How to use FREE hotmail on iPhone

As most people know, Hotmail and iPhone do not play well together. The truth is that Microsoft does not allow email applications (i.e. Mail on Mac, Mail on iPhone, Mozilla Thunderbird) to access the POP servers unless you get Hotmail Plus service for $20 a year.
If you got that, great, if not, read on.
Izymail @ http://v3.izymail.com/ provides a free workaround to get Hotmail onto your iPhone just like Yahoo!, AOL, or Gmail works.
Visit the site and click the big blue word that says "iPhone". It gives you ALL the instructions with step by step pictures on how to set it up.
Again, if you missed it. It is free! They do not ask for credit card information. There are more features you can add with a paid membership, but you honestly do not need those. If you find yourself in an area where they are asking for payment, you've gone to deep.
I've used it for months with no issues. Works great.
I do want to make people aware that you are providing them with your password. It is required for the service to work. If you have confidential information that could lead to identity theft, it is recommended that you do not use this service. After months of service, I have never noticed anything suspicious when it comes to my hotmail account. If you do, simply change your hotmail password and all is well.
Also, if you do not wish to hurt Microsoft's feelings, do not use this service. They will be losing out on $20 a year, what a shame. Honestly though, if you feel this service steps over your "moral boundaries", then skip out and I'm sorry for suggesting it.

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.

  • HT201303 how to use itune for my iphone?

    how to use itune ?

    Hi Rashid,
To use itunes for Ur iPhone click http://www.apple.com/itunes/how-to/#video-sync
    Setting up syncing
    Tutorial:
Before setting up syncing you should download and install the latest version of iTunes. Wi-Fi syncing requires iTunes 10.5 or later and iOS 5 or later. You can change your sync options at any time. Each time you sync, content is synced between your iOS device and computer to reflect new, updated, or deleted content.
    USB syncing
    Open iTunes.
Connect the iOS device to your computer using the included USB cable and select it in iTunes under Devices on the left-hand side:
Some tabs may not appear if you do not have corresponding content in your library. For example, if you do not have any podcasts in your library, the corresponding Podcast tab will not appear.
Click Apply, in the lower-right corner of the screen, to sync.
    Wi-Fi syncing
    Open iTunes
To set up Wi-Fi syncing, connect your iOS device to your computer with the included USB cable. Select your device under Devices on the left-hand side.
In the Summary tab, select "Sync with this [device] over Wi-Fi".
Whenever the computer and the iOS device are on the same network, the iOS device will appear in iTunes, and you can sync it. The iOS device will sync automatically when all of the following are true:
The iOS device is plugged in to power
iTunes is open on the computer
The iOS device and the computer are on the same Wi-Fi network
While the iOS device appears in the left-hand column of iTunes, you can select the content tabs and configure sync options.
Click Apply or Sync to sync the iOS device.
If the iOS device does not appear in the Devices section or you are unable to sync, please see this article for troubleshooting.
    What you can sync
    Applications
Audio content—music, podcasts, audiobooks, and iTunes U content
    Bookmarks
    Books
    Contacts
    Calendars
    Movies and TV shows
    Photos
    Notes
    Documents (File Sharing apps only)
    Ringtones
    Additional Information
The first time you sync the Info tab with your iOS device, you are asked if you want to merge data, replace data on the service, or replace the data on your computer from the following applications:
Mac: Address Book, iCal, Microsoft Entourage, or Microsoft Outlook 2011
PC: Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Addressbook (XP) and Windows Contacts (Vista and Windows 7)
For more information about syncing your device with your computer, see the user's guide or see this article.

  • How to use old 1st gen iPhone as iPod after deactivated?

I just got a new iPhone 4S and gave my first generation iPhone to my kid to use as an iPod. I transferred the phone number so now the new iPhone works as my phone and the old iphone did not connect to AT&T but did work as an iPod (or through wireless). Rather than just sync'ing to his computer, he erased the iPhone somehow while it was not connected to a computer. This apparently erased everything including activation. Now when he hooks up to iTunes on a Mac or PC, he automatically goes to iTunes Store and gets a page asking for him to activate. The iphone has multiple languages on the screen and window for making emergency call so it looks like he wiped the old iphone "clean". From reading discussions, my impression is that iPhone needs to be activated before you can use even as an iPod.  So my question is how can I get this old iPhone to work as an iPod?
I do have Time Machine backups of my Mac from when the old iphone was activated and connected to AT&T.   Is there some way to use this to restore iphone to the way it was before the above?
I suppose the other option would be to do some kind of jail-break fix?
    thanks

    More inof:
I saw an old post that said: "Does original iPhone work without phone service -- Yes, but you won't be able to install future firmware updates or restore the iPhone with iTunes if wanted or needed.. Both require the iPhone being activated."
Not knowing this limitation, we did a full restore/reset on an old 1st gen iphone, so is there anyway to get it working like an ipod.  Per above, I get a screen asking me to activate.
AT&T even obliged me by allowing this phone to be reactivated (for a few days) and gave me a new sim card to put in the phone, but it wouldn't reactivate probably since it's so old:  AT&T didn't know what to do and Apple wouldn't deal with a product out of warranty.
So now phone is not activated and am basically locked out from using as ipod.

