (LoV) hangs. Is there an equivalent for a long list?]), but performance-wise, "Search" does not seem to be any more efficient that using the "Menu" type LOV. Even with the help of having a partial string with a wildcard to match, the "Search" still takes too long to pull up to be of any use to us.

Please check whether the priority of the element with which the fast formula is attached has a priority higher than the Transport_Allowance. If not then cahange the priority of the element to a prriority higher than Transport_Allowance.

In the same place you would for any regular SELECT statement
SELECT TO_CHAR(...),
       TO_NUMBER(...)
FROM random_table
WHERE TO_CHAR(...) = col1
   AND TO_NUMBER(...) = col2
username and password are the results of the SQL statement. I'm guessing l_xmldoc is the input? There is not need to write something so simple as XQuery so what is your larger goal? If you provide a clearer example and question, we can help you better.
