How to verify and_or mod pdf settings

I'm having a couple of issues with pdfs.
First, our Epson SP7800 proofer is run off a Mac G5 server with Colorburst 6.1.4 RIP software via USB. Colorburst requires High Quality Print, PDF/X=none, and PDF version 1.6. I can verify all but the High Quality Print setting. Pdfs for imposition/proofing are generated from InDesign with a Screen Trueflow pdf preset. The Settings Summary in Adobe PDF Presets do not show High Quality Print for it, just the Trueflow preset name though I am pretty sure it is High Quality Print. The software is spotty, some files print, some don't for no apparent reason. So I am trying to isolate the variables. I can verify PDF/X=none and PDF1.6 from the resultant Trueflow pdf, but how do I find the PDF Preset setting? (This is all for regular offset printing, the Trueflow pdfs that go to the Screen platesetter present no problems there.)
Second problem. When I generate a Print Booklet pdf from InDesign for our copy center, the prints come out screened down as if halftoning was reapplied to all (text and images). It is not confined to the output device, it does the same whether to a Ricoh Aficio or a Xerox DocuColor 250. What could be the problem here? A non-Print Booklet pdf prints fine.

Thank you Rick. As you can see, I am very old school!! In fact, I have no idea what you explained to me.
My computer is very old and frankly, they dont interest me in the least bit.
I have health issue's so I dont like being at the computer all day trying to figure something out. I am a non-detailed,get right to the point person.
And because of my condition,I sometimes end up in bed for days at a time. I have spent 2 weeks trying to set up an on line bank account and I am frustrated. So, I will not deal with Bank of America but dont know where to go from here.

How do I adjust the PDF settings on my mac?

I am having major problems learning to use my mac.
I have docs that I have edited in Word for Mac.
In windows, I used to be able to easily press Print, PDF, then choose the level of PDF I wanted.
Now. I hit print, PDF, then Save PDF As, etc.
Result:
1. Tells me "The borders of Section 1 are outside the printable boundaries. Do you want to continue"
I have gone back and done everything I can think of, but it still will not include a slither of the bottom portion of each page of the completed PDF. Seriously ***? Why not at least prompt me on how to fix this.
2. The resulting PDF is 14.5 MG. The original Word doc was weighing in at 2.5. Why is it making my doc bigger?? Despite continual searching, I can not find how I adjust the PDF settings to make it a light, emailable PDF. If I choose Send PDF as email, the result is the same. A big 14 MG file. This is driving me insane.
I can not now use my mac to do the most simple, yet urgently necessary task I must often do, which is create a doc, pdf it and email it.

How to enable "conservation" mode in settings?

But output messages (from XI) transports via receiver adapter channel to sender adapter channel.
Receiver SOAP channel has no "Quality Service" settings.

How to set tagged pdf settings for batch process

Framemaker doesn't allow me to set tagged pdf settings without opening a file (i.e. *.mif/*.fm/*.book).We are using .MIF files to generate PDF in an automated process.( .MIF files will be sent to FrameMaker as a batch file using DZBATCHER then it it uses distiller to produce the PDF).
How can I set tagged PDF settings for this kind of operation?

Tagged PDF info is a document level property, i.e. you need to define it in the MIF. Check your MIF manual for: <DPDFStructure and <DPDFStructureDefined statements.
Note: If you're using any FM version earlier that FM9 and not the FrameServer version, please read your EULA very carefully (Section 2.2 - 2.4) concerning automated creation of PDF files. With FM9, the restriction apparently has been loosened to only how the process is intiated (Section 2.3).

For sideloaded content the nook pulls the metadata from ePub file itself. I would suggest looking at a program like Sigil or Calibre that will let you edit the metadata in the book to make it appear like you want.
For the PDF vs ePub - No, that's the way PDFs work (think of them as graphics, not text), wheres ePubs are Web Pages - so no you can't them to behave exactly alike without converting the files.

My questions is what caused this to happen and how do I reconfigure my network settings so that I don't have to re-enter my password all the time?

I think you're pretty much on your own for this. You can probably eliminate
some files based on exstension. For the rest you might want to read the
first 1K and check whether it's all ASCII and whether the first line looks like
a mail header line (e.g., starts with an alpha character and contains a colon).

Hi Folks,
I need some quick help please. We've removed the default PDF settings (such as: Smallest File Size, Press Quality, PDF/X, etc.) in order to use only our custom settings for output (this is so our users don't get confused and use the wrong settings).
Removing the defaults from these two places:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Adobe PDF\Settings
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat 7.0\Distillr\Settings
works for about 3 months, then mysteriously some kind of auto-run installer asks to re-install the settings triggered by I don't know what. Our users always click yes, thus re-installing all the defaults again, and switching our default PDF setting back to "Standard".
Ack! How do I turn this auto-intall off, or disable it?
Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks, but that's not an option. If the default settings are there, someone will use them, and cause a problem in our company. My boss wants there to be no other settings, and I agree.
Why doe they auto-reinstall after I delete them? they don't seems to be necessary for creating PDFs. I certainly can make a PDF without having any defaults intalled.
How do I remove them permanently? Anyone??

Ah OK, my mistake. I was thinking ASA - I believe you are using an IOS-based VPN.
The state after establishment should be "QM Idle" (quick mode) - whether the Phase 1 was MM or AM.
I think you'll only see the AM in the debugs (like you have) or if you watch the output of the "show cry isa sa" command during establishment of the Phase 1 SA. If you're quick, you may see it cycle through as shown in this reference:

I've found the Adobe PDF presets dropdown (which is the drop down menu where my presets would also show in InDesign) but the same menu doesn't show the User presets anywhere in Configurator.
I've found the .joboptions files in Distiller but no idea how to link it in?
I'm quite the noob so a step-by-step guide would be very much appreciated.

You can do a show run-config or else do a show ap ? and that will list commands you can run. You might have to enter different commands to get the info you want.
Or use the wlc config analyzer which takes your show run-config and puts it in a nice format.
I don't know what info you are looking for, but their isn't one command that just gives you all the ap details. Try the config analyzer it might be the easiest for you.

How to hide read mode navigation in acrobat xi permanantly

How to hide "Read mode navigation" . In my application i am opening pdf file in light box window where i disable right click to protect download and print pdf file( only View ). but This Read mode navigation is appearing automatically when we put curson on file even if we protect the document. I have purchased Acrobat professional xi to created protected acrobat file by disabling menu tool bar but there is no option to hide readmode navigation. Please let us know how to hide this.

If you want the form "flattened", that is all form fields converted to PDF context, you need to use some JavaScript to flatten the form fields. This will remove all form functionality. It will not prevent editing by Acrobat's text touchup or object tools.
The "submit" button is used by other users to sent the PDF form data to a central collection site or email address where the sender or provider of the form can collect the submitted data.
You could also use a digital certificate to sign the form and lock the fields. The signature will also verify that no changes have been made to the PDF since it was signed and one could also see what was changed.
