How to use fieldtab with Function Module F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST

Hi,
I'm using the function module F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST to build a matchcode in a selection screen parameter.
The internal table that I use have 3 fields:
        GROUPID like APQI-GROUPID,
        CREDATE like APQI-CREDATE,
        STATE type string.
STATE is not in ABAP dictionary, so the function doesn't show this field. I need this field having field label 'STATUS'
I have tried to use table FIELDTAB, but I cannot resolv the problem.
Can anyone help me?

Or you can pass the QM number to the Workflow and use GENERICINSTANTIATE Method of Business Object SYSTEM to instantiate the QM Business Object.

I have a ztable 'ZSUBTEST' with 2 fields DEPTID and DEPNAME and ticked "change document" for data element.
I have created the above change doc write fn module. I am trying to insert a new reocrd into table.
How to use ZSUBTESTCHG_WRITE_DOCUMENT so that even if i try to change an existing record in ztable the old and new values for a particulat ztable will be filled in CDPOS Table.
Would appreciate if you can suggest me how to use in1) Update and 2) Insert scenarios.

How to use a BAPI function module in programs?

Hi,
I have developed a BAPI enabled Function module & object type in 4.7. I want to use it to retrieve data from table T001 in 4.7 and display the output in 5.0. I am not able to get the data into 5.0. Please suggest me how to do this.

Firstly to say Bapis are version independent though the version is changed it does nt effect .. But as u said u want to fetch the data frm 4.7 tht too from table t005 observe tht the table data is not independent it is dependent tht is the reason why u r able to call the bapi but not able to display the data here . hope u know the procedue to call it in editor ...So now try it and check tht wether data is present in tht 5.0 version table ...t005 . thn it will be solved..if at all it is not working thn it might be problem with the bapi business object u created might be wrong check...

How to use BAPI_HELPVALUES_GET with functional location

I try to create an RFC connection searchhelp for my ECC system to the functional location table.
I thought of using the bapi_helpvalues_get but I get stuck in determing the right input data
I have found the right objectype in SWOI

now I found out thanks to see where the function was used and how it was filled in with which values

BAPI_PTIMEOVERVIEW_GET
Just pass in the a From date and To date, and then in tables, pass in a employee no, in EMPLOYEES field.thats all, execute. Any prompts you get to enter a value for anything just click save without entering any values. You will get data returned in Result table of TIMEOVERVIEW.
You can find the Documentation of this, when you go into display mode of this Bapi, you will find function module documentation on top right hand side of the screen. in any case i am pasting it below.
Functionality
    This method defines a time data overview for employees.
    The time data determined can be used as a value guide for recording in
    another system (such as in a time sheet or an external system).
Notes
    An "asynchronous access" to R/3 Time Management data determined by the
    method PTimeOverview.Replicate specifies the employees for whom a time
    data overview is to be created.
    A "sysnchronous access" to R/3 Time Management data determined by the
    time period entered and the external application specifies the employees
    for whom a time data overview is to be created.
    The employees selected are returned in the EMPLOYEES parameter. A list
    of the time types for these employees also to be included in the
    overview is returned in the TIMETYPES parameter.
    The time data overviews are returned in the TIMEOVERVIEW parameter.
    The selected time types and the applicable number of hours are returned

So you are going to do BDC in foreground?
If so, which sounds a bit strange to me, but if that's the requirement, it be so. But when you are doing this in foreground anyway, then you can call the BAPI / And pop-up at 'any' point in time.
I really don't see any problem.

If i am not mistaken you want to use forms in function module.
To enable forms in function module you have to follow these steps:
Create a Z include in your function module.
INCLUDE ZTEST_INCLUDE.
Inside this include you need to write your form routine which will be accessable from your function module.
Now you can use perform statement in your funtion module.

How to check for a function module,with its description and its functionality,in detail how can I know the purpose of a particular function module,how to search for a function module which suits my requirement .

You can search a FM of your requirement by putting in the Key words and searching for a FM. Like * KEYWORD * and then pressing F4.
Say for example you need to search something regarding converstion.
Search for * CONVERT * and press F4.
If there is something specfic like converting date to something you can give
DATE * CONVERT *
OR
CONVERT * DATE * and press F4.
Once you narrow down your search you will have a Function module documentation inside the Function module. Please note that all the FMs willl not have documentation.

Function Modules
Function modules are procedures that are defined in special ABAP programs only, so-called function groups, but can be called from all ABAP programs. Function groups act as containers for function modules that logically belong together. You create function groups and function modules in the ABAP Workbench using the Function Builder.
Function modules allow you to encapsulate and reuse global functions in the SAP System. They are managed in a central function library. The SAP System contains several predefined functions modules that can be called from any ABAP program. Function modules also play an important role during updating and in interaction between different SAP systems, or between SAP systems and remote systems through remote communications.
Unlike subroutines, you do not define function modules in the source code of your program. Instead, you use the Function Builder. The actual ABAP interface definition remains hidden from the programmer. You can define the input parameters of a function module as optional. You can also assign default values to them. Function modules also support exception handling. This allows you to catch certain errors while the function module is running. You can test function modules without having to include them in a program using the Function Builder.
The Function Builder also has a release process for function modules. This ensures that incompatible changes cannot be made to any function modules that have already been released. This applies particularly to the interface. Programs that use a released function module will not cease to work if the function module is changed.

You can execute function module in SE37ie you can perform the activiites defined in the function module by executing it.
By deleting BOM you mention the FM name in se37 and execute. In some function module it will ask input parameters as developed in the program , you have to give the input parameters and execute.

Hi,
we use use set functions on heirarchies with aggregate functions mostly .
If you include member_set, Min returns the minimum value of the aggregated data for all members in the member set.
Member_set can include multiple sets separated by semicolons (;).
The list of member sets must be enclosed in {}.
If the member set expression does not specify a precise member or node, the hierarchy referenced must be present in the table, then the member set expression references the current member in the hierarchy in the table. If the hierarchy is not in the table, the function returns the message #MULTIVALUE.
Eg .
1)     Ancestor
=Sum([YTD] ; {Ancestor([Test Hierarchy];2)})
2)     IsLeaf
=[Test Hierarchy].IsLeaf
You can use this function when you want to show your Measure only at lower level .
3)     .Depth
=[Test Hierarchy].Depth
This is also function used with hierarchy to find Level of Members .

Need an example how to use SCAN_Start with a callback function

I would appreciate if someone helps me with a working example of how to use SCAN_Start with a callback function. I need just a basic functionality: to specify a channel list (with gains probably), to start a data acquisition task and to receive data buffers utilizing a callback function. t this time whatever I was trying to do caused computer hangups, though it is supposed to be one of the most regular tasks to perform.

Attached is an example project which uses a callback function to begin analog acquisition (AI) by calling SCAN_Start. This project acquires from the first 2 channels on your DAQ device. Make sure to modify the device number in the code to match the number of your card.

How to get tables used by a Function Module

Hi,
How to know the tables used by a function module dynamically.
Cuurently im using BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA in my report program.
I tried FM GET_TABLES to know the tables, but could see only tables used in the report.
Main issue in my case is when im running this update program, could observe different tables being displayed as updated in SM50(Process Overview).Want to clarify as why these tables which are not being used in my report are being displayed in SM50.
So was doubtin weather this FM is using these displayed tables.

Hi Dedeepya,
you could use a SQL Trace (tx. ST05) to list all tables affected and operations that realize. Just active the trace, execute FM, and Deactive trace. Then click in "Display trace" and check it.
