There is no Flash Player for iOS. Browsers on the App Store like Photon have flash capabilities.

Note that it'll be created over every time you load a Flash object in a Web browser (at least if it has Flash enabled).
The only way to consistently get rid of all its content would be to create an AppleScript, or use Automator to create a workflow that would empty this folder when you close the browser.

  • How to uninstall Macromedia Flash Player 8

I don't remember when I installed this hideous software! And it doesn't exist in the Applications Folder and cannot be found with Spotlight (that I find useless BTW).
Unfortunately this "Macromedia Flash Player 8" is set as default for all .flv videos. If I try to play a video by double clicking on it, the "Macromedia Flash Player 8" icon shows on the Deck but doesn't play a thing. The only to play a video is to choose another application from the right click menu every time I want to play a clip!
I tried Adobe's website but failed to find a solution for Mac users!
I'd be grateful if someone can:
    1) help me remove this application for good.
    2) help me set default applications and preset them with certain file extensions because if I choose another application and ask to ALWAYS OPEN WITH, still it didn't work in this case!

Thank you all for your contribution.
I have no clue how or when I mistakenly installed this Flash 8. Anyway, all the above I have tried but of no use.
My last resort -which thank God worked for me- was to uninstall all Adobe software to avoid confusion. I use AppDelete that helped clear the remaining leftovers
Then I used Spotlight as advised above, but at first it didn't help because the application couldn't be found in any search as if it is unlisted... until I used the Spotlight to search for old applications by date where I found the icon f in a blue circle representing the Flash 8. I deleted it and that was the end of it.
I reinstalled all Adobe applications back... and all is well.
Thanks to all who contributed to this thread.

  • How to uninstall Macromedia Flash Player version 7

    Hi everyone!
Just bought a Palm Treo 500 but I can't load the CD that comes with it. The error says that I have an outdated macromedia flash player.
I've already installed hte latest version of adobe flash player but I can't seem to rid the old version (version 7) on my system. Add/remove program can't find any uninstaller on my system.
Can anyone help me on this?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

try uninstalling with a program called your uninstaller 2006, it's an alternative to classis add/remove windows have. i use it my self, and i'm very satisfied with it :)
here's the link for it on download.com: http://www.download.com/3000-2096_4-10735046.html
you can see all the installs that are on your system, and that is more than your windows add/remove window shows.

  • How do I get the Adobe Flash Player 10 to Work (Windows XP SP3)?

I am a Premiere Elements user who occasionally exports the Timeline to Adobe Flash Video (.flv). And, occasionally I convert the .flv export to .swf with a free .flv to .swf converter. An installed Macromedia Flash Player 8.0 successfully plays back the .swf, and an installed Adobe Media Player 1.7 successfully plays back the .flv.
Right or wrong I got the idea that the Macromedia Flash Player 8.0 was really a very old version of what is now the Adobe Flash Player. So, I decided it was time to update the Macromedia Flash Player 8.0 to Adobe Flash Player 10. At this point, I have the following installed on my Windows XP SP3 computer via Adobe downloads:
Adobe Flash player 10 Active X
    Adobe Flash player 10
    Adobe Shockwave Player 11.5
The Adobe web site verification tells me that as well as the computer Control Panel Add/Remove program list.
But, no matter what I do, .flv insists on opening only with the Adobe Media Player 1.7 and the .swf only with the Macromedia Flash Player 8.0.
    I have tried
    a. browsing to another Open With choice
    b. changing file association in folder options as well as a few uninstalls/reinstalls and have been unsuccessful in these attempts. At one point I thought that maybe uninstalling the Macromedia Flash Player 8.0 would be an approach, but I cannot find it to uninstall it. I have looked in Program Files, Documents and Settings/Application Data, Local Drive/Windows/System32, tried the computer Search...all with no luck. My browsers are Internet Explorer 6 and Firefox 2.0.0.20. The default browser is Firefox and all the appropriate "allows" are in place.
If anyone could point out the errors of my ways, I would appreciate it.
    ATR

I have resolved the issues presented without having to find and uninstall the Macromedia Flash Player 8.0 in order to get "Adobe Flash Player 10" playback of .swf files on my computer. When I begin this task, I expected to download an "Adobe Flash Player 10" as a player program download instead of the Internet Explorer and Firefox plugin that it appears to be.
This is what I did and what I believe I have:
    1. I setup Internet Explorer 6 as my default browser and then used the following site to download Adobe Flash Player 10
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/
    2. As I had done before (and also suggested in another thread here), I went to Tools/Manage Add Ons and found Shockwave Flash Object, highlighted it, and clicked on Update Active X. Next, what I did not do before, I restarted the computer immediately after that.
    3. Next, I set Mozilla Firefox as my default browser and then used the above site to download Adobe Flash Player 10 again.
    4. With Firefox, the critical step included Firefox Tools/Options/Content with File Types (Configure how Firefox handles certain types of files) and the Manage Tab there. SWF Shockware Flash Object/Change Action/and dotting "use this plugin" - Shockwave Flash, followed by a computer restart got the job done.
Now, if I want playback of a .swf file, I can
    a. Open With Internet Explorer (assumed with the Adobe Flash 10 "plugin")
    b. Open With Mozilla Firefox (assumed with the Adobe Flash 10 "plugin")
    c. Open With Macromedia Flash Player 8.0
I am satisfied with those results for my use. Any additional comments on the player vs plugin aspect of the matter would be interesting and helpful.