  • How to use unlock code for iPhone 4s

I finished my contract with Virgin Mobile USA and requested that they unlock my iPhone 4S so I can use it with other carriers. Virgin processed the unlocking, they provided me an "unlock code" and told me that I need to provide that code to my new carrier to finalize the unlock process. I have taken it to ATT, Verizon and have asked other carriers, and none of them know how to use the unlock code. I have restored my iPhone via iTunes to try and see if the unlock would go through, but had no luck. I've unlocked other iPhones in the past with other operators, but have never needed a code... Can someone help me? Thanks!

I have the same problem. I did the 'update' which deleted ALL of my information. I could not even turn my phone on. I eventually restored my phone, because I had synced EVERYTHING before trying to to the update. SOMEHOW, in spite of making 100% that my contact button was selected in the sync, when I restored and then went to the last sync, none of my contacts were there. It is disgusting that in 2012, Apple has not figured out how to do something as simple as resotre contacts as many times as I plug the phone into my computer...
Many of my contacts are in third world countries, and do not have email. I have lost their contact forever. It is very saddening and frustrating. Iphone sees fit to keep pictures/music/and stupid game apps before keeping CONTACTS?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? SOOOOOOoooooooooo very disappointing Apple.
If I had known how unreliable Apple was before attemping what seemed like a simple 'upgrade', I would have NEVER done the upgrade. My phone was fine before, but I figured, oh you know, it will not hurt to do the upgrade. I could have written all of the numbers down BUT the site said (yes I did check before) that as long as you sync, if something goes wrong, you can go back to the last sync.
    NOT TRUE!!!
    Disgusted.

  • How to use the find my iphone feature?

I lost my Ipod Touch 4 at school but i did not have the find my iphone feature turned on so I couldn't track it. Is it true that you can use the find my iphone app on another person's apple device to track yours? How?

No, you have to either have the Apple FindMuPhone/iPod feature turned on or installed a third-party app. The iPod musy also bo connected to the internet.
    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.
    - Apple will do nothing without a court order
Reporting a lost or stolen Apple product

  • How To: Use FCPX to create iPhone Portrait Movies (and other non-standard formats)

Goal: Use Final Cut Pro X 10.0.7 to produce a 640x1136 video (iPhone 5 Portrait). You can use these same steps to produce virtually any dimensions you want. My example is for the iPhone 5, in Portrait mode.
This information is available in various places, but you have to realy work to find it, so I thought I'd post a step-by-step guide here.
By the way, you might think you could just create a FCPX Project with your desired dimensions, but you can't (at least with 10.0.7). Projects only support certainly dimensions. But there are other ways, as the rest of this post describes:
    1) Create an initial movie with the desired dimensions, to serve as a template. We'll call it "Template.mov". The only thing that matters is the dimensions. It can be in any codec FCPX understands, and virtually any length.
I'm using a 2 second video shot on my iPhone for the template. You could also create a blank image (.png, whatever) with the proper dimensions, copy and paste it into a new Quick Time Pro 7 window, and Export it using custom settings. There's lots of different ways to do this.
    2) Drop Template.mov into a FCPX event.
    3) Select Template.mov in the Event browser, and select File->Duplicate (or command-D). You probably could just edit "Template.mov", but it's a good idea to save it for reuse.
    3) Change the name of the copied video. I'm using "iPhone Video".
    4) Right-click "iPhone Video" and select "Open in Timeline".
    5) If you made the Template video from a still image, you may need to change the duration (ctrl+D). You don't have to make it very long, but it needs to be longer than 1 frame. A few seconds should be enough.
    6) Use this timeline like you'd use a project's timeline. Drop in new content, trim, transition, etc. There may be things you can't do in it, but I haven't found any yet. I'm guessing Chapters may not work, but I haven't tried them.
    7) Note that when you drop new content into the timeline, it may size funny. That's because the default setting for "Spacial Conform" is "Fit". Simply select the newly-dropped content, and in the Video settings inspector, scroll down to "Spacial Conform" and change it. You could use "Fill", which fills the frame vertically, or "None", which uses the source's original height. Then crop/transform/whatever to get what you want.
    8) When you're ready to render, select "iPhone Video" in the Event browser, then use the "Share" button. You want to use the "Export File" destination, which you may have to add. Pick your codec, and let 'er rip.
    9) When the rendering is done, you should have a video in your desired dimensions.
That's all there is to it. Hope this helps someone.
    Dan
PS: Don't ask why someone would want to create an iPod video using FCPX. The point is that you may need to create a video with non-standard  dimensions at some point in time, and this is how to do it.
PPS: Most of this information came from http://library.creativecow.net/articles/payton_t/FCPX_Custom-Resolution-Timeline s/video-tutorial. I just wrote it down, while I tried to do what the video suggested.

