How to use GigaWorks S750 to my laptop??? HELP!!
Hi
I'm having trouble with finding the right and best solution to connect my GigaWorks S750 to my laptop.
I havent got enough outputs on my laptop (my system needs 7.1).
I need a solution so i can use all 8 speakers. Maybe a external soundcard or something like that?
Please be kind and help me if you know a good solution. Thanks!

Notice, -internal interface-. What you have is a simple USB MIDI Interface. Most MIDI interfaces are USB.
My point is (was), MIDI OUT of the Korg goes to the connector marked MIDI IN on the Alesis, those new to MIDI often get this wrong.

How to connect Gigaworks S750 with AUDIGY 2 ZS

Well, let's talk about the problem.
I've bought a GIGAWORKS S750 (occasion) and AUDIGY 2ZS. I tried to connect them but i'm having problem. Let me explain :
The cable used to connect the GIGAWORKS to the Audigy 2zs have 4 plugs on each side. On the subwoofer i connect the pink/green/black/grey and then on my audigy 2 zs i have to connect 3 plugs (black, grey & pink). But there one more (the grey) which is "alone" and i'm not able to connect it on my audigy 2zs. Moreover, I don't have sound "side" when i used the THX Setup Console, and when i make a test the Rear speakers correspond to the Side speakers...
So my question is : is there something wrong with the cable i used to connect the gigaworks to my audigy 2zs ? (as i'm able to connect 3 plug on my audigy, why is there 4 plug ?!).
The guy who sold me gigaworks have maybe forget the good cable ?!
I can post a pict of this cable if needed !

Florianwell, if you buy a new set of gigaworks speakers, there is a special cable in the box to connect the audigy 2zs (3 to 4 pin connector), which I also use, because I have the same setup.
you should contact the person you bought the set from, and ask for that cable.

Home screen lock is different than carrier lock.
If the device is locked to a specific carrier for cell service you cannot use a sim from another provider without having the device unlocked. Only the carrier to which the device is locked will be able to unlock the device for service on another provider. -

How to use Import parameters of a search help

Could you please tell me how to use import & export parameters of a search help in the report.Hi,
Import parameters are imported from the selection screen of the report into the search help and then these are used to query in the search help.
For example
case 1.
parameters : p_carrid like sflight-carrid.
parameters : p_connid like sflight-connid.
the search help that is used in the above condition is
SFLIGHT.
And the selection method is SFLIGHT in this search help.
( to check which search help is used go to se11 display the table and put your cursor on the field and in the menu for goto--> search help.)
so when you do an F4 on connid it looks for a field which is declared like SFLIGHT-CARRID ( and the value entered in it) since the SFLIGHT-CARRRID is an import parameter in the search help, and queries the database where the value is equal to the p_carrid which is declared like SFLIGHT-CARRID and gets only data which is equal to carrid
case 2.
parameters : p_carrid like SCARR-carrid.
parameters : p_connid like sflight-connid.
In this case the system will fetch all the data.
since there is no parameter for SFLIGHT-CARRID on the selection screen it would get all the data from SFLIGHT. -

How to use 2 ipods on same laptop
My wife recently bought the new ipod nano 8gb. My problem is, how do I keep her iTunes setup seperate from my own (totally different tastes!) on the same laptop or is it best just to download everything on to my session and then set up her playlists in my library and simply manually sync her ipod to those playlists?
When the iPods belong to different people, there are basically three ways of using multiple iPods on a computer and these involve:
a) Sharing a single iTunes library
b) Creating Multiple Libraries in a single user account
c) Creating multiple user accounts.
Note: When you are sharing an iTunes library, you don't have to set each iPod to update in the same manner, you can mix and match from the options below as each iPod has it's own update settings
Sharing a Library and/or User Account
If you want to share the one library, you can set either or all of the iPods so that they only get updated with only certain playlists (you can update from more than one if you wish): Loading songs onto iPod automatically - Windows
Choosing the update option "Sync Music - Selected playlists" allows you to create a playlist specifically for the iPod and drag the tracks you want into it. If you tire of the list and want to change it, you just add or remove the songs you don't want. The ones you take out out remain in the library to be used some other time if you choose. Or you can choose to update any or all of the iPods manually and just drag whatever content you want to them: Managing content manually on iPod
Multiple Libraries
It's also possible to have multiple libraries in a single account. To create or access a second (or more) library, hold down the Shift key in Windows when launching iTunes 7. In the resulting dialogue you will get the option to create a new library or navigate to the other Library.
Note: You can only have one Library open at a time and iTunes will default to the last library opened if you don't use the keyboard command to choose one. This can prove tricky when using multiple iPods, if you don't use the keyboard command you can risk syncing to the wrong library: Using multiple iTunes libraries -Windows
Separate User Accounts
Another option is to create a separate User account for each person on your PC or Mac. Different accounts by definition would give you completely separate libraries. Each account has it's own iTunes folder, Library and iTunes Music folder and you load it with CDs etc just as you did with your original one. The iPod can be set to update however the owner chooses, sync all, manual or sync specific playlists

