How to use iTunes installed in PC as video converter

I just got new ipad & understood that video format other than .mov & .mp4 will not play in Ipads.  Somewhere I read that the iTunes software installed in my windows PC can do the conversion job  from avi to mp4  format, so that after that  it can be synced from PC to Ipad through iTunes.
Based on above suggestion, I tried to import the avi file into  my iTunes library of  PC from PC  D-Drive.  But it doesn't happen and I didn't get any errro too.
It just looks blank...  Need your support to conver the avi files to mp4 using itunes and appreciate your help.

In I tunes, connect the pad, and pull up the movies tab.  Move whatever video you want into that library, either by dragging, or include the library in I tunes.
Then at the top of I tunes, click on advanced tab.  One of the choices is 'create I pad version'.  I think you need to have the specific file checked.   When I did this it took several of my old avi snippets, and created new files that synced and played on the pad.
This will not deal will all files, and you may need a different converter.  I am am Mac guy, so my converter won't work for you, but there are plenty of pc based converters lying around.
To get the video to show up in iTunes, try the advanced tab, then sync.

    how to use itune ?

    Hi Rashid,
To use itunes for Ur iPhone click http://www.apple.com/itunes/how-to/#video-sync
    Setting up syncing
    Tutorial:
Before setting up syncing you should download and install the latest version of iTunes. Wi-Fi syncing requires iTunes 10.5 or later and iOS 5 or later. You can change your sync options at any time. Each time you sync, content is synced between your iOS device and computer to reflect new, updated, or deleted content.
    USB syncing
    Open iTunes.
Connect the iOS device to your computer using the included USB cable and select it in iTunes under Devices on the left-hand side:
Some tabs may not appear if you do not have corresponding content in your library. For example, if you do not have any podcasts in your library, the corresponding Podcast tab will not appear.
Click Apply, in the lower-right corner of the screen, to sync.
    Wi-Fi syncing
    Open iTunes
To set up Wi-Fi syncing, connect your iOS device to your computer with the included USB cable. Select your device under Devices on the left-hand side.
In the Summary tab, select "Sync with this [device] over Wi-Fi".
Whenever the computer and the iOS device are on the same network, the iOS device will appear in iTunes, and you can sync it. The iOS device will sync automatically when all of the following are true:
The iOS device is plugged in to power
iTunes is open on the computer
The iOS device and the computer are on the same Wi-Fi network
While the iOS device appears in the left-hand column of iTunes, you can select the content tabs and configure sync options.
Click Apply or Sync to sync the iOS device.
If the iOS device does not appear in the Devices section or you are unable to sync, please see this article for troubleshooting.
    What you can sync
    Applications
Audio content—music, podcasts, audiobooks, and iTunes U content
    Bookmarks
    Books
    Contacts
    Calendars
    Movies and TV shows
    Photos
    Notes
    Documents (File Sharing apps only)
    Ringtones
    Additional Information
The first time you sync the Info tab with your iOS device, you are asked if you want to merge data, replace data on the service, or replace the data on your computer from the following applications:
Mac: Address Book, iCal, Microsoft Entourage, or Microsoft Outlook 2011
PC: Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Addressbook (XP) and Windows Contacts (Vista and Windows 7)
For more information about syncing your device with your computer, see the user's guide or see this article.

I'm sorry, but there is nothing that I can do to help you with this situation. I don't know why, but many people have problems when they try to buy gems in the Clash of Clans game. Personally, I wouldn't touch the game with a ten foot pole, but that's just my opinion.
You will have to contact iTunes Store Support and ask for their help. You can email them from here.

Question: is there supposed to be a iCloud symbol next to every song that matches in iTunes?  I only have "unavailable to match" clouds.
No. Tracks will only have a cloud in the "iCloud Download" column if they are unprocessed by iTM. If a track is deleted from the iTunes library and is available for download there will be a slightly different cloud icon in that column with an arrow pointing down to incidate it is available to download.
Tracks that have been processed or are resident in the iTunes library will have nothing in the "iCloud Download" column.

