How to view Hijri Calendar in ICal

Hi,
I am using ICal on Leopard and have a few calendars that I publish privately. Is there a way to incorporate Hijri Calendar with the default Gregorian Calendar. i.e I want to be able to view the Hijri dates along side the default ones...
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated..

There is a difference between sharing and publishing. The latter means getting your calendar to display as an ordinary web page: firstly this cannot be done with a calendar listed under iCloud (this was also true with MobileMe) but only if it's listed under 'On My Mac'. The facility is still available in iCal for such calendars, but the problem is that it has to be published to a CalDav server because MobileMe, which used to take the published files and turn it into a web page, is not longer available. It's assumed in the Help that you are going to be running such a server yourself, which obviously requires a fair standard of technical knowledge. It's been claimed that Box.net can do this but I've seen complaints that it doesn't work.
Sharing, which you can do with iCloud calendars, makes the calendars available for others to subscribe to in a CalDAV client - iCal itself is such a client, and you can also do this with Google calendar - this does require the recipient to have a Google account. The process with iCloud is described in this page and the pages following:

BusyCal has various sharing options and there is a full user guide available here:

  • Can't view published calendar with iCal 2.1 on  icalx

I have spent several days reading disussions and anything else I could find, but no luck.
I need to publish my boss' calendar online so the rest of our team can view it , up-to-date. We first tried publising it on .Mac:
We were able to view it on and off, specifically from PCs, which is what everyone else is on. Sometimes it would work, other times it would say it can't find the calendar.
I then tried using icalx. I finally got it to work with a "test" calendar from my Powerbook (with iCal 1.5.5 on OS X 10.3.9. Everthing worked fine, the page showed up on iCalX no problem. I then sent my boss the "how to". His calendar is now loaded on iCalx, however it does not work. He is running OS X 10.4, with new iCal.
I then had my sister publish one from my house computer to test it again, on OS X 10.3.9 as well, and it again worked fine.
When i click on the html page in iCalX, it says "Cannot find webpage" when I click on his schedule, but works fine with the other two "Testers" that I already had up.
It seems it is a bug in the new OS X ?
How can I get this to work? Thanks a TON in advance!
    Tom

I too had a similar problem. I published a couple of calendars to .Mac, iCalX, and iCalShare (I had iCalShare grab my calendar from iCalX). I wanted to see how my calendars looked from these different servers.
I really liked the look and feel of my calendars on the .Mac server but I could never view these calendars from a Windows machine. I also could never view any of the Calendar from the Mac calendar Library from a Windows machine.
I ended up having iCalX host my calendars.

  • How to Sync two calendars in iCal

OK, here is my problem. I can access two calendars with iCal (one is on Google Calendar and the other one is on a Microsoft Exchange 2007 server) how can I synchronize them the best? I want to keep both in their original place, but I also want things to show up in both.

    Stephen,
It seems to me that you have correctly determined that it makes sense to only publish an identical calendar from one of the computers.
After appropriately backing up your calendars, you might want to consider Resetting .Mac Sync. It appears as if both of your computers are using 10.4.6, but just in case..."If you sync between computers with different versions of Mac OS X, try to reset the sync data from the computer with Mac OS X 10.4, if possible."
Make sure that "Synchronize my calendars with other computers using .Mac is checked in the General Preference of the iMac.
    ;~)

  • How to view resource calendars on iOS

On Server 3.1.2 / MacOS 10.9.4, I have set up a number of calendars for locations and resources. Each has been given a Group as a delegate. Each user who is a member of the group can view these calendars on Macs; this is all working just as expected. However, how can the users access these calendars on their iPhones (running latest iOS7)?
To be clear, user Bob has an account on the server, and has his own calendar. He can access this calendar on his iPhone (and Mac) by entering the appropriate info into the calendar account. The issue is that Bob is a member of a group Coders. All members of the group Coders can see the calendar for the resource Comfy_Chair on their Macs, and can add/edit/delete events. However, Bob cannot get Comfy_Chair on his iPhone.
    Thanks.

What exactly is the "Location" calendar? Is it an actual .ics calendar? Or is it a list of locations in directory? If it's not actually a calendar, then it won't show up in the Calendar application. If you want to connect to your LDAP server, you can do that, and it will show up in Address Book, but I don't think locations will be seen. I have not confirmed this though.

  • How to view "Location" calendars on iPhone 3.0?

Our iCal server has "Location" calendars (set up with Directory.app) for things like room reservations and "vacation" calendars.
These calendars are visible as delegate calendars in iCal only.
I can set up my iPhone to view my personal calendar as a CalDAV calendar (not "syncing" the calendar via iTunes) by just adding the calendar URL to the iPhone and specifying my server address and account/password -- works as expected.
But I can't figure out a way to add these "Location" calendars to my iPhone -- adding the Location calendar URL under my name isn't working -- it seems to accept what I enter, but never shows in the Calendar app like my personal calendar does.
Thoughts on this? Has anybody got this to work?
    - Steve

  • IOS 7: How to view shared calendars using apple Calendar server

We use an OS X Server with Calendar server. On OS X you can see shared (delegated) calendars in Calendar by selecting the them in the preferences.
Using iOS 6 one could view shared CalDAV calendars by adding the same account more than once each with a different server URL. A fair bit more work but once configured it worked like a charm.
The Calendar app on iOS 7 still does not show delegated or shared calendars using the Calendar server from Apple. Because iOS 7 does not allow to add a CalDAV account more than once the iOS 6 workaround is no longer possible.

