i have installed i tunes on my pc and sync with my 30gb i pod after some time i have formatted my pc and i installed i tunes and when i connected i pod i tunes is showing that i have to erase my old library is it is must that everytime when i format my pc ihave to erase my itunes library or there is any alternate to backup and restore my library

Connect your iPod to your computer. When you get the message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default. The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. There is also a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows or a Mac. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. Like StarDeb55 I would also advise that you back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.

Please refer to the manufacturer of that TV tuner for more assistance. Once fully configured, you will only get our local channels. Local channels are 1-49 and they are un-encrypted so a TV tuner can access them.

Do you mean how to sync content from your computer's iTunes ? If you do then connect the iPad to your computer and select it on the left-hand sidebar of your computer's iTunes (if you have iTunes 11 on your computer then you can enable the left-hand sidebar via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC), and then on the right-hand side of iTunes there should be a series of tabs for selecting what to sync to your iPad.

How to use one I-tunes library with multiple windows users (family) on 1 pc

On our family pc we log in with different accounts. We want to use I-Tunes but all have the same library. I tried to create a library not in the users directory, but in the All Users folder that is accessible for everyone. However, when I import the music in the library for one user and set the same location for another user, I-tunes does not recognize the library. So everyone has to create it's own library.
What are the best practices to overcome this?

Keep in mind that what you have done now is you have multiple iTunes libraries accessing the same media folder. Meaning, that each account can have their own ratings, playlists, etc. but more importantly, each account does NOT know what the other account does, so if your daughter adds a CD to her account, it will go into the shared folder, but it will NOT automatically go into your wife's iTunes library. She would have to add it manually. Likewise, if one account deletes music from their library and tells iTunes to remove it to the trash, the other accounts will not know and iTunes will still try to access the file from the shared location even though the file is now trashed.
Each account has their own database files (.itl files in the iTunes folder) which stores this stuff.
If you want to have everyone use the exact same library which means the same ratings, playlists, etc. then you need to move the database files into that same location and set each iTunes account to read the same data.

Select your iPad under devices in the iTunes source list to make the various tabs for your iPad sync preferences with iTunes available in the main iTunes window.

Qosmio F50-125 - How to use TV-FM Tuner in Windows 7

Hello,
I am using Qosmio F50-125 and I just upgraded to Windows 7.
I just now found out that I have a TV tuner on my notebook and I dont know how to use it.
First I dont have drivers for my TV tuner and tried to download something like TV-tuner driver v.2.3.3.31 from the toshiba website, but there is not a typical setup.exe but just some files inside.
If you could tell me a bit more about how to use my TV option and how to install the proper drivers I would be truly grateful.

Friend of me has also Qosmio F50 with TV Tuner and Windows 7 now. As far as I know the posted instructions from the other users are correct.
First you have to extract all files. Then go in device manager and right click on the TV card (I think its marked with yellow exclamation mark). If you right click choose Update Driver and in next windows choose the advanced installation (second point). Now you have to choose the driver directory yourself and navigate to the folder where you have extracted the files. Click on OK, Next, etc. and the driver should be installed properly.
Maybe you to restart the notebook but this shouldnt be a problem! ;)

The program I am running to configure it is Windows Media Center, I am using a windows 7 OS..I connected the portable antenna and tried also a tv antenna but when it scans for signals it tells me it cant see any signal or channel at all.I am in a place where TV's connect to a channel even though your just using an aluminum tube..so signal is really good so I cant seem to figure out why it cant detect any..T_T.Thanks for your response sir..greatly appreciated.

If I wiped my phone I wouldn't have the contacts on my phone to send to my self. I would need to take just the contacts from my back up. I would have to do this through iTunes and I don't see how I can just extract the contacts only from my back up. From what I can figure out it is all or nothing
