How to use other webcam?

I'm sorry if my topic is a bit vague, not sure how else to word it. Anyway, I was wondering how to use a different webcam (logitech)? It came with a disc so I can install the software, but how do I make it my default?

Let us know what model Logitech cam you have. And see if it's listed here:

I'm assuming you've checked preferences and the webcam does or does not show up as a choice? Probably the disc that you have has MS drivers only. If so, you might consider the above link/product.

Thanks for your post. Vision Assistant is a good software package to prototype your system, but it does not give you access to all Vision methods. LabVIEW is much more powerful allowing full access to Vision. You may want to use Vision Assistant to play with the algorithms (you can use your mouse to set regions of interest, etc) and then once you find the methods and parameters that work, implement the code in LabVIEW.

Friends i bough Macbook air. This is my first apple laptop. I am totally new to this.
I was trying to use my Webcam for using Skype and yahoo . Unfortunately the test call shows no webcam availale. When i try to do simple facetime the cam is working.
Can you please guide me steps in which i can access built in webcam for both yahoo and skype.

Restart Mac and try some Apple camera apps that came with your Mac. If they work, see Skype help or yahoo help for help for these non-Apple apps.

How to use other jar with my executable

I'm developing project in JBuilder which uses BC library "bcprov-jdk15-137.jar" This jar I got in reguired libraries section and it work fine in case that I run my application through JBuilder. Now I created executable jar file for my application but it works wrong. I don't know what dependencies shall I setup in JBuilder
Can somebody help how can I run my application from jar file and I will use BC lilbrary without problem ?.

I created new project(Frame application) in JBuilder 2006, Im using mentioned library therefore I put it into reguired libraries in project setting. When I run application through JBuilder (F9) it works fine.
Now I would create executable jar file from my project, which will use this mentioned library. My project has one class CMTModule.class with main function. I created jar file via achrive wizard(AppletJAR). There are options of dependency rules in this wizard, so I choose Includes dependencies. Then I created manifest file and insert this item Main-Class: cmt.CMTModule.
My application start but works wrong , I mean that there is problem with necessary library is not imported. How can I set up it in order to my executable jar can use this library without problems, because in JBuilder all works fine.
What's is wrong ?

that is saleshistory has more than one record of empid in it.
empcode is number(9,0) and empname is varchar2(200), sales number(10,5),empid is number(10,0)

or
select empid, sum(sales), empname,empcode from saleshistory
group by empid ,empname,empcode ;
i want to find the total amout of sales done by each employee with empid,empname,empcode in select list.

This sounds like a job for the analytic SUM function.
Since you didn't post CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements for your own table, I can't test with your table. I'll show how to do his using the scott.emp table instead. In scott.emp, there can any number of rows with the same job, just as in your table there can be any number of rows for the same empid.

If you want to connect and use an iPod on more than one computer you need to change the update preference in the iPod Summary tab to "Manually manage music and videos" and click Apply. In this mode you just drag and drop whatever you want to the iPod from either library. Something else to be aware of when using an iPod in manual mode is that the "Do Not Disconnect" message will remain on the display until you physically eject the device. As I don't have an instruction book for this computer, can anyone tell me how to get the webcam to work please?
There is supposed to be something that pops up from the side of the screen, but I've left the mouse sit there for ages on all sides and nothing. Please assist me.

There used to be a bar at the side that popped up when you left the mouse sit there for a bit. It no longer pops up ... ie: it's disappeared and will not return ... this is what "started" the webcam for use as a webcam.
I have no idea on how to use the webcam from any other place. There is no icon. There is no mention of it in the programs list. There is nothing. There is a webcam sitting there in the laptops lid, but I can't find where to "access it". Like I said there is no icon, nothing in the programs list.
I want to be able to use it. You know, like you use a webcam. On the web, as a camera. No particular website or software that I have in mind.

JDB has a good documentation bundled with standard JSE distribution. But simple multi-threaded server code could be much easier to debug by you own eyes, I think.

Xalan XML thru Web Start - how to include other classes

I have an JAVA Swing application which needs an xml output, it creates an XML file which has to be stored in the clients hard drive. Though i have finished it, the application runs perfectly in the swing, if i deploy it using Java Webstart, the classes are not found,
The classes for xercers and xalan or not understood by webstart, how do i include these classes too. Could any1 throw some light on how to use other classes too in webstart applications.

Depends on the version of the JRE you are supporting. If you are using 1.4 you should be able to get it to work with the classes shipped with it.
If you really want to use the Xerces parser you will have to include the following in your .jnlp file.
<jar href="xerces.jar" download="eager"/>
<property name="javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilderFactory" value="org.apache.xerces.jaxp.DocumentBuilderFactoryImpl"/>
This forces the runtime to use Xerces instead of a locally available XML parser.
