How to View HD video in QuickTime

So I have quicktime pro, but I am still unable to view a .mov video that is HD... Does anyone know what I need to do or what application I need to be able to view this without having to get Final Cut???

If you have a video exported from Final Cut using one of Final Cut editing codecs. I would say you need Final Cut. You could ask who ever gave you the video to export the video from Final Cut using one of Quicktime native codecs... Animation codec or h.264.

How to view large videos on BB 8800

I need help in viewing large videos on my BB 8800. I know only Videos - Up to 320 x 240, up to 800 kbps, up to 30 frames per second are compatible, but all large videos have a higher resolution. It shoots an error when tried playing.
I want to view files with ext .avi, .wmv and .mpg files with higher dimensions. somewhat like this :
Media type: .avi
Video size: 480x360
Audio: 32000hz, 16bps, 2ch
Length: 0:15:23
Bitrate: 495kbps
Please help.

How to view youtube videos from iphone 4 to tv using composite AV cable

Hi,
Can any one please help me as to how to view youtube online videos on TV through my iphone 4. I tried connecting the iphone 4 and TV with a composite AV cable however I can hear only the audio but am not able to view the videos.

It seems so stupid that you cant sort videos by date. Some please tell is that we are idiots and tell us how? And if u simply cant, well a big shout out goes to google for being right on top of things. I hate google! Company is too big and they cant keep up apparently. Sooo much junk on you tube and they cant give us filter and sort options on the most widely used tablet on the market.? Gawd pleeeeze tell me im an idiot!

How to view local videos on iOS mobile device

How do I view local videos on my iOS device running an Adobe Air app? I know how to view the CameraRoll for iOS in Flex on Adobe Air, but the CameraRoll class only brings up photos, no videos. When I use:

It looks like it's simply not available in CameraRoll - is support planned? What are other possibilities - File? Navtive extension?
Would AIR even be able to play typical phone video formats? From a quick search, it seems that the iPhone captures h.264 in a mov container, while at least one Android phone captures MPEG-4 in a 3gp container. I'll try transferring such videos to my computer and embedding them in a test app just to see if they play.

ETA: The docs for NetStream list h.264 and 3gp as supported formats. From my testing, however, NetStream does play the iPhone .mov file, but does not play the Android .3gp file. A Loader plays neither.

How to view YouTube video through search engines

Since upgrading it IOS5 I have been unable to view YouTube videos if searched via a search engine and then clicked on the link. It gives However if searched for the videos in youTube it seems to play. Any ideas?

See if VLC can play the MPEG video. VLC can play most formats that QuickTime might not be able to play.
If you like QuickTime, give Perian a try. It's a plug that allows QuickTime to play more video formats.

How to view original video files from my Canon Vixia

I have a Canon Vixia camcorder and I cannot find a way to view the original mts files on my iMac. I hate to say this, but my old windows laptop to does this without any issue, so that's what I'll continue to do until something changes.
When I mount the camera on my Mac, it only shows one giant AVCHD file. I have read the posts about using iMovie to import the AVCHD file and then export the individual clips, but frankly that ***** for a few different reasons that I don't really feel the need to explain.
Why does Mac not allow me to simply view the files as they are on the camera? I don't edit with iMovie, I edit with Premiere and the original mts files are just fine with me. I love my iMac and all my other Apple products, but let me view my files! ...please?

AVCHD utilizes a proprietary container format. The MTS files are in there, you just have to know where to look.
Navigate to the root directory of the memory card. You should see a rather large (depending on how many clips are on there) file called PRIVATE. You need to right-click that and select "Show Package Contents". Inside, find the file AVCHD, right-click it and select "Show Package Contents". Inside, find the file BDMV, right-click it and select "Show Package Contents". Inside, find the folder STREAM and open it. You should find the MTS files there.

ClickToPlugin works great. It blocks all of those things and you can click to let them run. You can also whitelist sites that you want to play automatically.

How to view the video transition ?

Hi there,
I am new to Final Cut Express. I just bought it bcos the store has opening 10% discount offer.
I went to effects > transition tab & saw there are a list of video transition. I can only see how the transition looks like after I drag it into the video timeline & placed it between 2 still photos.
But how to I skim thru & see how each one looks like before I choose it ? When I click any of the transition, both the preview screens do not show the transition !!
Any ideas ?

I personally print a manual.
You should be able to print just the pages you require without printing the entire 1150 odd pages.
In Help>Final cut Express User Manual, open it up and go to Index, Click T and find Transition in the list.
There will be a load of sub-entries, click the page number of a likely sub-entry and the PDF opens to that exact page. I find this quicker than looking in a book, although like you a real pain to study. Give me a real book any day.
Chapter 35 pages 520 through 524 explains what transitions do in the PDF manual I use.
