How to use flash player with local files?

Have thumb drive with multiple *.flv and *.SWF files. Installed Flash player V11 today. If an FLV file is selected, nothing opens. How to connect these lecture type files with a player? Windows XP. Thanks.

Local SWF files can be played with the standalone player (Projector) from http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
Note that the download is the player, not an installer.
FLV files can be played with Adobe Media Player, which is no longer supported. Use a 3rd party player such as VLC media player.

There IS a standalone Flash Player but is's part of Flash Professional. You'd need to purchase it (or download a 30 day trial, but I don't know if the Flash Player would keep working after the trial expires).

Using Flash Player with mobile devices

How can I use Adobe Flash Player on my iPad? Is it not usable on mobile devices? I get messages saying FP is not supported by my device. I keep the OS updated, etc. Any advice/help?

I have the same problem with Flash Player 7 & Flash Lite.
Neither of them work on my iPAQ hx2495 with Windows Mobile 5. And
now that Flash 6 no longer works, we are stuck without Flash Player

IE 9, Windows Vista 64-bit, Flash Player quit working and won't install. Error Adobe Flash Player 11.1.102.55. I have deactivated User Accounts and Security, gone to Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash and Run as Administrator NPSWF32_FlashUtil, and still not working. One suggestion was to run an add-on from Macromedia, but that failed and I don't know what the add-on was. Have also run System Restore and restored all my Internet security setttigs to default. Nothing is working!

How to use Flash Encoder with an input file?

In WME I can stream a file input (no capture device). How can I do this in FME, which only looks for a capture device? Thanks.

On that note, using an audio mixer, can you mix in voice from a mic into the signal? so you could select/mix from mic or movie audio?
If you try that let me know how it works, because while I can now get the audio from the movie playing, the mic input is used up and so no other audio available. Maybe a mixer like you have would work.

But i would choose MYSQL. Mapping files are used to store information correctly into database to avoid the need to write new code for each type of XML files. And can choose any programing langugage for implementation such as Java and C#.........and currently still looking on Java or VB

How to use MDS deploying with EAR file

Hi everybody.
I would to use MDS in my web application in order to use customization across the sessions. I've performed every step to do this on JDeveloper (11.1.1.3.1). I've tested my application deploying directly from JDeveloper using Application menu > Deploy > "myApp" to "myApplicationServer" (in this way I can choose the repository with a window like this: http://i.stack.imgur.com/Kci9c.png). The repository was prevoiusly registered on the server. In this way my application works fine and they all lived happily ever after.
My problem occurs when I perform the deployment with "myApp to EAR" mode. When I try to install my EAR file in weblogic, it reply me with this error message:
An error occurred during activation of changes, please see the log for details.
+:oracle.mds.config.MDSConfigurationException:MDS-01335: namespace "/xliffBundles" mapped to metadata-store-usage "MAR_TargetRepos" but its definition was not found in MDS configuration.+
I've looked for a solution around the web (included this forum) and I think that I should modify something in adf-config.xml file (below).

I am bidding on a job to do a simple instructional video that will be about 2 minutes in length. The client wants me to put the video in a flash player that has some buttons on it that a user can click on to go to a specific step. The instructions will have, for example, 10 steps, so they want to be enable the view to click on any one of the step numbers to jump to that point in the video.
I did a google search for flash programmers who would quote me on how much they would charge me to create the flash player after I sent them an encoded video. The only company that bothered to give me a quote said that it would be 5 to 7 thousand dollars for them to create a flash player with navigation for me. I was thinking that this would be like a 2 or 3 hour job for someone who knows flash. Is it really that time-consuming to create a flash player with chapter navigation?
Am I starting to think that I am in the wrong business if you guys are getting $5k to $7k to set up a relatively simple player to put on a web page.
I've got the Master collection but have never wanted to take the time to learn flash. But if I could charge that much for jobs, maybe I better learn!

I don't really know how to do this but I've seen some things that make me think it isn't that hard to do at all.
You should be able to install "cue points" when you encode the video in the Media Encoder.
I'm sure there's a very simple way to make links which would target those cue points.
5k is absurd.
