How to use IE proxy with an applet and a socket ???

Hello!
I need to make an applet running with Internet Explorer.
This applet uses socket and sends http request to a server (the server where the
applet is).
It's ok but it doesn't work when my IE uses a proxy.
My question is: how my applet can makes a socket using the IE proxy ?
My applet can be used by many users, so it has to work with or without proxy, and has
no need no configuration.
Thanks for your help.

Check for the system environment variable for "ie.proxy" in your applet code, if it returns something then use the proxy server, if not then ignore it.
However, as a rule of thumb unless your IE Security settings enable applets to access URLs, then it won't work. Next, speaking in general java - applets can only access resources (URLs) from the applet's originating server (i.e. the server where the applet exists).
If IE uses a proxy, then your applet should automatically use it, unless as I metioned before, your IE Security does not allow permission for the applet to do so. Check Tools - Internet Options - Security - Java - Advanced options.

    thank you

    Well, it works well when, into my applet, i do somethig like this:
    URL url = new URL(host);
    URLConnection connexion = url.openConnection();My applet uses proxy setting from IE6 but only if i use Java 1.4.2_08.
    With IE6 and Java 1.5.04, it doesn't work (my applet doesn't use proxy settings)

  • How to use Apply Pay with debit card and "NO" Touch ID?

    I set up Apple Pay with my bank and they said it was all verified. When I go into Passbook it now says "Verification required" and to contact the bank so is it set up or not??? I called the bank and set this up and got confirmation I was set up but it only tells me to verify when I go into passbook? Or don't I have to go back into Passbook now??? When I do go in there and click on the "i" in lower right corner shows my "debit" card device account number so should be all set, right??? If so, now how do I use it for sure...I don't have Touch ID set up because I use my hands a lot from work and it keeps not recognizing my thumbprint so just use a passcode. If I go to a store that uses this, what is the exact process I will use with a "debit" card and no Touch ID? Thanks for any and all help!

    ApplePay will only work with TouchID. It is a security feature.

  • How to use Satellite P100 with MS Vista and MS Bluetooth stack?

    I'm using my Sat P100 for more than one year. I just reinstalled Windows Vista Ultimate from scratch, and because I'm really not so much satisfied with Toshiba's Bluetooth stack, I'm trying to use original Microsoft's Bluetooth stack, which comes with Vistas.
    After reinstall, Windows found BT device and installed MS BT stack. Everything worked well, but ufetr downloading and installing tons of updates including SP1, BT device completely disappeared. I found some articles about how to switch from Toshiba to Microsoft BT Stack, but it seems to be a XP sollutions, and mainly it always need to install "Bluetooth Monitor for MS Stack", but I cannout find this download for MS VIsta.
    Can anyone help? Thanx!

    I've got it!!!
    I have fond one sollution: maybe not excellent, but working!
    1. Check if you have latest Toshiba Bluetooth stack installed (here: http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/?page=download)
    1.1 If you have older version, uninstall it, reboot, install latest one, reboot.
    1.2 If you don't have any version installed, install the latest one.
    2. Assuming you installed to default location, copy this folder to any backup location, including complete directory structure: c:\Program Files\Toshiba\Bluetooth Toshiba Stack\
    3. Go to Start/Control panel/Programs and Features and uninstall whole Toshiba Bluetooth stack, reboot
    4. After rebooting, there is again "Bluetooth devices" applet in Control panels (it was previously disabled by Toshiba's Bluetooth Stack), but you cannot see any HW Bluetooth device
    5. Go to backup location (into ..\Bluetooth Toshiba Stack\) and run AS.exe.
    6. It will start installing BT devices, BT icon will appear in Tray.
    7. Installer will hang on cca 5th box, but never mind, all drivers are already installed.
    8. Maybe you can cancel installer, but I feared that it will roll-back installed drivers, so I simply killed this Install process (Ctrl+Alt+Del, Start Task manager, Select BT installer in Apps and Kill it)
    9. Whow, it works now event after restarting.
    10. Your feedback welcome! ;)

    1) declaring the dad and the jservlet cartdige transactional or non-transactional in the oas manager seems to have no effect on this problem

    Hi Amit,
    Sounds like a good idea but then you would need an external db and update the table in a thread safe way !.

  • How to use for loops with Multiple Initializers and Incrementers

    I found that my for loop is printing out wrong, because I am using two for loops. I have searched but all I can find out is you can't use multiple inializers and increments, does anyone know how to get around this? How would I use an array for this?
    Thanks very much for your help.
    import java.util.Random;
    import java.util.Arrays;
    /** Generate numnodes value for random integers in the range 0..499. */
    public final class RandomInteger {
    public static final void main(String... aArgs){
    log("Generating 6 random integers in range 0..499.");
    int numnodes = 6;

    Random randomGenerator = new Random();
    for (int x = 0; x < numnodes; ++x) {
    int randomInt = randomGenerator.nextInt(500);
    Random randomGenerator2 = new Random();
    for (int y = 0;y < numnodes; ++y) {
    int randomInt2 = randomGenerator2.nextInt(500);
    log("Generated : " + randomInt + " " + randomInt2);
    log("Done.");
    }

    Sorry that code works, but I want to use both my x and y coordinates to get a random number from 0 to 499 in both of them, then I want to do some comparisons of the values, then return it to another function. As it stands now, I get the wrong results when I run it, as you can see at the bottom.

