How to view first page of newsletter (Publisher file convert to ?)

I am using Dreamweaver CS4 on a Mac. I am trying to post the first page of our newsletter on the page. See http://indianaeagleforum.org/newsletter.htm Here it is FrontPage 2002 and the newsletter was done in Publisher 2007. I am redoing the website in Dreamweaver. I can save the Publisher file as a .jpg but then the page is too wide. It saves as 1276 px wide and the web site is 955 px wide. In FrontPage I can specify the width and still keep the correct aspect ration and it will shrink the page. What should I do in Dreamweaver? I can save the Publisher file as a .tif or.png or as .html. I am afraid the .png file would not print well. What would you suggest? Thank you.

If you really want to follow our recommendations, there are still plenty of opportunities to "optimize", resize (by using compression techniques), correct, cut, aso. all your images for the web.
Very good "little helpers" you will find in Photoshop, Fireworks, Microsoft Office Picture Manager, MS Photo Editor aso. Perhaps you work with all of them already or you know them at least, so the application should not be a problem.
"Microsoft Office Picture Manager" as an element of "Home and students" I prefer if it's necessary to convert multiple images at once in different sizes.
Phew, a long load time is not a must now, or!?Hans-G.

Create an Action with the following JS command:

This will cause the first page of all the files you process with this Action to be sent to your default printer.
If you need to specify more complex parameters, you'll need to use a more complex code...

How do I add pages to a pdf file?

I am new to iMac.
I am used to using Adobe Acrobat for Windows to create pdf files. In Acrobat, when you scan a page, you have the option to add the page to an existing pdf file.
I know how to use the Scan feature on Print & Fax to create pdf files on the iMac.
I can not figure out how to make a pdf more than one page (unless I use the document feeder to scan in a multiple pages at once.) When I use the flat bed scanner, I can not figure out how to scan another page into the same file.
I also can not figure out how to add another page to an existing pdf file.
It does not appear Adobe Acrobat is available for the Mac, just Adobe reader. If it was, I would just buy that.
Does anyone know how to do these two things, or a program that can?

Acrobat contains features that are useful and very much needed in a desktop publishing environment.
As do many other competing programs. Apple Preview can generate perfectly good PDFs and is more than adequate for the vast majority of users. PDFClerk can do things Acrobat could never dream of.
I have no experience of Acrobat Reader on the Mac so I can't comment on that.
I do, so I will comment. It is slow, bloated, and very poorly written software. It must be updated weekly due to cross-platform security flaws that are actively being exploited. Even if you do install it to use some Adobe-only feature, you may wind up having to run Acrobat in Windows because the Mac version's output is so bad.
All of the items I've listed here are just my personal experience. If you want more, just use the Apple Discussions search feature. Unfortunately, I haven't found an adequate replacement for Photoshop, so I still have that installed. Preview, however, is much better than Adobe Reader.

Word insert object vi only inserts first page of multipage rtf file?

I need to insert a multi-page rtf file into my report template. In Microsoft Word, this is achieved by selecting 'Insert, Object, Text from File', which inserts all pages of the rtf file. How is this achieved in the LabView Microsoft Report Generation Toolkit? When I use the insert object vi, it only inserts the first page of the rtf file? I've tried other insert methods but insert object is the only vi that keeps the formatting (i.e. rtf file contains tables).
In summary, I can insert an rtf file as an object to a bookmark, but only the first page of the rtf file is inserted. Does anyone know how to insert a multi-page rtf file?

Hello Allan,
It looks like that functionality is not included within the Report Generation Toolkit. It is possible to produce the desired behavior through ActiveX commands. I was able to create some sample code that successfully inserted a multipage RTF file into a report. I did this by using the Word._Document reference to generate a Word.Range reference. The Range reference has an InsertFile method. This seems to input the file at the proper location.
Could you give this a try and let me know how it goes?
Also, just so you know, you are using an unsupported configuration of MS Office and LabVIEW. Most of the functionality should work, but there might be some glitches.

1. Launch File Explorer (Winkey+E).
2. Click the View tab at the top of the window.
3. Click the Options button.
4. In the Folder Options window that appears, click on the View tab..
5. Uncheck the "Always show icons, never thumbnails" option.
6. Click Apply, then OK.

How to implement "First Page" command in WAD

I have a bug in my code, in that if the user pages down a few times, then chooses to Display All Rows (option provided in dropdown), the code works correctly to display all rows, but starts at the point at which the user was ... not from row 1 as should be the case.
In case this doesn't make sense :
- Assume that the table shows 10 rows at a time
- On first entry, rows 1-10 will be displayed
- User presses the standard page-down button ... rows 11-20 now displayed
- User now presses button to show all rows (say there are 30 rows in the query)
- User now sees rows 11-30, with no paging functionality.
I would like to add / insert an additional command which navigates to the first page, then shows all the rows, but I can't figure out how.
I have tried setting DATA_ROW_FROM to 1, but that doesn't help.
Please note that I can set the parameters to show all the rows, just need to be able to navigate to row 1 before I do that.
Any ideas?

I have a number of Pages files which were converted to the new format (v5.0.1) under OSX10.9.1, but which now don't appear to display with the pages facing each other. Only single pages are displayed. Probably a dumb question, but how do I change the View so that I can look at pages 1 & 2 on the screen next to each other?

How to view all pages of a multi-page HTML email in Mac Mail 5+ (Lion to Mavericks)?

In previous versions of Mac Mail (up to that included with Snow Leopard, Mail 4), it was possible to scroll through all pages of a multi-page HTML email, like that send from the Tivoli Storage Manager reporting system.
Since Lion, that has not been possible. The first page displays, but that's it.
As a possible complication, I'm accessing an Exchange server, not IMAP.
I have not been able to find a setting that might be related to this, nor have I found anyone who seems to be perturbed by this issue. Perhaps there's very few of us trying to read multi-page Tivoli reports on a Mac.
In any case, I would prefer not to switch to a different mail app, or sign on to the Outlook Web Service version of our email to see the full report.
Any thoughts?

I've been able to find someone willing to do some testing that I can't do without installing old versions of Reader on my computer. The surprising (to me) result is that the Submit button causes the problem. By simply removing the Submit button, Reader 10 is now able to print page 1. The Submit button was set up to do a "mailto". I don't know whether other destinations also cause the problem of the page not printing with old versions of Reader.

In the pages panel, double click the black arrow above the first page
