How to use the value in a text cell?

Hi everyone i am new to this forum. My family and i have been macusers for more than 10 years and for our business we own many macs. I am trying to build a stock list calculator and want to ask something.
My B3 cell contains the text "50*70cm" and i want to see the value of 50*70 which is "3500" in the D3 cell. And when i change the B3 cell for example to "70*100cm" i want to see "7000" in the D3. Is there any function for this? Thank you.

IF: the operator used is ALWAYS x
AND the unit used in ALWAYS cm
AND there are NO spaces in the entry,

If the unit is separated from the rest of the expression, change the single "c" to " " and the formula becomes independent of the unit.

If you wish to use an asterisk as the multiplication sign, rather than an x, that seems to also work. Replace the three x characters with asterisks.
While this formula works, my own preference would be to use separate columns for width and length, indicate the units only at the top of the columns, express all lengths in the same units, and enter only the numbers into the two columns. Your formula in D3 (or E3, when a new column was added before or after B) then would be
=B*C
and would be somewhat more forgiving of finger errors.

I'm sorry, I dont have the perfect solution.
I ceated a UDT [@Params] or UDF where the user has to insert the values for XL Reports (for exampel CardCode). After the User inserted the value he can start the XL-Report which are reading from this UDT or UDF the value into the GetData function. You must only insert a query into the condition of GetData :
=ixGetData("manager"; "RLH6J"; "Pelissari.dbo.RelContas_a_Receber"; " CardCode, CardName"; " CardCode = (SELECT Name FROM [@Params] WHERE ID='XL-CardCode')")
If you will find some other possibilty please let me know.

For example in addition to the Party1 and Party2 name appearing in my droplist I also want the list to have an option for a user to select: The parties jointly. I add this to the script:

After hiding an item, its value cannot be used in a query. How to use the value of a hidden item.

I have a shuttle. I am using its value in a query by using sql collection array. My requirement is that I need to hide that shuttle. But when I hide the shuttle, its value is not retrived by the query.
Please give some idea how to get this functionality.

You don't create an application item of shuttle type. Application items only hold one value, and I thought since you were using a value in a query that you were only using one. In the case of multiple values my idea to use a page/application item will not work

Create a counter and increment it every time when it comes to rs.next
Set ids for the text box with the value of the counter.
eg: textbox1 , textbox2
the 1 and 2 shld be created by the counte just append the count value to the string and set it as id of the new text box dinamically created.
then get the ement by id and get its value and do the process.

How to use the onchoose in ajax text completion

I have tried many many ways but still not able to get it right.. basically i just want to use the onchoose event to call my javascript function and then my function will use the selected value for some further processing. I have tried something like...

But seems like the event is gone after calling the alert and the selected value never appears in the ajax text field. Anyone out there has tried this? Hope have some suggestions. Thanks.

I dont know how to use the separate symbol to make a paragraph separate into several lines correctly in the text field in the adobe form.
Action:
1. config the ADS successfully.
2. create the adobe form with a mult-line textfield(binding the 'remark' context in the interface of the form) using sfp.
3. create a WDA for invoke the form and transfer the 'remark' context data.
I use the following codes to display the paragraph in the PDF document:
CONCATENATE
'1、aaaaaaaaaaa；'
'2、bbbbbbbbb '
'3、ccccccccccc'
'4、ddddddddd'

If it is just a one word value then you could use this in the exist event;
this.rawValue
= util.printx(">?<*",this.rawValue);
This changes the first character (represented by the ?) to uppercase (represented by the >) and all trailing characters (represented by the *) to lowercase (represented by the <).
If you wanted something more general ... if they could also enter a middle name then you could call a function like;
function toTitleCase(textValue)
return textValue.toLowerCase().replace(/\b[a-z]/g, function replacer(match) { return match.toUpperCase(); });
This uses a regex to change all lowercase letters following a word boundary to uppercase.

How to get the value of an input text in a table

all,
i have an adf table component on my jsf page and i added an input text component to one of the table columns. how do i access the value of that input text in my backing bean? normally, i would just do a getValue(), but because the input text is in the table i'm assuming it has to be treated as an array somehow.
any help would be appreciated,

I found a solution to fetching the column values. I created a transient attribute on my view object and bound my column to the transient attribute. Then I used this post from Duncan Mills

to get to the data by looping through the table rows.
However, I'd still like to use the value from this transient attribute in logic to populate some other columns in the table. I
for example, here's the content of what's submitted:

In my backing bean I'd like to get the rows from the table and read the value of the transient attribute, pass it through a function, and set the value of the column phone to some value for each row. Then have that processed to update the db. Is this possible?

