How to use Xcelsius tool in Desktop applications

This is shankar, from IMS CRM4 team in SAP. We have a requirement for interactive anlalytics in our product and found that Xcelisus is the correct approach.
Can you please clarify the following
1. How to use the Xcelsius tool in desktop applications.
2. Is Xcelsius Viewer free version available which can used only to view the interactive analytics. Xcelsius designer is not required for all the users.

Point 2 is very clear to me that we do not need any additional software to run the SWF files.
We have CRM Mobile offline product with Crystal reports integrated already. CRM Mobile Offline solution is a desktop application and there is no intutive analytics.
So i would like to know more on how to link the data (Excel or XML) to Xcelisus tool and get the output SWF file. Can it be done through the command line (without using Xcelsius designer) ??. Do we need to have any licensed version of Xcelisus for this task??
This will promote both our prodcut and BOBJ Xcelisus prodcut as well

The API documentation has a link at the top of every page that says "Index". If you follow that and look for toFront(), you will find it exists in java.awt.Window and javax.swing.JInternalFrame.
To use it in a Java application, create an object x of either of those two classes and write "x.toFront();".

If you have 10,000 or less, CATT is a reasonable method, but I would suspect that you have far more than that if you're needing to load transactions.
LSMW is probably a better way to go if you have more than 10k, but I am not familiar with LSMW

Look on your computer. Under the directory where your JDK is installed you'll find a "docs" directory. Under that there's a "tooldocs" directory and in that there's a file "tools.html". Look in there.

Hi, yes sorry I mean colour overlay.
Here's an example. If you fill a layer with the paint bucket tool using red. And then give that same layer a 'colour overlay' of blue. When you use the eye dropper tool it will give you the red colour. I was just wondering if there's a key I can press at the same time as using the eyedropper tool that will set the foreground colour (2 squares at the bottom of the tools toolbar) to blue in this case, rather than the underlying red.

The Portal Development Kit (<b>PDK</b>) provides documentation and examples with source code to demonstrate how to develop portal applications and portal content for the SAP NetWeaver Portal using the <b>SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio</b>.
PDK includes coding examples on the following topics:
*Creating Portal Components and Portal Services,Portal Profiles,Resources,Internationalization,Portal Beans,Page Builder,EPCF,Application Integrator,Connector Framework,Portal Navigation,Object Based Navigation,Transformation Service,User Management etc
PDK is for deployment for portal application, has very good documentation of portal development, contains sample application, Java Docs for all the apis for portal and KM and plugins for eclipse(which you don't need if you are using NWDS). It is basically a nice help for developer along with an iviews for uploading par and testing them.
In EP 6.0 it is just business package that you import to your portal. This will then give a "java development" role in portal which can be assigned to users. The role will then create a tab called "Java Development" in the top navigation and click on it you can see all the contents underneath.
If u want to see the application on which an iview is based on import that par file into NWDS.

I have developed a java desktop application(it is a kind of knowledgebase program) which uses mysql as a database, everything runs fine but I would like to know that how shall I distribute or sell my program.
My questions in short:
How to create a "Setup.exe" for your java desktop application which also has a database?
How to publish/distribute my database with my java application?
My Questions in detail:
I mean I want to create a "setup.exe" which users can download and then install it by providing the destination path(like any other program).
I also want users to add/edit data to the database by using the program's GUI, so my question is how will users be able to do that because obviously not everyone has a mysql database and service running on their computer and how should I provide the database with my program, should I provide the database file, but in that case anyone can access my database directly(by copying my database file to his mysql database folder), right ?

Use any of a number of installers to install the DB, invoked from a webstart ExtensionInstallerService. Store the installation path using the Webstart PersistenceService (PS). Your app. will query the PS to get the path to the DB, start it, and go from there..

I am new to Java, I thought you have to manually write all the java doc comments into your source code of java application. Some one told me javadoc tool can actually automatically add the comments for you. so I tried to that with my simpliest HelloWorld.java file, but got following errors:

There are IDE's that present a GUI interface that will make it easier for you to enter your comments, but you still have to put in the comments. Also, Sun has some style guidelines on how to document your source code that might interest you:

With the setup you have described, you don't need to maintain much of a session like in a traditional browser or a web app server scenario.
WIth a traditional web application, when a login authentication passes, normally a cookie is set in the browser to indicate that a session has been established and is cleared on logout to indicate that the session is over. When the browser client talks to the server it sends the cookie across to the server and the server (using something like the servlet api) decodes the cookie to determine the session and makes use of appropriate session state to access a store of session related data which it eventually just throws away on logout or on session timeout. The cookie is normally a random piece of data which forms a unique id for the session and is normally generated on the server.
If you are using rest apis then they should be coded to be stateless, so there is no session involved, every request to the server is self contained and contains all the information required to authenticate the user. (e.g. the user/password hash is passed every time). Sometimes a variant will be used where a token is passed, for example an oauth token, representing delegated authentication from another service. But you likely don't need to do that and just passing the full auth information everytime is sufficient. The server itself also maintains no state, it just does the auth based on the credentials passed with each request and then performs what ever action it needs to create and return the resource requested.
So really, all you need to do is to:
1. Prompt user for login credentials (user/pass).
2. Hash the pass and make a rest call to the server for validation (http basic auth over https could be used for this).
3. If the auth passes, then store the current user/pass hash as application data somewhere (e.g. members of your application class instance).
4. When you need to make another rest call, query the application instance for the user / pass hash and include that in the call.
5. When the user logs out, clear the user / pass hash from the application (set it to null).
6. Show the login prompt again for the user.
Note that using other communications systems (such as akka, hessian, spring remoting etc), may be a bit simpler for some kinds of JavaFX client/server applications than using REST.

I am trying to develop an ADF mobile App. I am new to ADF mobile. I went through some of the tutorials but still need some clarification on how to use SQLite inside the application. Can i get a Data control out of it? Or is it just to read and write data .
that brings me to the other question, Is the 'demo.db' i.e the db file which represents the Database, supposed to be packaged as a resource with the application?
Pls give me some info abt this.. If you can provide me links with this information, it would be of great help.

You can expose a java class containing methods (select, update, ...) as a Data Control.
Yes, you need to add your .db as a resource.

How to use iterator in standard BSP application BT115QIT_SLSQ

Hi experts,
I am new in BSP and my requirement is to put a checkbox icon beside the actions column (that has 2 existing icons already) of BT115QIT_SLSQ enhancement. I read a lot of article about iterators but I believe most of them are used in custom BSPs as we all know that standard BSP uses standard classes as well, which we cannot modify ourselves without access keys. Can someone help me how to use it in standard BSP? Or is there other much appropriate method?
