How to use external functions in check constraints
I created my own function:
create or replace
function if_num_get_num (inval in varchar2)
return number
is
dummy number;
Begin
dummy := to_number(inval);
return dummy;
exception
when others then return null;
end;Can I use it in table check constraint?
When I use standard function INSTR everything is OK.
ALTER TABLE A_S
ADD CONSTRAINT A_S_CHK1 CHECK
(INSTR(NAZWA_ZA, ':') > 0)
ENABLE;but when I try to create it with my function:
ALTER TABLE A_S
ADD CONSTRAINT A_S_CHK1 CHECK
(IF_NUM_GET_NUM(INSTR(NAZWA_ZA, ':')) > 0)
ENABLE;I get a message "Invalid column IF_NUM_GET_NUM"
Read the restrictions.
>
Restrictions on CHECK Constraints
A CHECK constraint requires that a condition be true or unknown for every row of the table. If a statement causes the condition to evaluate to false, then the statement is rolled back. The condition of a CHECK constraint has these limitations:
* The condition must be a boolean expression that can be evaluated using the values in the row being inserted or updated.
* The condition cannot contain subqueries or sequences.
* The condition cannot include the SYSDATE, UID, USER, or USERENV SQL functions.
* The condition cannot contain the pseudocolumns LEVEL or ROWNUM.
* The condition cannot contain the PRIOR operator.
** The condition cannot contain a user-defined function.*

I have coped some of them on forum because I dont have any idea how interpret themA discussion about the correctness of questions in an exam is on topic for these forums, though just asking for answers to exam questions should be discouraged.

Which statements are true regarding subqueries?
a. The ORDER BY clause can be used in the subquery
b. A subquery can be used in the FROM clause of SELECT statment
c. If the subquery returns NULL, the main query may still return result rows.
Correct answers according to author: a,b
All three are true, so the question is wrong. Aside from all the people getting answers to these things off the internet the fact that the questions try so hard to be clever that they actually end up being wrong instead is what makes these certifications mostly worthless. Anyone would be better served spending the time reading the documentation.

Please help in this regard,
ThanksHi,
As far as I know there is no FPRINT32 function in the Tuxedo COBOL interface.
The ATMI COBOL Function Reference for the latest Tuxedo 11.1.1.2.0 release at
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E18050_01/tuxedo/docs11gr1/rf3cbl/rf3cbl.html shows FINIT, FINIT32, FVFTOS, FVFTOS32, FVSTOF, and FVSTOF32 as the only supported COBOL interface functions related to FML.
COBOL is better suited to dealing with the fixed record structure of views than with the variable record format of FML buffers. The COBOL interface offers functions to initialize and FML buffer and to convert an FML buffer to and from a VIEW so that preexisting services taking FML buffers as input or output parameters can be called, but the expectation is that the COBOL program will conver the FML buffer to a VIEW before accessing it.
It is possible to call the Tuxedo C interface Fprint32() function from COBOL using standard interlanguage calling conventions. Also, you may want to check with other developers on your project to see if someone may have already implemented such a function.

ATP information
Functionality
Using this function module, you can determine the receipt quantity still available for a particular material in a certain plant according to ATP logic (MRPII).
The availability check is carried out on transferring the material number, the plant and the input table (WMDVSX). The scope of the check, that is, which stocks, receipts and issues are to be included in the check is defined by the combination of checking group (material master) and cheking rule. In the function module, the system uses the checking rule defined in Sales & Distribution (A). You can overrule this checking rule by using an interface or a user-exit (exit_saplw61v_001). A similar procedure is also valid for the plant parameters. The customer number in the user-exit means that the plant selection can be controlled via the customer. If no plant parameters are given via the interface, the system uses the parameter 'WRK' saved in the user's fixed values.
The results of the availability check are recorded in the output table (WMDVEX). This table contains dates and available receipt quantities (ATP quantities). The results of the check depends on the following entries:
If no date and no quantity is transferred, the system displays the ATP situation from today's date into the future as the result.
If only a date and no quantity is transferred, the system displays the ATP situation from the corresponding date as the result.
If both a date and a quantity are transferred, the system calculates the availability situation for the quantity specified.
In the last two cases, the parameter 'DIALOGFLAG' is supplied. This can result in the following:
' ' (blank) <=> quantity completely available
'X' <=> only partial quantity available or not available at
all
'N' <=> Material not included in the availability check
(Material not relevant to the availability check)
The system also displays the end of the replenishment lead time (ENDLEADTME).

How to use the function module ....
hi
how to use the function module ssf_function_module_name in smartformsHi..
If you are using this Function module, you can get the generated function module name of smartform dynamically. It is good progrmaming practice to get the fucntion module name dynamically because there might be some problems if you are hard coding in program.
This will return the name of the function module and then from the exporting parameters you can use the fucntion module name to pass parameters to Smartforms.
Check this link.I am expalining here how to use this function module.

Hi, I want to know how to use external tables? The procedure i follow for SQL*Loader in my shell script is:
Call the sqlldr
Check return code
If return code = 2. get count of records from bad file and exit.
If return code != 0 and != 2 then exit as fatal error
If return code = 0 then continue.
But i don't understand how to use external table as it is not invoked and does not have a return code.Hello,
What do you mean alogrithim, do you mean to invoke external table as you invoke sqlldr? You can generate external table script from sqlldr and use it to load data but you might have to modify the table name and datafile name . You can see if any bad file generated from sqlldr and if yes then you can generate external table (using sqlldr) or based on your bad file. May be if you can list what exactly you want in bullet points, then it will be easier to suggest you.

How to use standard function keys as custom keys
how to use standard function keys as custom keys.
i have encountered that problem while developing a screen, there i'm supposed to use standard function key F2 ( which actually meant for choose) for clearing the screen fields where the cursor is present and f1 for saving data that entered in screen fields, etc...
kindly help me out.Hi ,
Solution to use SAP reserve function keys F1 .. F4 (mostly this requirement comes up for RF screens) can be acheived by assigning your new Function code using the Menu path Utilities --> F key Consistency in the Menu Painter (SE41) . Once you assign your cutom function code to the standard Fn keys the only remaining step is to make sure that you set a curson on any of the field on sceen by using the Key Word "SET CURSOR" .
If you dont use the key word SET CURSOR in the PBO of the screen then you might not see any response for F4.

How to use SQL functions in the queries
hey guys i wanna know how to use SQL functions in the queries is it possible or not .
Hi,
Wat exactly that set values are?
those from sql query?
How to use count():
The COUNT() function returns the number of rows that matches a specified criteria.
SQL COUNT(column_name) Syntax
The COUNT(column_name) function returns the number of values (NULL values will not be counted) of the specified column:
SELECT COUNT(column_name) FROM table_name
SQL COUNT(*) Syntax
The COUNT(*) function returns the number of records in a table:
SELECT COUNT(*) FROM table_name
SQL COUNT(DISTINCT column_name) Syntax
The COUNT(DISTINCT column_name) function returns the number of distinct values of the specified column:
SELECT COUNT(DISTINCT column_name) FROM table_name
The IN function helps reduce the need to use multiple OR conditions.
The syntax for the IN function is:
SELECT columns
FROM tables
WHERE column1 in (value1, value2, .... value_n); -