How to set the value of an array element (not the complete array) by using a reference?

My situation is that I have an array of clusters on the front panel. Each element is used for a particular test setup, so if the array size is three, it means we have three identical test setups that can be used. The cluster contains two string controls and a button: 'device ID' string, 'start' button and 'status' string.
In order to keep the diagrams simple, I would like to use a reference to the array as input into a subvi. This subvi will then modify a particular element in the array (i.e. set the 'status' string).
The first problem I encounter is that I can not select an array element to write to by using the reference. I have tried setting the 'Selection s
tart[]' and 'Selection size[]' properties and then querying the 'Array element' to get the proper element.
If I do this, the VI always seems to write to the element which the user has selected (i.e. the element that contains the cursor) instead of the one I am trying to select. I also have not found any other possible use for the 'Selection' properties, so I wonder if I am doing something wrong.
Of course I can use the 'value' property to get all elements, and then use the replace array element with an index value, but this defeats the purpose of leaving all other elements untouched.
I had hoped to use this method specifically to avoid overwriting other array elements (such as happens with the replace array element) because the user might be modifying the second array element while I want to modify the first.
My current solution is to split the array into two arrays: one control and one indicator (I guess that's really how it should be done ;-) but I'd still like to know ho
w to change a single element in an array without affecting the others by using a reference in case I can use it elsewhere.

It isn't possible to get a reference to a particular element within an
array. There is only one reference to the one control that represents
all elements in the array.
While it may seem better to use references to update
an element within
an array, it shouldn't really be necessary, and it can also lead to
race conditions. If you write to an element that has the
possibility of the user changing, whether you write with a local, a
reference, or any other means, there is a race condition between the
diagram and the user. LV will help with this to a certain extent,
especially for controls that take awhile to edit like ones that use
the keyboard. In these cases, if the user has already started entering
text, it will not be overwritten by the new value unless the key focus
is taken away from the control first. It is similar when moving a slider
or other value changes using the mouse. LV will write to the other values,
but will not rip the slider out of the user's hand.
To completely avoid race conditions, you can split the array into user
fields and indicators that are located underneath them. Or, if some
controls act as both, you can do like Excel. You don't directly type
into the cell. You choose w
hich cell to edit, but you modify another
location. When the edit is completed, it is incorporated into the
display so that it is never lost.

Can I use the value returned from a Text Function in another Formula?

I'm writing a report in Hyperion System 9 BI + Financial Reporting Studio version 9.2. I have 2 grids in my report.
Grid1 Column A is set up as a text function using the function type - <<GetCell("Grid2", 1, a, 1)>>. I would like to use the values returned from this text function in Column A (Grid 1) in a formula in Column B (Grid 1).
Is it possible to use the values returned in Column A of the text function in another formula? My report does not seem to recognize Column A as numerical values, even though the values to be returned are numerical.
If so, how do I recognize the values in Column A Grid 1 as numerical values and not text?

Yes you need to use the CALC_ERROR macro function to be able to test whether the last macro function returned an error. CALC_ERROR will return an 'X' if there an error occured during the execution of the last macro function.
You can use a macro similar to the following:

Let me explain how this works internally. The SAP system maintains a global variable g_flg_calc_error during the execution of macros in the planning book. The g_flg_calc_error variable will contain the value of f_calc_error that was set by the last macro function which executed. The ABAP coding of a planning book is something like this:

The CALC_ERROR macro function just checks the value of f_calc_error parameter (w/c in fact is the value of the g_flg_calc_error variable) and returns "true/X" if the f_calc_error was set to true by the last macro function.

For every process we creates, LC ES2 creates processID.
we know that if you creates a long lived process, all the values which are in proces will be stored some where in DB.
Here my requirement is by using processID I need to get all/some values/variables stored in database.
I am not able to get values using processID. Here I don't have clue on how to get the values.
Please tell me how to get the same by using Process Management. Link/guide would be helpful

Searchable means you can put a filter criteria on it (e.g. where amount > 50000)
Visible means you can add have this column returned as an output (and therefore you can add it as column in listview and see it in Task Details).
These two attributes were provided so that queries could be done against the process variables, but the exact contents of the variables are not allowed to be seen.

How to use the updated value in the same update statement

I just wonder how to use the updated new value of other column in the same udpate statement. I am using Oracle 11.2, and want to update the two columns with one update statement as following:
create table tb_test (id number(5), tot number(5), mon_tot number(5));
update tb_test set (tot = 15, mon_tot = tot *15) where id = 1;
...I would like to update both tot and mon_tot column, the value of mon_tot shall be determinted by the new value of tot.
