How come sometimes my iPod Touch gets stuck updating an app and then just deletes it instead?
The update bar on the app gets stuck on empty and then the next time I sync the app gets deleted.
It is really annoying to lose all my data when updating an app, and it has happend more than once!
Any idea why it does this? I am scared to update my favorite apps for fear that they could be deleted.

I never had an app being deleted. You can always udate the app on the computer and then sync.

How to view all the issues in the same page in OTM

Login to OTM then you can see "tools"in the top most right corner click on that and select options.In the options popup window select "Tree preference" change the number of nodes.

How do you get rid of the pending update from app store updates screen?

I own an 64GB iPad 2+3G. The App Store icon has a red circle with a number 3 in it. That means I have 3 updates pending.
I tried to download the updates to Pandora and Kindle using 3G at first. It did not work. I assumed it was because it was over 20 MB.
(I did not try the Vegas Towers one.) I went to the library and it still would not download via their wifi.
The description of the updates mention the retina display of the new iPad (3). Is that the cause of the download problem? I have already downloaded the iOS 5.1 at the library. Well, it is not that big a deal for me if I don't get the updates. But how do I get rid of the pending updates? How do I get rid of that little red circle? Also, I have not been able to use the Pandora or Kindle apps. They just keep saying waiting. I got boxes that said download failed and offering choice of done or retry. Since nothing happens, I chose done. So, I cannot update my apps, and in the meantime I cannot use the apps because the downloads stalled. I would like to abort the downloads and get rid of the updates from the update screen. I want to be able to use the apps again. Can anyone provide a solution? Thanks!

The problem has been resolved for me. I am a little fuzzy on how it got fixed.
I only have 3G, so I think I went to the library to use wi-fi.
I think I just deleted the stuck apps, and the downloaded them again. You do not have to pay again when you download a previously purchased app.
It is now August, and fortunately I have not had any stuck apps lately.
As you may already know, you cannot download an app over 20 MB via 3G.
I have the Kindle app also. No new updates lately. I only bought one thing using Kindle. It was a guide to iPad that was only $1.99 or so, but it did not really have anything that cannot be found in normal free Apple guide.
I have borrowed an ebook from the library using Overdrive app. You can choose the ebook version from Kindle.
I don't have any weather apps.
Let me know what happened when you get the chance.

In the 'Notifications' section of the 'System Preferences' app, there is no tab for managing the notifications of System Updates nor App Store.
Hey--- I like auto-checking for updates, and hey--- I like auto-downloading them in the background.
BUT I do not like being notified of updates in the middle of working! Especially when it's iTunes updates. Grrrr.
Any chance this is easy and I just missed it?

How to view new comments on Wiki or Blog Pages?

I am trying to find a way (either via RSS, via Email or via a custom search) to be able to identify OSX Server Wiki- and Blog-pages with new comments easily. Unfortunately this seems to be somewhat of a problem, since most searches I tried do not include comments. Plus, I could not figure out if there is a RSS feed for new comments on posts (the usual RSS feeds do not include the comments on the pages). Does anybody know a way to get this working with the 10.5 Server Collaboration tools?

I have searched this forum extensively and found lots of people with the same issues.. but no solutions. It seems like this just might not be possible with the Server Wiki. If anyone does find a solution I would love to hear what it is!
In the meantime.. I have been telling users to add a comment, then click the edit button, add the text "Comment Added" as the comment about the page edit, and then click save. This makes it so that the page has been "updated" and will show up in an RSS feed with the title "Comment Added". It is a silly solution and adds extra time and complexity for people.. but so far it is the best solution I have come up with.

I have a Mac book pro with iPhoto updated to iPhoto 11 we have 2 users on our Mac myself and my husband. I recently loaded all of our pictures from a recent trip into iPhoto under my login screen. Can these photos also be transferred into my husbands iPhoto library under his login screen ? I want to transfer some not all of them and already deleted them from the camera card.

