Going to Use my ipad 2 3g/wifi in italy, mostly with wifi, how do I go about using the ipad if there is no wifi, without purchasing the international Att plan. Is there any sim card I should purchase there.

Want to use my iPad (4th gen) to edit a movie using iMovie - easy enough if the movie file is on the iPad - but what if it's too large - can I keep the source file on a USB stick or external USB hard drive and edit from there? How can you do this?

You can't export any type of file using the camera connection kit, so a USB flash drive or SD card won't work.
There are some wireless external hard drives that can be used with the iPad.
The Kingston Wi-Drive, which costs $50 for the 16 Gigabyte, and then $30 more for every 16 gigs more. It works by you turning it on and then accessing the files on it from an app that you download on your iDevice. You can access music, movies, and other stuff. No connections or anything, it works like a WiFi connection, you connect to it from the setting on the iPad under wireless networks.
Then there is the Seagate GoFlex, which some would recommend over the Wi-Drive. But this one costs $199 and had 500 Gigabytes of storage. It works the sameway as the Kingston: no wires, runs over its wireless connection. You can actually fit up to 300 HD movies on it.

Bluetooth can only be used on iOS devices to connect to speakers, headphones, keyboards and a few other items. It cannot be used to transfer files between different devices. There are other ways to do this. Please describe exactly what you want to accomplish and someone here will be able to help you get it done.

The iPad and Mac computers use different operating systems : iOS for iPads (and iPhones and iPod Touches) and OS X for Mac computers. They operate in different ways - Macs have a desktop and a file system, iPads (with the sandboxed iOS) have apps with content stored within the apps (and no file system).

How to use ipad stuck on one page

My ipad got stuck on google maps page and am unable to use any other site. Message on google map is `Would Like to Use Your Current Location' Taping either `Don't Allow` or OK does not close the page. I disconnected wi fi, switched off ipad for longd but problem persists. Can any one guide me?

Try quitting the Google Maps app and then reset your iPad. Double click the Home button to show the screen with running and recently used apps. Each app icon will have a sample page above it. Flick up on the page (not the app icon) and the page will fly away and the app icon will disappear. This quits that app. Then reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

How to use iPad in a Spanish Classroom?

Hello,
My mom is a high school Spanish teacher and is thinking about getting an iPad for her to use in her classroom. Since it is a significant investment in a device, I would like to know the most useful ways that she might be able to use it to teach Spanish.
Helpful details:
-We are thinking about getting the black 32 GB Wi-Fi only iPad 2 (is 32 GB enough if you want to do a lot of video recording?)
-Her classroom computer is Windows XP and she might be able to bring in her laptop (Windows 7)
-Her classroom has a projector with a VGA input (can you do video mirroring with that?)
Also, does anybody know of any apps that would be useful? I have found a few on my iPod touch, but I want to know if there are any iPad-only apps (like a Spanish newspaper) that I otherwise wouldn't be able to access on my iPod touch. In addition, she wants to find a programmable concentration/memory game app since she hasn't found any by searching the App Store on my iPod touch.

With regard to video, the iPad 2 does mirroring with both the HDMI and VGA adapters. One problem i"ve noticed, is that the weight of the cable tends to unplug the adapter from the iPad. This might be a problem when walking around holding the iPad. Someone suggested duct tape!

Find a cell provider that has microSIMs that work with the iPad and buy one. You will remove the microSIM that is now in the iPad and replace it with the one you get in China. This is assuming you do not have a Verizon iPad.
