How to verfiy that ocr and votingdisk is normal??

Hi. all.
I am new to Oracle clusterware.
How to verfiy that oracle clusterware is running without problems??
I am reading RAC Administration Guide, but there are so many commands
about Oracle Clusterware.
I would like to hear your experience and advice.
Thanks in advance.
Best Regards.

1) use CRSCTL utiity to check the state of oracle clusterware or to enable CRS debugging
for example :
# crsctl check crs
checks the current state of all oracle clusterware daemons
# crsctl debug log css "CSSD:1"
enables level1 debugging of the CSSD module in the ocssd daemon
crcstl gives you a lot of options to check the Clusterware --> take a look at the doc
2) use OCRCHECK to verify the integrity of the Oracle Cluster Registry
# ocrcheck
3) use OCRDUMP to see the contents of the OCR
# ocrdump output_file

    Dear Virag.
I recreated a database by using DBCA on a 2-node RAC database.
I got no errors from DBCA when I recreated the database.
Now, I am just testing whether or not everything is OK.
    The operating system is windows2003.
The version of clusterware and oracle is 10.2.0.2.0.
I intentionally rebooted one node by turn.
After rebooting, 2-node RAC database is up automatically some times,
but some times, the instance of the rebooted node does not startup
automatically. "srvctl start instance" does work.
Is this problem related to the master node of cluster??
I am home now. I will give you the crsd log tomorrow.
    Best Regards.

  • OCR and votingdisk

I believe that voting disk and CRS has to be raw devices..
can we create OCR and votingdisk in directories.
    in RAC ?
    check here
    db1:/oradata/d01/CRS$ crsctl query css votedisk
    0. 0 /oradata/d01/CRS/VOTE
    1. 0 /oradata/d01/CRS/VOTE
    2. 0 /oradata/d01/CRS/VOTE
    located 3 votedisk(s).
    VOTE
is the name of the voting disk.. where they've created this disk in the directory ccbs/oradata/u01/CRS
    am wondering how ?
    this is in solaris ?
    any idea ?
I cannot find any symbolic links here als
    Please guide

    Hai Ashok,
Yes we are using OCFS only... thanks for the info... I understand that if you are not formatting with OCFS, (ie.ASM) then you have to use OCR and VOTE DISK as raw device only right ?..If using OCFS,we can have OCR and votedisk in directories.. can u refer me some links to understand this RAC concepts well ?
    Hai Chandra,
Thanks for the reply. yes they are OCR and voting disk only and they are updated every minute. yes.. crsctl query css votedisk displays the output and I understand by this command what are the configured voting disk that we have...is there any command to check the OCR like this ?..in Otherwords I want to display all the configured and mirrired ocr's.. any commands to display that ??
    thanks for helping pal s

I downloaded the latest iTunes software update and it properly installed.  But,  I cannot close the update window showing it was completed and the blue completion bar is full but cannot cancel or close it either.  Any ideas on how to clear that out and close the window.  Tried to quit on both the big window and the software update title in the menu bar.  No luck.

Tried that by shutting down via the power button only as the normal shutdown was nixed by the open window issue.  It did not help.  Found a very similar question in the discussions and it recommended "Force Quit".  That worked and the update works normal and the window is gone.  Thanks!

  • Steve Jobs keynote speech - how to get that quality and speed?

I watched Steve Jobs keynote speech with interest and envy.
How is it possible to get the video quality so good combined with so fast download - even on a relatively slow bandwidth I could more or less instantaneously scroll to the end?
I run a local net based TV station in Denmark http://www.tv-moen.dk and would love to supply that quality and speed. Can anyone help, please?
    Sincerely
    Sigurd Bo Bojesen

    Dav Sigurd!
You are right, the videos on your site do not run smoothly - lots of stopping and re-buffering.
    Presumably they are Flash videos?
    Have you tried contacting Adobe?

  • How do I control OCR and Optimization?

I'm creating a pdf file by importing (combining) 4 scanned image files (last months bank statement). Each file is a 300 dpi color or gray scale jpg file measuring 8.5 x 11.
After successfully combinging the 4 jpg's into one pdf, everything looks great...the images look nice and sharp, just like the original scanned images.
Then I set out to OCR all 4 pages...Acrobat does the OCR ok...but in the process it seems to do a bunch of stuff I didn't tell it to do, stuff I didn't think was necessary for the OCR process... things like decomposing, deskewing...then it seems to degrade the graphic image!
Then if I try to optimize the pdf, the image is further degraded.
QUESTION: Is there a way to control what goes on during the OCR or OPTIMIZATION processes? How do I do this?
Maybe I should be scanning directly into Acrobat using native files, and not trying to import jpg's?
Thanks for any and all help!
    Glenn
Acrobat's OCR is quite different from the OCR function on my scanner. My scanner's OCR software can read stuff sideways, upside-down, right-side up, skewed, etc...although  the better the scanned page alignment is, the better the OCR function works.

