How to use facebook on imac

hello,
i have just registerd at facebook is there a app o use on imac?

You can access to Facebook on the iMac opening http://www.facebook.com, but you can also use the Facebook settings available in Mountain Lion. To do it, open System Preferences > Mail, Contacts and Calendars, and follow the steps to add a Facebook account. After that, you will receive notifications in the Notification Center, and you will also be able to send photos without having to open the Facebook site

Use it how?  The remote app?  That is downloaded from the app store on your phone.  If you want to use Mirroring there are a wealth of sites showing you how to set that up.  I would stay way from mirroring/AirPlay though.  They are horribly un-reliable and bug ridden.  Especailly over WiFi.

  • How to use Lightroom from iMac and Macbook Air so that I can edit any/all photos in my catalog?

I have lightroom catalog setup on my desktop (iMac).  But, I would like to edit photos from my new MacBook Air when I have the free time.  How do I set this up so that any edits done on my laptop sync with my desktop catalog?

    Craig:
In the future you might look into an external FW hard drive from which you can operate the library.  Then, if you need to move it to another machine just unplug the drive and and plug it in to the other Mac.  For the MacBook Air you'd probably want a small (physical size) buss powered drive that would be an easy travel mate.
For future projects, particularly books, consider creating a separate library for it.  You can assemble the photos you want in it in an album in your primary library and use iPhoto Library Manager to copy that album to the project library.  They are often small enough that then can be copied to a flash drive for transfer to other Macs.

    Hi,
    I am getting the this:
Hardware test does not support this machine.
When I bought This computer it came with OSx 10.4.7
Few weeks later Came out OSx Leopart 10.5 And the store gave me a update disk as a gift.
When Osx snow Leopard came out I bought it.
So my machine is ruining with Snow Leopard 10.6.8
When I try to run Hardware test from Snow leopard, nothing happens, also nothing happens to update disk. It only load hardware test from the first Cd that came with the computer. OSx 10.4.7
So After it load, it asked to choose the language and O got the this:
Hardware test does not support this machine.

Open Applications and the the Utility folder and then Keychain Access app. In there you will find all the usernames and password that have been saved. For some reason it is not saving those passwords and or not using the ones that have been saved.
This is fairly common with Mac OS X as it happens for no apparent reason just all of a sudden.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
If your iMac has got Mini-DVI, you have a 17, 20 or 24-inch iMac that doesn't support Target Display. Late 2009 and Mid 2010 27-inch iMacs, and iMacs with Thunderbolt can be used as external displays. Read > http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11302?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
If your old iMac doesn't support Target Display mode, you can use ScreenRecycler to use your old iMac as an extended display for the new iMac. The only thing you need is that both Macs are connected to the same network

  • Okay so I set up my Time Capsule already and is now backing up 2 of my iMacs. Works great. What I want to know is how to use the TC to directly store files? I want to do this to delete some files but still have them on the TC for future reference..

Okay so I set up my Time Capsule already and is now backing up 2 of my iMacs. Works great. What I want to know is how to use the TC to directly store files? I want to do this to delete some files on iMac 20inch but still have them on the TC for future reference..eg some movies on iTunes. I want to directly save them on the drive so I can delete them from iTunes and gain some storage. (Ps on iMac 20 inch (it's almost full - 320 GB) when I enter time machine, a tab comes up on finder which reads "Time Machine backups" it's able to be ejected like a disc or a connected device. On the iMac 20 inch, I dragged some files onto there as if using it like a hard drive. Is this the correct method? Then I went to my 27inch iMac and saw the "Time Machine Backups" hoping to see the files I dragged from the 20inch iMac. But the files were not there except a folder that said "Backups.backupdb". Can someone help me?

It's not a good idea to use a network disk for both Time Machine backups and other things.  By design Time Machine will eventually consume all the space on its output disk, which will then cause problem for your other files.  I'd store those other files on an external disk connected to the Time Capsule.  The problem with that is that Time Machine will only back up files that are local to your Mac.  That means that you'll only have one copy of the files on or attached to your Time Capsule.
By the way, you've been misled by poor field labeling on this forum into typing a large part of your message into the field intended for the subject.  In the future just type a short summary of your post into that field and type the whole message into the field below that.

  • How to use the second display for installation OS in my vertical lines iMac

My 17" iMac display is full of vertical lines, it is unuseable. Does anyone know how to use the second display for Mac OS X or disable the first display for installation Mac OS x ?

Go to: *System Preferences > Displays* and select the Arrangement tab, then relocate your Menu bar by dragging it to the other display.
Unfortunately there is no Hardware or Software switch to turn off the iMac's Internal Display.

  • How does display sharing work? (i.e. a MBA using a 27" iMac as ext display)

I have a 27" iMac, and am considering a MacBook Air: one consideration in choosing the MBA (which has a smaller screen that I would choose) is that if i can use the iMac at home as ext displaym then I can live when travelling with the smaller MBA display (vs. a 15" MBP).
However, when I hook the MBA to the iMac, how do I toggle the iMac display between iMAc and the MBA?
Also, does hooking them up via MiniDP mean that the iMac keyboard and mouse will control the MBA? Or will I need to sit at my desk with two of each?
    Thanks

    Type ⌘ F2

You can keep your MacBook Air open and use the iMac as display #2. You will use the MacBook Air's keyboard and trackpad (or mouse) to control the machine.
You can keep the MacBook Air plugged in and closed, connect an external keyboard and external mouse/trackpad and run the MacBook Air in "closed clamshell" mode. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3131?viewlocale=en_US
The hardest part is finding a mini display port to mini display port cable. In theory, you may be able to use the iMac's video and audio with a MacBook Air. No guarantees on that. You will need the latest spec on the cable and just finding a cable may be a challenge.