  • "Macromedia Flash Player"; vs. "Flash Player?"

    My new camera says
I need to download "Macromedia Flash Player": is that the same as "Flash Player?
I tried to download the new Flash Player just in case and kept getting an error.  During the download attempts it said I already had it (flash player) and asked if I wanted to rerun it.  That's what failed repeatedly.  It keep telling me I had to close "conflicting" Yahoo Messenger and Internet Explorer before it could continue.  How do I close something that isn't running?  I am "multiply" confused.  Can you advise?

Hopefully everything will work now, but I'm still confused.  I didn't get a chance to follow your instructions because in the process of trying to figure out how to close internet explorer and yahoo messenger without shutting down the install page; I succeded and then Incredimail popped up on the screen to "complete" the install it had been trying to do since yesterday.  As soon as  I managed to close those programs, it was all automatic.  I restarted AGAIN, just to make sure.  I went to the link you sent and it says I have:
    You have version 10,1,53,64 installed
However, when I open program "add/delete" on my computer; as before, it lists the Flash Player but there aren't any MB listed like all the other programs have.  I know it's working because Incredimail came back on.  Of course,  initially I tried loading the new player because my photo program claimed it couldn't run without it.  Why would they say that if I already had it because it appears that I did until I started messing with things.  Somehow it then went away.  I'll try my photo  program again tomorrow if I can find time.  I have 2 doctor appointments.
Thanks so much for all your help.  I hope you don't mind if I "keep you", at least until I make sure the photo program is happy with the Flash Player.  Thanks and good night

  • Remove NPSWF32.DLL from old version of Macromedia Flash Player

A security check of my system has revealed the insecure file
npswf32.dll (relating to Macromedia Flash Player 7.0.19.0) sitting
    in both C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Bridge\browser\plugins\ and
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Help
    Center\Browser\plugins\NPSWF32.dll.
I have run Adobe's flash uninstaller, and downloaded and
installed the latest version of the player (presumably 9.0.28.0),
but these dlls are still present.
Does anyone have any idea how I can update them?
    Thanks.

  • Macromedia Flash Player, what am I doing wrong?

I'm a simp and I'm stumped! I used to be able to watch videos on youtube but now when I go there I get the message: "Hello, you either have Javascript turned off or an old version of Macromedia Flash Player". I have no idea (and I've been looking) how to get info on turning on Javascript and when I go to the link and try to download a newer version of Flash Player it goes to a page saying: "Not found - The requested URL/flashplayer etc., was not found on this server". What did I do to screw things up? What am I doing wrong? What can I do to fix this so I can watch videos again?

    Hi, Jupie -
Re Sherlock, it sounds like you may be activating a network search instead of searching on your hard drive.
Check which of the icons in the upper section of Sherlock's window is highlighted - has a greenish border added to it. If your search is to be of the local volume(s) (drives), be sure the icon that looks like an external hard drive case is the one highlighted. If the one that looks like a globe is highlighted, Sherlock will attempt a network search.
Re increasing the memory allocation for a program - it really isn't difficult, nor should it be risky in any way. Here's how to do it -
First, quit the program if it's running.
Then click once on the icon of the program itself, not on an alias to it. If you customarily use an alias to activate the program, a quick way to het to the original is to click once on the alias, then press Command-R (Show Original from the File menu). This will open the folder containing the original, no matter how deeply it is buried, and highlight the original. Then all you need do is press Command-I (Get Info from the File menu).
Select Get Info from the File menu (if you've not already done that), and then select Memory from the pulldown menu in the Get Info window.
In the new pane, at the bottom, are three boxes with numbers in them - the one you want to change is the last one, labelled Preferred.
For most programs, an increase of 50% is a good starting point; for small apps like control panels and printing software, doubling is okay; for browsers, email apps, and graphics apps, try at least doubling or tripling the original Preferred amount to start with.
Replace the old number in the box with the new one - no commas - close the window, and you're done.
There are a few tricks you can do with Sherlock - for example, restricting its search to just a single folder. This can be very handy to save time when doing a Find By Content search.