    Try "Searchable Image (Exact)"
    This leaves the image untouched.
The OCR output is a layer of characters using a "hidden" font.
Document > Optimize Scanned PDF provides a dialog in which you can perform configuration.
Document > Scan to PDF > Custom Scan or Configure Presets... each have an 'Options' button (bottom, in the Document pane)
which is adjacent to the Small Size – High Quality slider. It access a dialog that permits selection of 'Custom Settings'
for configuration of  Compression and Filtering.
I suspect you may have more pleasing results if you go from scanner to PDF via Acrobat.
    Scanner > TIFF > PDF
If passing through TIFF, go into Acrobat Preferences > Convert to PDF category > locate TIFF > select Edit button
This let you establish some conversion configuration values.
    Be well...

  • How to insure that contacts and calendar are NOT synced with ICloud?

    Hello,
I do not understand, why it is not possible anymore to sync your contacts and calendar data between your mac book and your mobile devices using USB cable.
I also heard that with Maverick and Itunes 11.1.2 you can not sync anything using USB anymore, is that true?
Why is it not possible to let the customer decide how to sync their data? Why not leaving both options?
In case it is true that with Maverick and Itunes 11.1.2 you are not able to sync using USB anymore, does anybody know a good app to sync your photos and address data between your computer and mobile devices?
How can I insure that my contacts and calendar data are NOT automatically synced with ICloud?
Yesterday I synced some Photos from my macbook to my IPad and wondered why I had the photos twice. I realized that my IPad had ICloud enabled, after disabling ICloud one picture folder (Photostream) was gone. What do do to avoid that my MacBook is sending Photos to ICloud?
However, when I opened ICloud today, I did not find photos, but I found some address data from my MacBook in the Cloud.
I do not want to have my contacts and calendar data anywhere else on a server.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks Hark

Connect your phone to your computer using the USB power cable that you charge your phone with.
Launch iTunes, it will go thru the normal sync back up progress bar thing at the top, let it finish.
    Then
double  click on the phone in the left side bar then click INFO at the top of that pane, it will allow you select what you want to sync (contacts, calendar, etc) make your selections and click apply, then click sync. There buttons along the top for different functions (Movies, Apps, etc) just make sure that you do not have anything checked (like your whole music library) that will not fit on the phone.

  • How to verfiy that password dosent contain any dictionary word ?

Is there a built-in English dictionary in oracle forms 10g? Or is there any built-in functionally in oracle forms 10g that checks if the password contain any dictionary word
I am looking into implementing the following requirement in oracle forms “Password shall not contain any dictionary word”
    Thanks

"Forms" is not a database. It is a client to the db. So, when you start a form and are presented with a login dialog, you are actually connecting to the database and not necessarily to "Forms". So, what you are asking is +"how do I set the password rules for my database"+. The answer to that question will depend on exactly which db version you are using, but here is an example for db 11

  • I had a disc of pictures in my imac and tried to update the software to 10.9, after realizing the disc was in there i ejected it and now its stuck on the os x page. any info of how to get away from that screen and onto my normal pages?

i tried to update my software to 10.9 and forgot i had a disc of pictues in the computer. i stopped the istall as it was trying to go onto the disc of pictures. now its stuck on the os x page and i cant get it to my home screen. can anyone help?

I'm not really sure what you mean by "the os x page". It sounds like the installation did not complete.
    I would try this:
hold down the power button until the computer shuts down
take out the disk with the pictures!
restart and see if it will boot up
if it boots up normally, I'd probably try to repair your HD: Boot into your recovery partition (hold down ⌘R at restart until you see the Apple symbol), go to Disk Utility, and repair your hard drive. While you're there, repair permissions too. OSX Tips Using the Recovery HD
Then I'd try to reboot and run the installer again. I think it's a good idea to do the installation in safe mode : Mac OS X: What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode? .
if it won't boot up normally, I'd try booting from the recovery partition and repairing your HD.
if it won't boot into the recovery partition, your options are:
Try to repair your hard drive with internet recovery: OS X: About OS X Recovery
If you have access to another (working) Mac and a USB thumb drive, download Recovery Disk Assistant, which you can use to repair your hard drive or reinstall OSX: OS X: About Recovery Disk Assistant
Try to boot into single user mode and repair your hard drive: Repair Your Hard Disk in Single User Mode | Everything Macintosh

  • HT1918 I have two ITunes gift cards, and I want to know which one I am currently using.  Where would I find that information, and how would I access it?

I was given two ITunes gift cards for Christmas, and I entered the information for one of them to buy songs on ITunes.  My balance is getting low, and I want to know which card is the one that is being used and the one that is new.  Could you please help me by letting me know how to find that information, and also, instructions on how to get to that place.  I am VERY computer illiterate.  Thanks in advance.

    Hi..
It's not possible to view the code that was used to redeem an iTuness gift card but you can view your balance.
From the iTunes menu bar top of your screen click Store > Sign In
Select iTunes Store from the source list on the left.
Your balance should be available just above QUICK LINKS right side of the iTunes window.
"You can also check your Apple Gift Card balance by visiting Your Account or by calling1-888-320-3301."

  • The screen rotation is locked... not sure how to get that unlocked?!

Hello, the screen rotation is locked on my ipod touch. I have no idea how it got that way and can not find how to turn it off.  Please help!

Double click on the home button to open the multitask bar, swipe to the right until you see the play controls for music, right next to it is the Orientaion lock icon. Tap on it to disable it, close the multitask bar again by clicking the home button.