    Greetings,
    hi forum...
    how to use Java WebStart with EJB ? examples ?Well, for starters these are complementing, not 'cooperating', technologies. I presume, since EJB's do not - directly, at least - communicate with a web browser, that you intend for "Java WebStart" to somehow invoke an EJB?? Java WebStart is a technology for running client-side (Java) applications from the web browser - perceptively, the application resides on the server, but technically it, like an applet, is downloaded to the client and run there. Unlike an applet, however, it is not constrained by "sandbox" restrictions and does not have to be re-downloaded each time it is invoked - though the process allows for automagically updating the client-side with new versions of the application. ;) So, with this in mind, to "use Java WebStart with EJB" means little more than deploying an EJB client application with Java WebStart as the distribution channel.

    How do i run an external monitor with my macbook and change settings so that when i close the lid the signal to the monitor is not lost and i can continue using the mac with a mouse and a wireless keyboard?

    No, nothing will prevent the computer from going to sleep when you close its display except third-party hacks that are designed to do exactly that. I strongly advise against using any of those, as they may interfere with successful entry into clamshell mode (and they carry other downside risks as well). Just wait until the computer is asleep (with its sleep light pulsing), then press any key on the keyboard. It sounds as though your setup is working as it's designed to do.

  • How to use multiple JREs (1.5.0_20 and 1.6.0_07) with Internet Explorer 8?

    Hi!
    Question about the problem mentioned in subject.
    I have configured that JNLP opens with 1.5 version, both versions are enabled in Java Control Panel Runtime Settings but when I try to start a desktop java console says:
    Java Web Start 1.5.0_22
    Using JRE version 1.6.0_07 Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM
    And the opening of the desktop creates an exception:
    Java Web Start - Invalid Argument Error
    TooManyArgumentsException[ Too many arguments supplied: {C:\WINDOWS\Temporary, Internet, Files\Content.IE5\....
    I'm trying to open my desktop with 1.5 version and other programs with 1.6 version. What is it that I still need to do? I'm kind of confused with this. Some of my collagues have succeeded with this and some doesn't, with the same configuration.
    So the question is, how to use multiple JREs with IE8 so that one application uses 1.5 version and others 1.6 version?

    Once you can come up with an actual question, I might look at this more closely.

  • How to use Oracle partitioning with JPA @OneToOne reference?

    Hi!
    A little bit late in the project we have realized that we need to use Oracle partitioning both for performance and admin of the data. (Partitioning by range (month) and after a year we will move the oldest month of data to an archive db)
    We have an object model with an main/root entity "Trans" with @OneToMany and @OneToOne relationships.
    How do we use Oracle partitioning on the @OneToOne relationships?
    (We'd rather not change the model as we already have millions of rows in the db.)
    On the main entity "Trans" we use: partition by range (month) on a date column.
    And on all @OneToMany we use: partition by reference (as they have a primary-foreign key relationship).
    But for the @OneToOne key for the referenced object, the key is placed in the main/source object as the example below:
    @Entity
    public class Employee {
    @Id
    @Column(name="EMP_ID")
    private long id;
    @OneToOne(fetch=FetchType.LAZY)
    @JoinColumn(name="ADDRESS_ID")
    private Address address;
    EMPLOYEE (table)
    EMP_ID FIRSTNAME LASTNAME SALARY ADDRESS_ID
    1 Bob Way 50000 6
    2 Sarah Smith 60000 7
    ADDRESS (table)
    ADDRESS_ID STREET CITY PROVINCE COUNTRY P_CODE
    6 17 Bank St Ottawa ON Canada K2H7Z5
    7 22 Main St Toronto ON Canada     L5H2D5
    From the Oracle documentation: "Reference partitioning allows the partitioning of two tables related to one another by referential constraints. The partitioning key is resolved through an existing parent-child relationship, enforced by enabled and active primary key and foreign key constraints."
    How can we use "partition by reference" on @OneToOne relationsships or are there other solutions?
    Thanks for any advice.
    /Mats

  • How to use my itunes with a new pc

    how to use my itunes with a new pc?

    These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
    Method 1
    Backup the library with this User Tip.
    Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
    Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
    Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
    Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
    Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
    I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
    If you have an iOS device that syncs with contact & calendar data on your computer you should migrate this information too. If that isn't possible create a dummy entry of each type in your new profile and iTunes should offer to merge the existing data from the device into the computer, otherwise the danger is that it will wipe the information from the device.
    If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
    Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data. If you don't have any Apple devices then see HT2519 - Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store.
