How do I setup and use the airport express as a wireless extender ?
I have a netgear dg384g wireless router, connected via a wire to a imac.
The router has a wireless sid on it called "ebony".
Upstairs I have a mac mini ( intel 1.6GHz ), which I would like to connect to the wireless router network.
Unfortunateley the mac mini seems to have a wireless range of about 10cm !! Everything else ( an Apple tv, imac, pc laptop, wii, gameboys ) works with the wireless network from upstairs apart from the mac mini.
What I want to do is place the airport express upstairs and connect the mac mini to it, either wirelessley or wired.
I have run through the airport express setup using the imac and the mini using all combinations of options with no success.
The install and instructions seems very orientated to assuming that you have an airport extreme.
Does anyone know how to setup the express as a wireless extender (WDS) on a netgear wireless router ?

First, I would ascertain, whether or not, the Netgear supports DD-WRT or if the manufacturer's supports WDS on this model. If the answer is no for either of these, then there would be little chance of success trying to create a WDS between these two.
Unfortunately, I have not come across any specific WDS set up instructions between these two devices on the Internet to offer, as most likely, no one has been successful in making this work.

I have a tower and recently a laptop at work. The tower is connected to our local network with an ethernet cable and the laptop with wireless. So, the internet connection is fine for both.
I was hoping to use my time capsule to do time machine backups on my laptop. Do you have any advice on how to configure this? I do not want to use the time capsule to extend my Internet, as I believe my work I.T. would prefer to handle all access to their network.
Perhaps there is some documentation about doing this that you could point me to? I have not been able to find it.

Your original question was How to use Time Capsule for wireless back-up but not Internet?
There is no reason for you to connect the tower....or anything else...using Ethernet if your goal remains that same as you stated.
If you are asking if you can backup the Tower using Ethernet, and not wireless, then you can connect the tower to one of the LAN <-> ports on the Time Capsule....not the WAN port.
Yes, it appears to work without plugging into my tower.

I just have to select the network that it created. Of course, I have no access to the Internet while this is happening and it can not auto backup, unless I am on that wireless signal.
As I stated, that is the downside to trying to back up without an Internet connection. You have to establish another network...and backup over that network.
If you are asking if you can stay connected to the work network while also backing up to your non-Internet "private" network, that is not possible.

If you have more than one keyboard active, you may be using a different one than you want. Use the "globe" key to make sure your virtual keyboard is set to Japanese Romaji or Japanese Kana. Which one do you use?
On the hardware keyboard, use apple/command plus space to switch between different keyboard layouts which may be active.

Using X3500 as a Wireless Extender DHCP issue iPhone 6

Hopefully a simple question with a simple answer.
Background:
I've transitioned away from my ADSL ISP to a cable provider (VirginMedia). My new ISP comes with a cable modem (SuperHub 2 ac) and I've connected the two devices together to extend my home wireless network. The cable modem is The two routers are physically remote from each other - connected via just their Ethernet ports - via power-line technology (Devolo dLAN 1200+). The two routers have the same broadcast SSID albeit on separate channels.
Issue:
All devices in my house, laptops tablets, phones roam between the two wi-fi zones seamlessly *except* the iPhone 6 (iOS8.1), this works on the cable modem wi-fi - but not on the X3500 wi-fi. I also have an iPad Mini 2 (also iOS8.1) which also works - so rightly / wrongly I've ruled out iO8.1 as the issue. Oddly the iPhone 6 connects to the x3500 but doesn't obtain an IP address (the cable modem is the DHCP server). Even setting a static IP address doesn't help.
Observation(s):
If the X3500 is setup as a DHCP server, the iPhoen connects (and gets an IP address), but then the default gateway is incorrect (gatway is the IP address of the X3500 not the remote cable modem). I can't find anywhere to specify a default gateway in the setup.
Question
I'm beginning to think this is an issue with the iPhone 6 (knowing all other devices work correctly), but I just want to make sure I'm configuring the X3500 correctly. I'm specifically interested in the whether I'm using the right "Mode"ADSL / Ethernet. I've tried "Bridged Mode Only" (ADSL) and "Automatic DCHP Only" (Ethernet) but neither seem to resolve the issue that the iPhone 6 is having.
any suggestions on how to resolve / troubleshoot would be most welcomed.

Yes, there's a way for you to override the IP Address. It is on Router Address under Network Setup on the Basic Setup tab. If I'm not mistaken, one end of the Ethernet cable should be connected to the regular Ethernet port of the cable modem and the other end to the cable port of the X3500.
But if it's just the iPhone that won't connect to the X3500, it might be okay to retain the current configuration of the router, but try adjusting the wireless security mode or set the wireless channel to 11 and observe what happens.