If your iPhone is disabled, then you must use iTunes on your computer to restore iOS. You don't have to be an expert using iTunes, just follow the instructions here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1414

  • How to Use iTunes Library in older version

I updated to the latest version of iTunes and I do not like it.  I went throught the trouble to move iTunes to another disk so I could download a the previous version of iTunes.  When I finally got the older iTunes installed, it was unable to use my iTunes library because the library was somehow updated by the never version of iTunes.  What a pain.
So, I'm back where I started and having to learn how to use the new iTunes.
I was more than happy with the previous version of iTunes that I had (I think that was 10. something)....
I would like to try again to go back to it...if someone can tell me how to get around the library problem.
Otherwise, I guess I'll just have to learn to live with the changes and do the extra work involved with using the new iTunes.
Is this a luxury problem?  If so, I guess I'm just a spoiled baby boomer.  Wah!

In your case you will want to set the iPod to "Manual Update". THis option will allow you to connect the iPod to a computer and will not auto update so songs are lost. when your iPod is on this setting you can use iTUnes to dran and drop songs from the PC to your iPOd (Not the reverse).
To set the iPod to manual, connect the iPOd to your PC, rightclick, and select "iPod Options" here you will switch from "Auto Update" to "Manual". When you change this and hit OK you will get a pop up telling you you have to manually eject the iPod while on this setting. this is normal.
To get songs off an iPOd onto a PC you will have to use either a third party program to copy songs already put on it by iTUnes, Or you will have to set the iPod to "Disk Mode" and use windows exploer to copy songs from the PC and onto another. you can go here to iLounge to read on how to use thrid party program to copy from iPod to PC http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/articles/comments/copying-music-from-ipod-to-co mputer/

  • How to use itunes with music all on external drive?

I have a PC laptop - with Itunes installed. I have a LOT of music all organized neatly on an external drive.
Itunes folders obviously live on the internal drive, but music is all on external (not enough room on internal).
I can dump the folder from the external drive onto itunes, and all the music is there - great.
But I dont ALWAYS have that drive connected - and sometimes I open itunes when its not - for my phone sync or to buy something
    from the itunes store.
I have done this for years, and only in more recent years has this become a problem - when I connect the drive, it has lost all the links to the
music on it. I go into "preferences/advanced" - and tell it to look at the folder on the external drive - and it looks like its re-establishing the links - but it still does not. This only used to happen rarely - and I would have to clear itunes, then drop the folder again - but now it does it every time that I re-attach the drive after I have used itunes when it was NOT attached.
I have to clear all my musis and then drop the folder again - which takes a while - I have tens of thousands of songs.
    please help!
    Thanks!

Try to use instructions for consolidating library from here, see if that helps. At some point I have noticed, especially with huge library it gets hard for itunes to keep information about different locations, unless you have external drive plugged permanently.

  • How to use iTunes with an external hard drive?

    Hi-
I'm pretty new to iTunes, so forgive me if this is a stupid question. I have about 15GB worth of music saved onto my laptop now and taking up a ton of space. So I got an 80GB external hard drive to move everything onto. What I don't understand, though, is what happens after I save my music onto the external hard drive and remove from my laptop hard drive. How do I play music in iTunes from the files stored on the external hard drive?
    Thanks in advance!!

Welcome to discussions! Even though this is the "using iTunes music store" forum, for questions & issues using the store, I can go ahead & offer a little advice. This link from MacMuse will explain about moving iTunes to a new drive. The most important point being is you must tell iTunes the location of the iTunes music folder on the EHD. Please post back if you have any questions.

  • How to use an install.xpi configuration file to set up email data

Manual setup of my email account failed because Thunderbird searches for my domain name and it is not in its database. So my host provider gave me an auto-config file for Thunderbird for my email account, called install.xpi - But how do I use this file? I can't double-click on it in Windows to do anything. In Thunderbird program it wants to create a new account but I can't do anything else in it like file import.
How to use install.xpi file so it creates my email account with the proper setup variables? Thanks for your help.

Start Thunderbird, close the wizard, goto the Tools menu (alt+T) select add-ons
There's a tiny button to the left of the search window. Click this and select Install Add-on From File and Navigate to your xpi file, select it, and off you go.
