How to view file location in columns

If I remember correctly, I used to be able to select file location as a column heading an sort.
This allowed me to quickly find any songs that may not be in normal library location.
I don't see that column option anymore.
I have itunes match so not sure if this has an affect or not.
Anyway to easily review file locations in itunes 11?
Regards,
bdog

FYI, I now remember what I wasn't remembering.
I ran a apple script to copy the file location to another field that I could display.
Then I could sort and find music files not stored in the correct master location.
Sundry Info was the script I used to copy the file path to another field (comments, description or categories)
I used categories since I wasn't using this field.

  • How to view  file in EBS R12

    Hi,
I have a report output file report1.pdf coming from windows.
I ftp it to our EBS R12 linux server to the desired location.
How can I view it using the "view request" of the EBS CM?
    Thanks a lot

    Hi,
What do you mean by how to view the report? If you register the concurrent program, then you should be able to view the output using Acrobat Reader (since the type is PDF).
In addition, you should not upload the output file (.pdf), instead upload the rdf file under $PRODUCT_TOP/reports/<lang> directory.

  • Viewing file location in Windows explorer from within organizer. PE 10

Does anyone know how to view a cataloged file location WITHIN  organizer Elements 10 by where the orgainzer opens up the file location in Windows Explorer (Not windows IE Explorer browser).  I know you can see the file path in the properties pane but I swear some how I clicked on a file once and Explorer opened up in organizer 10 showing the location in the file tree on the hard disk. I am using Widows 7 Home preminum with all updates.   Am I crazy?  Thanks.

If you want to see the folder tree click the display button (near top right of Organizer) and switch to Folder Location View.

  • Installed iTunes 11.4.0 and cannot find how to view files created by apps or screen displays for moving icons.  Where did it go?

I recently installed iTunes 11.4.0 and cannot find how to view the files created by some apps on my iPhone (and iPad).  There appears to be no way to view them as there was in the previous version.  Also can't view screens and icon positons to manipulate them in iTunes.  Any one no how to find them, or if they have been purposely removed from 11.4.0?

First, take a deep breath ... enjoy life.
Upgrade to the latest version 1.4.1. It's a free upgrade. It however will not alleviate your frustrations.
You can move a directory in Lr by clicking and dragging to a new location within the Folders panel. To create a new folder on a new drive ensure that no folders are selected (hint: click All Photographs in the Catalog panel) then click the + icon in the Folders panel. You will be presented with a dialog to choose or create a new folder.
To move selected photos to a new directory first select the images then right click the destination folder. You will be presented with several options including moving to the destination folder or creating a new folder under the destination folder.
You can also move images outside of Lr. Review these links:

    Hi,
I assume the user has a directory on the server where his/her files go. In this case, you can use Java in a managed bean to access the folder and create a collection of the entries.

  • How to view file size of imported photo

i plan to import a number of large photos from iphoto. i hesitate because each photo is between 20 and 50 MB. Will iweb scale this file down while importing? How can i find out about it? I did not find file information on the imported photo nor do i know the file location of the website project on my mac harddisk.
Do I have to use third party software like Photoshop to scale the size down and afterwards import them into iphoto and iweb?
    Thank You,
    Harpo

I think you should DEFINITELY scale your images down before importing them or dragging and dropping them into iWeb! If your images are in iPhoto, then you can use the "Export" command in iPhoto to export your images and specify what resolution they should be scaled to.
One of the issues I have with the iPhoto export function is that you have no control over the amount of JPG compression in the exported photos, which has a direct relationship to the resulting file size. So I like to use a program called "Downsize" http://www.stuntsoftware.com/Downsize/ which will allow you to specify maximum image dimensions as well as JPG compression. You will also then be able to check how large the resulting files are in the Finder before using them in iWeb.
Whenever you are scaling photos for use in iWeb, it's important to realize that any additional changes that you make to the photos in iWeb will cause the image to be converted from jpg to png. This may impinge on your ability to control the filesizes directly. The way to get around this is to scale your photos to exactly the size you want and then after dragging them into iWeb, click on the "Use original size" button in the Inspector Metrics tab. Also, don't apply any other effects to your images like rotation, frames, drop shadows... If you want these, you should do these in external applications as well. These are my recommendations only if you want to have complete control over your filesizes. It's certainly not required.
But as far as your 50mb images go, definitely scale them down before bringing them into iWeb. Otherwise, iWeb will rescale the images for you, but it will ALSO throw a copy of your 50mb file into your Domain file to refer to in publishing. This would cause your Domain file to balloon in size quite rapidly. To put things into perspective for you on this, the Domain file for my entire site is only 80mb.

  • How to change file location path at run time in OWB 10g

    Hello all,
We want to load several files with the same name but from different folders into a single table.
The information about the paths is stored in an oracle table.
Is there any best practice to achieve this?
Our approach is to loop on the number of sources and execute the mapping after changing the location path. We found how to make the loop, and have the apropriate OMB command to update the location path, but we are still looking for a way to call this OMB plus command in a process flow or a mapping. Any idea?
We also succeeded in loading the file from an unregistered location, which is necessary to be able to update the path, but I'm not sure this is really the best approach. Any advise?
Thanks in advance for your help!
    best regards
    Cedric.