Using Express without a Wireless Card?

I would like to use my Express only to stream music from iTunes on my desktop to my stereo. I do not have a wireless card. I thought I could do this but am unable to configure the Express. It is plugged into my network and has a gree light. My desktop is plugged into the same network. However, the Setup Assistant can not find the Express.
Any ideas?

I believe your computer must have a wireless card in order to setup an Airport Express base station.
I would recommend either having a friend with wireless in a laptop come over and help you set it up. You might also be able to find a friendly store that might help you out.
The settings in the Airport Express stay when you unplug it.
Edit: Nevermind. I see someone found instructions on using the Airport Administration utility.

Now a field value like “7.5.3.10BQF”, “7.8.2.XFP”, and another dynamic LOV depends on this value to filter, so we want to trip off all trailing non-numeric characters (including whitespace and periods), for example to “7.5.3.10BQF”, we will filter LOV using "%7.5.3.10%",for "7.8.2.XFP", we will filter LOV using "%7.8.2%".
But I don't know how to write groovy expression to implement this function.
Any advice will be great help.

The third syntax you used is correct i.e.

Alternatively you can use
DW_CRF.PKG_LPS_CRF_LOAD_TRANS.sp_load_target(''LOAD_CRF'', ''LOAD_LOAN_TRAN'', CURRENT_TIMESTAMP, '''');
all the other calls give syntax errors that are expected. The third call is giving an application error which you will need to look into (maybe starting at "DW_CRF.PKG_LPS_CRF_LOAD_TRANS", line 958). One thing that may help clarify things is if you were to switch to naming your parameters e.g. target_name=>''LOAD_CRF'' since that helps clarify exactly what parameter is called with which value.

I have a flat Material table ("Material_table" with a Mat_ID) and a main table that stores MAT_ID and (e.g) Manufacturer. I DO NOT want to use a lookup table (since I don`t want to use the drop-down boxes), but I want to create a (simple) validation that checks, if the MAT_ID that is entered into field MAT_ID in the main table is contained in the Material table.
This serves as a simple "foreign key" check, checking if a value into a table can be found in another table.
Can anyone post the code that has to be written into the validations-Editor.
The expression in the main table could look something like:
Logically:
Check IF (MAT_ID IS_CONTAINED_IN(Material_table[MAT_ID]) then return true
or something like:
HAS_ANY_VALUES(MAT_ID,Material_table[MAT_ID])

Now that I have setup my home network with static addresses (router, mini1, mini2 and PC) in the way I want, (big thanks to BDAqua http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1271635&tstart=0) I would like to understand some more advanced network concepts.
I would like to change the network so that I use both the wireless connection and the built-in ethernet connection at the same time in my Mac mini1. I would like to connect my PC to my Mac mini by using the wired ethernet connection so that I reach the Internet from my PC as well. I would also like to be in control of all the addresses therefore I want to assign the addresses manually.
The question: What addresses should I use between mini1 and PC? Should I use the same wireless address space as I already use between the wireless router and the other computers (router: 192.168.1.1, mini1: 192.168.1.101, mini2: 192.168.1.103) or should I use something totally different like 10.X.X.X? What should I put in ethernet connection "Router"-field, the same as in Airport (192.168.1.1)? What about DNS, same as in Airport?

If I understand this correctly, you wish your Mini to perform Internet Sharing for your PC, correct!?
If so you'll pretty much have to let the Mini handle DHCP & NAT on the Ethernet port. You also want to be sure Airport is dragged to the top of Network>Show:>Network Port Configurations, that's what position the Mini will use 1st for Internet itself.
On the Mini turn on both Web Sharing & Internet Sharing. The PC once connected will have the Mini's Ethernet IP as it's Gateway addy.

I recently purchased a kinamax high power wireless-n USB 2.0 adapter to boost my wifi signal. The data range is 802.11n. The only problem is that I can't use the adaptor. I understand that you want to control pins on your serial port using LabVIEW. Since you are using Windows XP, only LabVIEW version 7.0 will be able to control the pins. The pins can be controlled by modifying the values of the access registers that windows associates with each pin. If you are using LabVIEW 7.0, then the VI's located on the Funtions >> Advanced >> Port I/O palette should help you assign values to the proper pins.

The Human Task should have a start deadline by which the Task has to be started. Or otherwise some other Task will run. I did this with a boundary Event StartDeadlineIsCriticalExeption and an offset for the start deadline at the task.
but this is a fixed value now i want to modify that with expression function .

We can use a dateTime value to set completion deadline dynamically. I guess we can do the same for start deadline also.
I am using the dateTime(String val) inbuilt function for this.