  • Lion iCal:  How to view many calendars, but reminders for only one

I'm in an all MAC office setting.  I havea MacBook Pro 15 with Lion OS.  I get pop up reminders for the seven colleagues whose calendars I have selected.  I only want pop up reminders for my own calendar, but don't see any way to make that happen.  Opening the "REMINDERS" drop down box at the top of the right hand sidebar removes calendar entries from view (not what I want) and has the same functionality as the "Calendars" button at the top left of the iCal window. Any recommendations would be deeply appreciated.

  • How to sync iPhone calendar with iCal on Mac?

When I migrated to iCloud, I lost all iCal data on my computer, but still have it on my iPhone. Any way to force iPhone calendar data onto my Mac? I have tried refreshing the calendar and turning the calendar on and off in my Mac's iCloud preferences.

Your profile indicates you are running Leopard v10.5.8.
You mac must be running Lion v10.7.2 in order to enable iCloud on your Mac.  Apple - iCloud - Learn how to set up iCloud on all your devices
If everything is up to date and you've tried turning off Calendars and turned it back on and that didn't work, go to ~/Library/Preferences
Move the com.apple.systempreferences.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Trash.
    Restart your Mac.

For Lion:   To find the Home folder in OS X Lion, open the Finder, hold the Option key, and choose Go > Library

    What tasks, from what application?
In calendar view? Tell me what you mean by calendar view?
In the calendar app, you can choose Agenda, People or Schedule view (while in the Calendar app, touch the top blue bar dropdown arrow on the right and choose.
Also, in the Hub, pull down the list and you'll see the next 2-3 scheduled events.

  • How do I move calendars in iCal from "on my Mac" to the Cloud?

I have several calendars listed as On My Mac that are still listed as publishing to my iDisk (which we know they're not). How can I move them to the iCloud?

Thanks for catching that. I didn't notice my signature. No, I'm running 10.8.1 and have everything updated to the very latest versions.
I'm syncing many calendars to iCloud now, but there are about 10 that are not. They're still listed as "On My Mac" and I need to move them to iCloud.

  • Microsoft Exchange shared calendars through iCal on iPad or Mac

This is surely not an original question, but -
My company uses Microsoft Exchange.  I have synced it to my iPad for calendar, contacts, and email, and it works very well.
We also use shared calendars, and I utilize this feature often via Outlook on my PC.  However ...
    1.  I'd like to be able to view MS Exchange shared calendars on iCal on my iPad.  Is this possible?  Obviously, no one will grant me permission to view their contacts or emails, but calendar-only is what we share.  Is this possible?
    2.  Is it possible to view MS Exchange shared calendars through iCal on a Mac?  I have a colleague who has an iMac with iCal synced to Exchange and it works great.  However, we do not know how to view shared calendars (from MS Exchange) through iCal.  Again, we want to share calendars-only - no email or contacts.  Can anyone help with this?
    THANKS SO MUCH FOR HELP.

  • Linking calendars in iCal

    Hey
How can I link calendars in iCal, if I have two or more calendars I want to turn into one calendar?
    Sincerly
    Niels Martin - Denmark

No, at the time I am writing this the topic is not answered. Simply applying the 10.5.6 combo update did not work for me when I had this problem.
This did NOT work either - http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1906?viewlocale=en_US.
    This is what worked:
    0) make sure both iCal and Mail are closed, and it might not be a bad idea to temporarily shut off any syncing software you may have active
    1) start with the calendar folders from Tiger that are located in Users/{yourusername}/Library/Application Support/iCal/Sources, the ones with crazy names like "2E28E612-467E-4981-975E-D07A31AC39C4.calendar" which contain files" called "corestorage.ics," "Index," and "info.plist"; if "all" you have is an iCal backup library (.icbu file), then you can go to a Tiger machine, restore to that iCal, and then take the above calendar folders from it
    2) copy the calendar folders to the desktop of your Leopard machine
    3) read this thread (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1196389&tstart=0) down to the posts by Thierry Girard
    4) do what he says with the text editor, but you can use TextEdit, and look for either the SEQUENCE:-1 or the PRIORITY:-1. Set either one to just 1 (remove the negative sign); I had some value related to a MICROSOFT this or that, and I did not change it at all.
    5) take the edited calendar folders from your desktop and move them into /Users/{yourusername}/Library/Calendars
    6) start up iCal; at this point, I was in business
    I hope this is helpful.
