How to use Sprout to do vector image tracing of jpg images using Adobe Illustrator or Canvas?

How can you project jpg images on the touch screen and trace from them into a vector draw program such as Adobe Illustrator or Canvas?  Can one do such tracing with the magnetic pen on the touch pad.  Can one use the magnetic pen on the touch pad much like a mouse in such programs?
In general how well can one use Sprout with programs like Canvas and Illustrator?

I believe if you export it to wmf or emf you will have a Vector file that can be used in word or powerpoint and can be placed in other programs as can ai files which can be placed in word or powerpoint documents as vector files.
Flash (swf) is another way of saving it and it is also vector.
However even though you say you will never have use for Illustrator which is what I thought in 1995 when I use it to create a logo, I soon found more use for it and every year since have found a project that has rewarded me many times the cost of the application once I had purchased it. Most of which I never thought I had the need for and probably would not have even made the attempt to make the effort and the profit if I did not own the license.
And every time I say to myself what do i have this application for the opportunities arises yet again.
I thought I would share my experience with you.

  • How to change a LR5 .psd image to a .jpg image?

How do I change an LR 5 .psd image to a .jpg image?

You can’t “change” a PSD to a JPG, but you can make a copy of the PSD image in the JPG format using the LR File / Export or using PS’s File / Save As.  Be aware that a JPG is a lossy format so you’ll lose something when you save as JPG, so use a high-quality to avoid losing too much.
If “change” means something else then explain in more detail.

  • I need help dividing an image into two equal parts in Adobe Illustrator CC--ASAP!!!

I need help dividing a single, already created image into 2 equal parts...Am getting nowhere so far

Hi Willi, thanks so much for responding! Below is the image I need to divide in half. The left half where it says "Click here for the definition" links to a landing page where people can read the definition of the Hebrew Word. The right half links to an audio recording of the Hebrew word being spoken aloud. I am trying to figure out how to use the scissors or knife tool in Adobe Illustrator and am having no luck. Plus I believe there's a way to include URLs on each separated part, but I can't get past figuring out how to cut it. My background is not graphic design

In it's simplest form, it's two lines of code.
    BufferedImage bi = ImageIO.read(/*the tif file*/);

  • How to save picture in a WORD doc as a jpg image?

I have a WORD doc file where there is a picture that I want to crop and then save as a jpg file for further editing.  When I tried to open this doc file in PSE, I got an error message saying PSE could not open this type of file (doc).  But in WORD I am not able to save as a jpg. Thanks.

Try saving your document as a web page (File>Save as Web Page)
to your desktop and then inside the folder named after your document should be the
picture file, which can be opened in photoshop elements.

I was wondering if there is or is a way for example to untick a setting so that I can turn off anti-aliasing for some shapes, and leave anti-aliasing on for other shapes?

thank you that was really helpful, and the shape is still editable and movable, great! thank you!

  • JPG images bloat CFDocument PDF 10X

We're creating PDF files using the CFDocument tag. We're
including JPG images in the document. The JPG files are 1MB in file
size total but the resulting PDF file is 11+ MEGs (10X). I've been
searching the forums and Internet but I'm having trouble finding
anything about this. All I could find on the topic is something
about duplicate color spaces but it didn't solve anything.
Note that if I open the file in Acrobat, I can
compress/optimize it down to less than 1 MEG but that's not a
practical solution programming-wise. I wish there was a way to call
Acrobat from CF to take advantage of the optimization feature.
Does anyone know of a fix or work around for this? We'll be
generating thousands of PDFs and this will be a big problem. Do you
know of an alternate way to generate PDF files from CF. OR how
about a command line utility or CFX for compressing PDF files?

How do you use it, as a service on the server watching a
folder and doing bulk optimizations, or file-by-file from
    CF?

  • Portal Server does not gateway .GIF images.  Only .JPG

    Hello,
When using .GIF images, images appear as broken images (red x).JPG images work just fine. This happens in every regard including applications that are gatewayed using Hosted Display mode (but not limited to that.) .GIF images in content server don't come through either. Any ideas?

  • Can i create program, using Adobe Illustrator SDK, which would understand *.ai file format (cs versi

I need to write converter from cs ai files to my own format.
Can i use Adobe Illustrator SDK for creating such a program?
Is there in SDK libraries, which would be used for reading by program cs ai file format?
Must Adobe Illustrator be installed for such a program would work?

Well, if Idraw can do it you would need to figure out which format it likes (probably tiff would be my guess), save in that format and open the image there and proceed with however it works. The only useful advice I can offer is that jpg is a poor choice for any image that includes text. It will be fuzzy.

Also keep in mind that there are two definitions of bitmap. You want the 2-color version where each bit represents one color or the other. However, thanks to Microsoft, their bitmaps are really just uncompressed strings of RGB values, storing each pixel in multiple bits.

File>Open to open your eps file
File>Export to export your image as a jpg.
In the export dialog box just below where you type in the filename is a file type, that is where you choose jpg.
What ever you do, do not delete the eps file. Should you ever need to access the original you will have have.
I recommend that instead of jpg you choose psd, tiff, or png and use jpg only for sharing. Jpg is a lossy format meaning each time you edit the file and save it, the quality of that file degrades. The formats I recommend are lossless formats, you can edit them all you want no data is being discarded unless you choose to do so.

  • How to allow users to post an image in a PDF form using their IPADS

    Hello,
I need help with a work project.  I need to create forms for our trainers to use on site.  I have Adobe XI Pro and can do the basics, however I would love for the trainers to be able to submit photo's, video etc with their PDF forms.  Can anyone tell me how I can get Adobe XI Pro to insert an image field, so when the trainers are conducting an assessment they can take a photo with their ipad and embed into a designated area on the form?  I would be ever so grateful.

The only PDF Viewer on the iPad that I know supports this is Readdle's PDF Expert. Adobe Reader for iOS does not. It involves using the buttonImportIcon JavaScript method. More information here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/6037991

  • I have installed a trial of Adobe illustrator on my macbook pro. I want to trace an image using the custom trace button but can't. Does anyone have any ideas how I could custom trace?

I have installed a trial of Adobe illustrator on my macbook pro. It is the 2014 release of adobe illustrator. I want to trace an image using the custom trace button.
I start a new document. Then I place my scanned pencil/colored pencil drawing, in to the document. I have tried scanning and then placing it as a jpeg, bitmap, and tiff file. I have tried scanning and then placing it, in color and in black and white. The scan mode I use is flatbed. Adobe illustrator allows me to select the default button and one of eleven preset buttons (e.g high fidelity photo), but it does not allow me to click the custom trace button. The custom trace button is grey while all the other buttons are white.
Does anyone have any ideas how I could custom trace?

It seems pointless to adjust it afterwards because it is then only a couple a pencil lines rather then a full drawing. And how do I adjust it afterwards? Would I do this using the different buttons under the window button?
