How to use Labview ""buttons"" to functioning the program?

i'm trying to use the ok button to operate the program to add the value in the cluster X Y (millemetre) [which is from the machine vision operation] with the value X Y offset [which i gonna input them myself] but .. i dont' know how to make it done , now i'm trying to use event structure but it's not working
plz give me some advice thanks ... by the way i'm got to make this thing done by 3 days due to my project schedule ... thank you
also this software is to locate the orientation for robot to grip the object by using CCD camera

Place the Event structure inside a while loop. Have a look at some of the examples that ship with LV, they for sure show this.
Then use the value change event for the ok button (place the button's terminal in that fram to have the latching behaviour set correctly).
You can pass the data of XY to the loop output in the same event frame to read it at the very moment, the ok button is pressed.

You can use LV to create a fully working program with an interface of your design, just like you would in any other compiler. LV actually serves as a compiler for a graphical language called G, which is based on dataflow instead of text based execution (the data "flows" through wires from one function to the next, controlling execution order and filling the role of variables).
Since LV is multiplatform (and not MS), its default controls are not identical to those in VC and VB, but those can be accessed to. Actually, in many ways, it's much easier to build an interface in LV, because building the interface actually defines your "variables" and your interaction with the code.
An interface would be no good without a program, so you will have to know how to use LV. It's much faster to learn than other languages, but you will still need some experience to write good programs.
To learn more, I suggest you start by reading the LabVIEW user manual. Also, try searching this site and google for LabVIEW tutorials. Here and here are a couple you can start with. You can also contact your local NI office and join one of their courses.
In addition, I suggest you read the LabVIEW style guide.
If your question was only about MS buttons, like in VB and VC, you can find them in the Dialog Controls palette, or you can use ActiveX to embed them into your program.

How to use SUBMIT key word in the program in the program

Hello Folks,
                 I want use SUBMIT statment in the program for calling the other program. My query is
I have one report named REPORT1 and I am using the SUBMIT statment in this report to call the second report named as REPORT2. The flow of the program is I excute the first report REPORT1 and entr the value on selection screen of REPORT1, selection screen is having one parameter. then SUBMIT statment comes into picture to call the second report REPORT2 in this second report, I would like to pass the selection screen value of first report REPORT1.
      I want to know how to pass the selection screen value of the first REPORT1 to second REPORT2.
Anyone please guide me in this regards.

Try this report.
Create two reports namely ztry, ztry1 as below.
Run report ztry.
When you run report ztry,
ztry1 will get excuted first(through 'submit'),
getting values from report ztry through 'import' and 'get parameter'.

I installed PTPublisher on a virtual machine, and I was wondering what kind of tasks you wanted to control within LabVIEW. From the program GUI, it appears like the only way to access functions is via mouse clicks. Do you know of any other way to control the Bravo II CD burner besides the PTPublisher software? If not, does the PTPublisher allow you to control it in some way other than clicking?

How to Use an Image to Customize the Static Button Widget

Can I just get someone to help me figure out how to use an image to customize the static button widget, please?
I have tried using several different types of images, but none of them seem to actually change the appearance of the button.

I tried to use the tools within the widget itself - it offers you the opportunity to use an image (see screenshot below).
I also opened it in Flash and tried to replace the images for one of the button styles there w/ my own, but in re-publishing the SWF from there I broke the widget. When I attempted to use the edited widget, there were no customization controls available after I inserted it (see screenshot two below).

I'm assuming you're talking about this, since you didn't provide a link for those of us who don't know what you're talking about.
As the other poster said, you didn't say how you want to use LabVIEW with it. If you want to write LabVIEW programs than run on the microprocessor, then you're out of luck. If you want LabVIEW to interact with it, then you've got a couple of options, SPI probably being the best, but it also has DI and AI that you could use to communicate with it - the DI's could be used as a parallel interface.

How to use a button in a required field

Hi,
this is my scenario:
1) In a Form I have two Blocks
2) In the first, I use a text Item for the customer code, with the required property set to true and with a trigger WHEN-VALIDATE-ITEM
3) In the second block, I use a button that call the 'show_lov' function in order to display the list of the customers.
If the focus is out of the first block, I can use the button without problems.
If the focus is on the customer code Item and I try to use the serch button, the alert message "Field required" is displayed and I don't be able to use the function in the button.
Exist a method in order to use my button when the focus is in the required customer item?
If Yes, how can perform this ?

When you set Required = Yes, you're telling Forms not to allow the user to navigate away from the item until they enter a required value. That's the way Forms is designed.
If you don't like that behavior (and I'm one that doesn't), I rarely use Required = Yes. Instead, I write the code to check for a required value in the PRE-COMMIT trigger. If the item doesn't have a value, I set focus to the item, and then issue a RAISE Form_Trigger_Failure.
I'm sure there are other ways to do this, but that is just one technique.

You can write UDFs in java in Graphical mapping to enhance your XI Graphical mapping functionality
The steps for doing it would be:
1. Click on Create New function Button found on Bottom left corner on your XI Mapping window.
2. Write your java code.
3. Run the Mapping Test as usual.

How do i make is so that the program is running already and then have a start button to execute?

I created a program to control a function generator. I want it so that the program is already running when i load it up, and then when i actually want it to run press a start button. I think you can just do a case structure for the start button... but how do i get it so that the program is running when you load it. so when you press the start button it starts. instead of having to press the start button, then press the run program button. thanks!

A few things about Run When Opened. Once this is set, if you need to edit the vi, it will start running when you open it. You then have to abort the vi to edit it. Some people like to make a backup copy that is not set to run when opened so they can edit it without the hassle of aborting. In your case, it is probably not worth it since your vi does nothing until the start button is pressed. But this is for future instances of run when opened. Also, if you want to edit, I think if you press and hold the shift key (or is it the control key) while opening the vi, it will not run when opened. Another method to get around the run when opened is to create a blank vi. In the block diagram, put your vi that is set to run when opened. Then you can double click on the vi and edit it without having it run when opened.

The Java Function Activity Agent is not certified for Oracle Workflow embedded in Oracle Applications. Installing standalone workflow should be a lot easier than what you have found, although it looks like you did hit a Pentium 4 issue with the Oracle Universal Installer. I suggest you contact Oracle Support or Oracle Consulting for assistance.