  • Macromedia Flash Player for .swf

Can anyone tell me that is Macromedia Flash Player necessory
to open any .swf file on our machine? Or can we open any .swf file
without installing any version of Macromedia Flash Player?
    Thanks in advance :)

Then you already have the flash player control .. so you can
    view swf files
in the web browser. That is the only free and distributable
    player.
There is no free distributable stand-alone player. one comes
    with Flash
itself (the authoring program), but you cannot redistribute
    it.
You can, however, convert a SWF file into a standalone player
    that includes
the player .. this is called a "projector".

  • Macromedia flash player has stopped a pontentially unsafe operartion

I have just managed to figure out how to get a button to
work, and now I get the message 'Macromedia flash player has
    stopped a pontentially unsafe operartion'!
It says that I need to go and edit the settings, so I have
gone to the part of adobe/macromedia website clicked always allow,
    but nothing has changed...
All I am trying to do test a file on my computer that
connects to the internet. What do I need to do to get it to work?
    Thanks
    Mat

Exactly. There are three ways you can go about this.
First you could change your Flash Player trust settings to
trust Flash files on your desktop. (
    Follow
    this link to see how)
You could upload your Flash files to a server and test them
    there.
Finally you could write a Flash trust file in a Text editor.
(Literally you would type the file location of your Flash
file into a simple text file. (.txt) Then place this file here:
    C:\Documents and Settings\
    your_account\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash
    Player\#Security\FlashPlayerTrust)

net website but frankly I am very frustrated. My husband did some
reconfiguring or something happened and now we get an error message
every time we turn the computer it say could not find
flash.ocx.This has led to the disabling of flash and me having to

use hanson.net.Today I get a message saying do you want to activate

website. If anyone here knows how I can fix this problem I would
appreciate it.I just want to be able to use a website I love and

Go to the Adobe web site and download the Universal Flash Player. When the installer mounts on the Desktop, double click it and follow the instructions.

  • Why am I and my Flash app users continuously bombared with "A script in this movie is causing Macromedia Flash Player-"

I'm experiencing a severe backlash from users of Flash
applications due to the frustration generated from encountering a
continuous bombardment of messages during the intialization of
    Flash applications that reads:
"A script in this movie is causing Macromedia Flash Player 8
to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become
unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script?"
What's worse is there are only two, very limited options for
users. The first is to continue on and the second is to simply
abandon the app and apparently forget about trying to accomplish
whatever it was you were accessing the application for. I'm going
to continue scouring Live Docs, Google, etc and hopefully I'll be
able to post my own answer soon. In the meantime, any input on the
    matter would be VERY welcome.
Can anyone shed some light on this please?

You're saying "users of Flash applications." Do you mean
    *all* Flash
    applications? Or just one?

You don't have to scour very far. This message occurs when
    something
inside a given SWF file is poorly written -- perhaps an
    infinitely recursing
function, perhaps some other un-optimized looping or an
    incredible amount of
unchecked math operations. But this certainly isn't something
    that just
    happens.
Can you nail this to one particular file? If so, the
    developer of that
file needs to start troubleshooting her/her own code.

  • Can't update or uninstall Macromedia Flash player!

    Hi folks!
I've got a problem concerning the automatically installed Flash player. I am using a Qosmio G20.
While installing a new program (Lexware Financial Office) this program tried to update the Macromedia Flash player to the newest version. But the deinstallation of the old player was interrupted and the following message was displayed:
The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.
Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'install_flash_player_7.msi' in the box below.
    Use source:
    C:\Sysprep\
Closing this window does end the whole installation process of this new program.
After that I opened the list of installed programs to uninstall Flash manually, but with the same result.
Then I searched the internet for this install_flash_player_7.msi. I found the file but I still can't remove or update the Flash Player.
As a last chance I backed up all my data and used the recovery DVD to reinstall the whole system. Without installing any additional application, I had a look at the list of installed programs and guess what? The Flash Player has already been installed, so it is part of the recovery DVD.
But why can't it be uninstalled? I really need to get rid of the old player to be able to install Lexware Financial Office...
Thank you for your help in advance!
    Yvonne

    Thanks Eldorado,
but I think I explained it not exactly enough: I know that the old Flash installation is looking for a file that seems to be on antoher pc / server / disc or what ever, but the problem is, that I did not install the Flash Player that I would like to remove, respectively upadte to the newest version.
It is part of the Toshiba Recovery DVD. That means, after killing the HD and setting up the system completely new with the Toshiba Recovery DVD, this little tricky Flash Player is already installed.
It seems to be that there is a wrong link or setup on this DVD. But if that is the case, I can not be the only one with this problem, or?
And is there any way to remove this thing manually?
    Again, thanks in advance.