    Hi,
I can provide you with an idea on this, dont know if it will work or not.
Suppose, you need to load 5 files in different folder locations into a single table. Call the mapping 5 times in a process flow. If you log in to the database, and go the table all_directories in your target schema, you will find an entry for the actual path of the file you are trying to laod. I think if this path is updated before each run of the mapping, you can load all files into the target table. Only thing you have to do is call a procedure which will update this record in all_directories table with the different locations each time you want and then plug in this procedure before each call to the mapping in a process flow and see if it works or not?

  • How to control file location of iPhone pictures?

I have invested a lot of time into figuring out a smart way to combine Apple's approach of handling images (database-driven) with the approach of all other services (file-driven) but was not successful yet. I really hope you can help me.
Problem: I take a lot of picture on my iPhone and want them to be:
in a useful location on my drive based on events (e.g. Pictures/Christmas 2013/IMG_123.JPG) which enables me to use file-based services like dropbox
    in iPhoto
My problem: if I attach my iPhone and start iPhoto, I can import images from the iPhone without any control over where they are placed on the hard disk.
I tried several ways to work around this:
Find the images in the iPhoto Library folder and move them --> iPhoto doesn't find them anymore. Unfortunately it doesn't ask me where to find them but just shows an error symbol.
Export the images and reimport them --> A lot of manual effort + I loose some timestamp information
Hack into the SQLite DB of iPhoto --> I managed to update the imagePath in iPhoto but then found out that the location is additionally stored in a file alias which is stored in SQLite as a BLOB. I don't see a chance to create/update such an alias
Any idea how I can control where images are stored? Should I use another mechanism to import images from the iPhone instead of importing directly into the media library?

Do you want to store the original image files in a synced folder like your dropbox folder? Then you are risking to breaking the connection between your original image files and the versions in your iPhoto library.
Image files managed by iPhoto are best left alone. iPhoto offers many safe ways to access the photos, and probably can what you want be done, by using iPhoto's interface. What yo not can do in iPhoto is syncing the library to other macs.
Any idea how I can control where images are stored? Should I use another mechanism to import images from the iPhone instead of importing directly into the media library?
The only way to control where images are stored, is to avoid importing them in the first place. If you disable "Copy items to the iPhoto Library". Then your image files wil remain exactly where they are. But this method is not recommended, because it is a disaster waiting to happen. Images imported this way cannot be rlocated to another drive, if you are running out of space, they are difficult to restore from backup, and they are not well protected and may be accidentally moved or deleted.  If you need a photo library that supports this kind of staorage better, upgrade to Aperture.

  • How to view File Pathway of each image in the content screen?

Hi, I'm looking at many, slightly varying, copies of an image on my hard drive, trying to work out exactly which version I need to use. I want to know what the filename pathway is for each image, to help me make my choice.
Can anyone tell me how I can view the filename pathway of each of the images shown in the Content screen, other than by choosing 'Reveal in Bridge'? I'd really like to see all the pathways next to each image, so that I can compare them.
(I'm definitely going to have to be more organised with my file naming, metadata, versioning, etc.)
    Thanks for any help,
    Cheers, Steven

Good grief, I can't believe I didn't see it. It's not exactly what I want, as I'd prefer to see all the pathways at once, but it's better than what I had... Interestingly, it only appears when I have photos from a search displayed. I guess when I have the contents of a folder displayed, the pathway is shown across the top using folder icons.
    Thanks for your help.
    Cheers,
    Steven

  • How to view file item count in finder window?

    Hi all,
Pre-Lion, I had things set up so that I was able to view the number of files/items in a finder window that was in list view. This information would show up at the bottom of my finder windows. I know I had intially pressed some kind of OS X shortcut to get it to show up there and now would *really* like to be able to easily view that information once again. Not only did I get a file count, I was also shown a file path if I clicked on one of the files in the finder window.
For the life of me though I just cannot remember how to do this. Can anyone help me out?
Thank you very much in advance:)
    Christine

Got it! That was SO EASY...thank you very much

  • Moved library - how to correct file locations in playlists

I copied my library off my HD to an external HD because the library is pretty large, about 120gb. I have all my music in playlists, and I back up my playlist library regularly just to be safe. I have not deleted my original library off my HD just yet to be safe that everything made it over.
My question is: My playlists still show all my songs as located on my internal HD. How do I get them all updated to show that the files are located on the external HD instead? I want to delete the original library off the internal HD to make more space. I changed the library location in the Settings -> Advanced tab under Preferences and iTunes now recognizes that that is where the library is.
I tested all of this by deleting a song from a playlist in its folder on the internal HD to see if iTunes would relocate it on the external HD. It did not. It prompted me to locate it instead.
I tried importing my library again, thinking that might fix it. Instead, all my playlists are now duplicated. And the songs in both versions of any playlists both still show the songs as being on the original internal HD, not the external.
    Thanks.

Traditionally, if you want your download to go to a different folder than the default folder you would control-click on the link in Safari and select something like "Download Linked File As..."
Some websites are written in such a way as to disable that functionality.