How to use Time Machine with a laptop?
Time Machine seems great to me. I already set it up at home, and it's working fine. But now, the big question... What about laptops? I mean, I use my MacBook during the day away from home (I'm not carrying a FW HD everywhere I go, right)... Didn't Apple thought about this?
Isn't there a way to back up through the internet? C'mon, I have a .Mac account, I can now access my home mac from anywhere... Is this be so hard to do?
Hope I'm deeply wrong, and there's a solution for it...Time Machine was poorly thought out in that it requires a second harddrive. This is kind of silly if you ask me.
Case in point... if you have a laptop you're not likely to connect your computer to an external drive hourly (or even daily for that matter), so the idea of 'incremental backups' on a laptop is a joke. iMac's aren't much better. The only computer I would think TM is made for is a Mac Pro which can have many harddrives, BUT, chances are if you have a Mac Pro you're running X Server.
So I can safely say they didn't finish Time Machine, had they the need for a second harddrive wouldn't have been in place. Sounds like they spent more time on the UI than designing the solution. Especially since the backup harddrive isn't bootable. -
How to use hard drive on old laptop for external storage on newer laptop?
My MacBook's hard drive is chock full. I'm getting messages. I hope to replace this old trouper soonish, but it'll be a while before my finances are up to the job.
In the meantime, I've got an even older PowerBook.
Obviously, I"ve got to do some pruning on both.
But once that's done, what, basically, would be involved in using my PowerBook as external storage for my MacBook (i.e., moving some old stuff off of my MacBook onto my PowerBook)?

As using an external drive is like having it as an extension of your own computer. You would only need the the basic operating system on the Powerbook.

you could either use javax.swing.table.DefaultTableModel because this class uses a java.util.Vector for data storage or you could implements your own TableModel by extending javax.swing.table.AbstractTableModel.

How to use Column Formula in Answers? Help needed
Hi all, I have a report requirement.
I have a prompt.
I need the column to be displayed based on a prompt value.
For instance,
Lets Say I have a report with two columns.
Customer_name , amount
wheere customer_name is a column from presentation catalog and Amount is the column I need to calculate based on prompt value.
If prompt value = 'X' , Then, amount is calculated as: column1+column2
If Prompt value = 'Y' I need amount = column3
Where column 1, column2, column 3 are presentation columns.
'Amount' is the column I need to show in the report.
I believe this can be done in column formula in asnwers.but donot know How to do it.
Can you help me in implementing this Please.

First go through guided navigation concept.
Follow these steps -
1) Create two reports,one with Customer_name,amount(column1+column2) call it report1 and other with Customer_name , amount(column3) call it report2
2) Now create one prompt with sql result and write sql query as below -

SELECT CASE WHEN 1=0 THEN 'WORLD' ELSE 'Y' END FROM SA.TABLE
Use presentation variable.
(If you are already having x and y in some column then no need to use sql result in prompt)
3) Now edit dashboard and place two sections and place one report per one section(section1-report1)
4) Now create one intermediate report with some dummy column and in fx place below code -
CASE WHEN 1=0 THEN 'HI' ELSE 'X' END
Apply filter on this column as equal to presentation variable.
5) In section1 go to properties->guided navigation->select intermediate report that you created.
Show this section if request returns rows.
6) In section2 go to properties->guided navigation->select intermediate report that you created.
Show this section if request returns nothing.
Try to understand guided navigation functionality,that helps you lot.

In our recent project, I need listen some event such as ClassPrepareEvent, MethodEntryEvent using JDI and handle it. I am trying to mend the TTY and let it
do something simple when MethodEntryEvent occur.
I just add a print line in the method methodEntryEvent in TTY.java. But I noticed that this method is not invocated after I input "run" commond. I don't konw why? And how can I listen this event? And when the methodEntryEvent method in TTY will be invocated?

What resolution are ipad photos? The ones you take with the iPad itself.
i'm trying to find out at what resolution ipad photos taken on the iPad are stored at. When I send them to myself and choose the largest size possible on the email, they are only 72 dpi. I thought there was an option for 300 dpi? THanks!