Instructions for using QuickTime Pro 7 to create a template video with unusual dimensions.
I suspect that anyone savy enough to be using FCPX has probably already figured out how to do this, either using my technique or another, so there probably isn't a real need for me to post this. For that matter, I may be the only person who cares about this at all. However, while I was trying to learn how to do all of this, I would have really appreciated having all the information in one place, so here goes.
If you want to create a video with unusual dimensions (like 640x1136) using my steps above, you'll need a "template" video first. Here's an easy way to create one, using any image editor, and QuickTime Pro 7.
    1) Open QuickTime Pro 7 (QTP for short).
    2) From the menu, select File->New Player. You'll get a window with just the bottom portion of the player, i.e. the playback controls.
    3) Using an image editor, create a still image in the desired dimensions. You can use any image editor. It doesn't matter what the image contains (although it will end up showing as a thumbnail in FCPX).
    4) Copy the image to the clipboard.
    5) Switch back to QTP, and paste the image into the new player. Don't worry that there isn't a video window showing - just paste it into the window that has only playback controls. As soon as you do, the video window appears.
    6) Advance to the end of the movie (the short, 1-frame movie), then hold down Command+V (paste) and keep holding it down to paste multiple images in. Watch the time advance. You could, if you want, just hold down Command+V until you get the length you want. But if you want a long video, there's an easier way:
    7) When you reach a few seconds (or whatever duration your patience allows), select all (Command+A) and copy (Command+C). Then hold down Command+V to keep pasting in the longer clips. Wait until you reach a longer duration, then repeat the process. So, for example, 1 second, then 10 seconds, then 1 minute, then 10 minutes, then 1 hour. Or whatever you want.
    8) Save the video however you want. I usually use File->Export with H.264, with Quality set to "Least". Just make sure you don't let it change the dimensions. If you resized the player window, depending on which "save" or "export" method you've chosen, it might default to the resized dimensions, so double check that to make sure.
That's it. You now have a template video you can use with my previous post(s).

  • Need Help Understanding How To Use iMessage Between Two iPhones

I have an iPhone 4 and my wife an iPhone 3GS.  We both have iOS 5, but I have discovered something about iMessage I need to make sure I understand correctly.  As I understand it iMessage can send text even if our voice carrier service is unavailable.  I tend to loose signal inside the building I work in.  I usually can get texts in and out, but sometimes not.  But in testing the two phones sending iMessages, I've noticed is that if I have one of the phones with iMessage turned on and the other with iMessage turned off, the two phones will not be able to exchange text.  Is that how it's supposed to work?  Even though one of these phones can receive an iMessage doesn't mean the other one send one back.  Can't the system detect when one phone is connected and another one not, and the one that is not gets sent SMS messages instead?  I don't want to try to send my wife an iMessage because I can't get a voice signal in my building, but her have iMessages turned off and not able to get any messages from me, iMessage or SMS.  I guess I need help better understanding how this actually works between the two phones so I can always get texts back and forth between my wife and I.  My other misgiving is that this iMessage thing consumes my data limit.  My wife gets unlimited because she had her phone before the limits were imposed, but I got on board after, so I am hesitant to use iMessage all the time because of it.  I have no intention to send picture mail through iMessage, but the thing is if I wanted to switch to SMS to send picture mail to save data, but my wife's phone is set to iMessage, she won't get it.  If this is how this thing is supposed to work, I'm not really impressed.  Some insight would be appreciated

I think you are making this way too complicated. Why are you turning iMessage off? If you are at your office connect to the WiFi there and send your wife messages that way (unless your office is blocking the port iMessage uses). When possible the two phones will use iMessage but will revert to SMS is iMessage is not available if that option is set that way.
I would not worry about using up your data plan if you have the 2GB, text iMessages are going to be very small and MMS (picture) ones are not very large either. Unless you are sending hundreds of picture iMessages a day you will have a hard time using up your data.
If you are near an Apple Store you should explore signing up for an intro iPhone course and have them run through iMessage options.
