How to view database values from server to client

hi friends
i have database in server side, i am storing values to the database from client side machine through remote methods. But now i need to view the database values from the server side. how to do this using RMI.
Plz give me suggestion.

Why do you have to use RMI for this task? That way you've got to write both a client and a server. Just use JDBC directly from the server.

You cannot create a link to the Oracle Lite Database because there is no listener. Oracle Lite Database therefore do not appear in OM, hence cannot be managed. However you can replicate between Oracle Lite Database and Oracle8i Server. For more information about Oracle Lite Database replication see the documentation on the Oracle8i Lite 4.0.1.2.0 CD (downloadable from OTN).

my requirement is,
a form is displayed to user with a download button and
onclick of download ,user will see a box with options open,save,cancel.
if user clicks on open /save ,how to get the info about download is complete on client side because i need to set a flag in database ,
as Downloaded once the download is complete on client side
my problem is ,in the action of form the path given is of servlet class
having code of
setheader and setcontenttype as attachment but on click of download button it is opening the servlet instead of the required file,
means it is opening the page specified in action of form ,
what can be done abt it??/

How to get the values from popup window to mainwindow

HI all,
   I want to get the details from popup window.
      i have three input fields and one search button in my main window. when i click search button it should display popup window.whenever i click on selected row of the popup window table ,values should be visible in my main window input fields.(normal tables)
   now i am able to display popup window with values.How to get the values from popup window now.

Hi Kranthi,
Every webdynpro component has a global controller called the component controller which is visible to all other controllers within the component.So whenever you want to share some data in between 2 different views you can just make it a point to use the component controller's context for the same. For your requirement (within your popups view context) you will have have to copy the component controllers context to your view. You then will have to (programmatically) fill this context with your desired data in this popup view. You can then be able to read this context from whichever view you want. I hope that this would have made it clear for you. Am also giving you an [example|http://****************/Tutorials/WebDynproABAP/Modalbox/page1.htm] which you can go through which would give you a perfect understanding of all this. In this example the user has an input field in the main view. The user enters a customer number & presses on a pushbutton. The corresponding sales orders are then displayed in a popup window for the user. The user can then select any sales order & press on a button in the popup. These values would then get copied to the table in the main view.

You need to add valuePassThru="true" in your <af:selectOneChoice component. I have personally tested it and got the actual value in alert box. I hope this time you got the real solution. You can also test the following code by your end.

I have dropdownbyindex UI elements in my Views, I get values from BAPI. When click records in a table, It goes to another view to display full record. Here i have dropdownbyIndexes So it should select one of appropriate value in dropdownbyindex based on record(Value) in table.
Example:
In Table View

Detail View:

Status New [New,Old,Open,Closed]---DropDownbyIndex

How to select Appropriate Values from DropdownbyIndex. if any one has sample code, that will be helpful.

Hi Ravi,
In details view, you will have corresponding context node created for Status and priority dropdown fields.
Let suppose, context node for Status is, StatusNode.
value attribute inside this is,
StatusNode

Now, you need to write following code to set l_status ="LOW" value in it.
wdContext.nodeStatusNode().moveFirst();
for(int i=0; i<wdContext.nodeStatusNode().size(); i++)

I would like to do it, but without a triger that would do it before insert.
I know that there is a type DBSequence in BC where you can insert a sequence name but it does not work when I type there my sequence name.
Do you now how to fix that problem?

The newer way to do it is to make the type DBSequence and enter the name of the Sequence object in the sequence field. It must match the same name of the sequence object in the database. Next, you have to create a before insert for each row trigger on the table. Basically, something like this:

In the above example, THEME_ID_SEQ is the seuence object name in the database. If you have the name right but it still fails, then the user you are logging in as probably doesn't have access to the sequence in the database.

You have a datatable in which each row is a question, correct?
Also in each row you have 5 possible answers that are in a radio, correct?
So,
You need to put in your datatable model, a question, and a list of answers (5 in yor case) and the selected one.
So you will have a get to the question, an SelectItem[] list to populate the radios and another get/set to the selected question.
ex:

Just use the appropriate API's for that. There are enough API's out which can read/parse/write XML, ini and properties files. E.g. JAXP or DOM4J for xml files, INI4J for ini files and Sun's own java.util.Properties for propertiesfiles.
JSF supports properties files as message bundle and resource bundle so that you can use them for error messages and/or localization.

getCurrentRow() would always return null if no setCurrentRow() is used.
Please check the page design and understand how many rows of VO are there. You can also use the following to get the row:
vo.reset();
vo.next();
