How to use the alpha option in layer grading?
Which is the reason for the alpha option? I ask because none of the shoot for any camera has alpha. The only images with alpha are CGI generated, as far as I am aware. Then, the alpha option is only for grade CGI images?
Yes, it's possible, but it hasn't sense: the keyed objects are composed in a compositor as After or Nuke, and once already well integrated with the background, the resulting images are ready for grading.

I am using the video editing software "Magix Video deluxe 2008 Pro". Is it correct that after buying Quicktime Pro I can use all features from the Pro version via the export window of my video editing software (which is already offering me Quicktime export with the free QT-version)?
I have a movie made with greenscreen and in my video editing software I have already seperated the person in front from the greenscreen. Now, how do I tell Quicktime, which parts should be transparent, so that Quicktime "knows" what information to write in the alpha channel?

NilsI don't know about the software you used. If it made the "alpha" channel then you can enable it in QuickTime Pro by following these steps:
Open the file and then open the Movie Properties window.
Highlight the "Video" track and click the Visual Settings tab.
In the lower left corner is a pull down menu for "Transparency". Set it to Straight Alpha and use Save As to make a new file leaving your original untouched for further editing. -

The "-R" option is there to allow to manipulate zones in an alternate Boot Environment (BE). The parameter that you should use is the mount point of the alternate BE.
Mount the alternate BE in a separate directory with beadm command and then you can use the zoneadm command with this option. -

It comes from AddressBook.
To add it via your Mac: Open Address Book, select an entry, click the edit button, then in the AddressBook menu (across the top of the screen), select "Card" -> "Add Field" -> "Birthday". Fill in the details & save. (note: on the Mac's iCal application preferences there is a checkbox to indicate whether you want the "Birthdays" calendar displayed.
To add it via your iPhone: Open "Contacts" (or view Contacts from the Phone application). Select an entry and tap "Edit". Scroll all the way to the bottom and click the "+" button next to "add field". Select "Birthday" then fill in the details & save the entry. -

Was that iTunes' safe mode as opposed to Windows' safe mode? iTunes safe mode is invoked by holding down CTRL+SHIFT immediately after clicking the icon to launch iTunes and continuing to hold until this message pops up:
Click continue, then close iTunes and reopen. With luck iTunes now opens normally every time.

Normally simply pressing them should do what you want, F10 to mute; F11 to decrease volume; F12 to increase volume. However, it's possible that you have a box ticked in Keyboard preferences which modifies the behaviour of the keys, requiring you to also hold down the Fn key (bottom left key on the keyboard) to enable the function.
Check System Preferences>Keyboard to makes sure the box indicated in the image isn't ticked. -
My video needs to go on a SD single layer DVD…it is 1h 51m long…the only way I can make it fit is encode H. 264…not ideal…I am using the Share option in FCP…native media was shot 980x720...any other way to do this??
To play on DVD Players, it has to be MPEG2.
It's under 2 hours; I'm surprised it won't fit. If not, get Compressor and lower the bit rate to fit.
The native resolution was 980X720…you mean 960?
It will all be resized to 720X480, which is DVD standard.
