How to use search option using TREX.

How can i have a search option in the portal page where in a user types for some keyword and the results are displayed accordingly.

Noticed the following feature which was Scheduled for Release 1.5 is missing.

This feature could save a lot of time on code reading/review/....

You can use the search on the read only (normal mode) of the PL/SQL Editor. Either through menu or using ctrl F.
The other is still an enhancement and is being tracked.

You can do this with the help of collective search help.
Collective search helps:- Combination of elementary search helps. When we need to fetch data based on multiple selection criteriau2019s. More than one tables are Selection from multiple tables
Steps for creating collective search help.
1) Enter the search help name and click on create.
2) Choose Collective search help radio button option as the search help type.
3) Enter the search help parameters.
Note that there is no selection method to be entered for a collective search help.
4) Instead of the selection method, we enter the included search helps for the collective search help.
5)We need to assign parameters for each of the included search helps.
6) Complete the parameter assignment by clicking on the push button.
7) Collective search help offers the user to obtain F4 help using any of the included search helps.

Can you elaborate a little more?
Do you mean ADF Entity objects or EJB entities from tables?
For ADF Entities -
You can create Business components from tables wizard from the New gallery and follow the steps. This creates your entites which are xml files and also view objects for which data controls get created, which you can then use in your jspx.
For EJB entities though you need to create a session bean or a service facade.

EBS- How to map search string using wild card

Hi Gurus
I got two similar string on bank statement which needs to be mapped to two different posting rules.
MV-WORLDPAY- 1805 MOTO
MV-WORLDPAY -1805 WEB
in above string 1805 could be any no,( it is not fix no). I have tried using different wildcards and symbols like
+,*,?,# but it is not piciking the right posting rule, also search string use is also activated. so please guide me.

Try keeping the 1st two digits of search string as b;ank. i.e. ############ (12 digits) mapped to __##########. I used underscore to denote balnk space. Using this when you recevie say 000000001618 (12 digits), it will be mapped to 0000001618 (10 digits). Then your interpretation algo will use this 10 digit number.

Error using 'Search' option in Planning.

Hi,
when i expand my webforms list on the left side of the Planning interface i am able to see all the folders expected.
on selecting one of those folders say 'x' i get a list of forms under 'x' which is fine .
But when i type the name of webform which is placed under folder 'x' in Search option which at bottom right side of the planning interface,
I get an the error ' exception occured. you dod not have sufficient access to view this page'.
But the point over here is if i am able to see and access the webform while searching for same webform why i am i getting this error.
can anybody help me on this?

The location of this GPO in Windows Server 2008 should be:
User Configuration\Administrative
Templates\Windows Components\Internet Explorer\Browser menus
Enable the Group Policy “Tools
menu: Disable Internet Options… menu option”

How to remove Search Option and Portal favorites

Hi Experts,
I created two roles 1 & 2. and url iviews for BW reports and url iview for our company intranet home page.
I assigned/published all BW Iviews to role 1 and iview of intranet home page to role 2.
Now i got couple of cosmetic changes that i need to do on Role 2/intranet Iview to maximize the viewing area and give the look and feel of a web site.
1) How can i remove the bar that shows title of ivew and 3 options "History","Back","Farward" and "Options"
2) There is a search/Advanced search option above the roles(tabs) and below the Master Head...how can i remove that option.
3) How to remove Portal Favirate option in the navigational pannel

Our project is developed using Forms and Reports
In Forms for triggers we are using Pl/SQl language.
DOUBT
IN a form we require an option like search button when we press the search button a small window must be opened.This window should contain details from database(ie an entire column of database,must be displayed in the window ) and the user selects the value from the window.

We are using the split development model is WL8.1 are are using ant, specifically
ant target wlcompile for development. How does one specify for example a valueObjectSuffix
option for ejbgen, when auto generating value class(es) for CMP Entity Beans ?
Using ejbgen, the ant snippet below looks somewhat like:

 <param name="-jndiPrefix" value="......"/>
 <param name="-valueObjectSuffix" value="MyValue"/>
 <param name="-propertyFile" value="..."/>
 </doclet>

Unfortunately there's not a great integration between wlcompile and
ejbgen. There is already an enhancement request CR107150 for this one.
wlcompile only calls EJBGen on files which whose extension is .ejb. If
yours are .java, then you can just call ejbgen yourself after wlcompile
completes.
There's other approaches, (like wrapping the real EJBGen with your own
version that sets specific options) that would also work but require
more leg work from you.

How to set Excel Options using crystal reports 2008

I am trying to figure out CR 8.5 (Crystal report control) Equivalents in Crystal reports 2008 using crystal report viewer in .Net but not able to find the exact replacments.
Properties used in CR 8.5
CRAXDRT.ExportOptions.ExcelUseWorksheetFunctions=True
CRAXDRT.ExportOptions.ExcelUseTabularFormat =True
CRAXDRT.ExportOptions.SetLogOnInfo(1,3,4,5)
Please let me know the replacements for the above mentioned properties in .Net using crystal report viewer (CR 2008)

The code that has been provided is of Report Designer Component.
RDC has been deprecated in Crystal Reports 2008.
Use the 'ExcelFormatOptions' class. It provides many options regarding exporting in an excel format.