Use iPhoto Sharing.
If you want the other user to be able to see the pics, but not add to, change or alter your library, then enable Sharing in your iPhoto (Preferences -> Sharing), leave iPhoto running and use Fast User Switching to open the other account. In that account, enable 'Look For Shared Libraries'. Your Library will appear in the other source pane.
Any user can drag a pic from the Shared Library to their own in the iPhoto Window.
Remember iPhoto must be running in both accounts for this to work.

I recently had to have my computer hard drive "cleaned." While this was going on, I broke my SG3, and now own an SG4.
I also changed servers for the internet. When I tried to plug in my SG4, after not being on iTunes for some time, all my data was erased.
No every time I try and do ANYTHING, it asks for my PW.....which is ALWAYS WRONG.....though I've reset it over and over and over.
I want my data back (contacts, pics, etc.). But I can't even maneuver around iTunes any more.
How in the **** do I get someone from iTunes to give me assisstance for the myriad of problems for which I am encountering. This is a CLUSTERF.....

There is no such thing as an "SG3" or "SG4". Did you possibly mean a 3GS and iPhone4?
It has always been very basic to ensure that a backup exists of your media and other important files. Computers fail, hard drives crashes... things happen. Do you not have a backup? The iPhone, like all iDevices is NOT a backup of your media, but rather a mirror of the content in the iTunes library on your computer.
If your contacts, pics, etc are not on your computer, no backups of the iPhone exist, and they are not on the phone, they are gone.
No one can magically make them re-appear.

IOS 8 update lost my stats on my game, however the stats are still in Game Center. How to I get the Game Center to update my app?

I've lost my game stats and upgrades because of the IOS8 update. I can see my stats in Game Center , however I've tride signing in and out of Game Center in hope of the information updating in the game app . No such luck . Now Ive never backed up my ipad . yes - use the diagonal stripe at the bottom right hand side of either window and drag it to the left until it fills half the screen. Then you will see the other window underneath. Click anywhere in it so that it comes to the front. Repeat the first sentence for this window. Grab the Grey menu bar at the top of this window and drag the whole window to the right. The previous window will reappear in the left hand half of the screen, whilst the second window remains on the right. Both half size.

You mean you want to see the XML source?
You need to replace the characters '<' and '&' with corresponding entities '<' and '&'. You can use replaceAll, but do the ampersands first.
Then I suggest you probably want to put them in a <PRE> block.

Lost prompt to update pages that use template..

Yes I know I should not use templates but I do on very small sites with under 10 pages. When making adjustments to the templates I used to get a prompt asking me if I want to update pages that use that template, but I no longer get that. I must have changed something but I am wondering how I can change it back. I can manually update but I always forget and I do not wantto go that route....anyone know how I can get that prompt back to update pages that use template? Thanks much!

No, I've suggested SSI's instead of Library items, or a combination of SSI's and a template instead of nested templates, but I've never suggested using SSI's instead of templates, although it is a workable solution.
I dont think it matters what I have in the code. It used to prompt me whenever I changed ANYTHING and had to save.
I do. However, try this simple test -
1. Create a new, blank HTML file.
2. Save it with FILE | Save as Template... (verify that the page is saved in the "Templates" folder)
3. Spawn a new child page from this template with FILE | New > Page from Template.
4. Save this page with any name you prefer.
5. Return to the template page and change the title from Untitled document to "Whatever". Save it. Are you prompted? You should be.
If you are not prompted then there is something systemically wrong with your DW installation.

Getting rid of Firefox update page

Does anyone know how to get rid of the "thanks for updating" page that opens on the first tab in firefox after it's been updated? We have a guest account that refreshes the home directory upon login (this is prior to the 10.6 guest account that's being offered now). I'm trying to blast out the FF update to my lab stations and the guest account keeps on opening up with the FF update page because it doesn't save state from the previous user who logged in. Is there a pref file that i can edit to get rid of that page or some other file i can edit? I definitely need to maintain all the other prefs (eg. bookmarks etc.)

I guess I should have been more clear about the idiosyncrasies of our setup since it's not that easy. Our "Guest" login account is almost like a kiosk account in that it's based off of a custom default user template that has all the prefs and bookmarks etc. stored so that even though the account gets wiped out upon every login, so as to create a fresh experience for each subsequent user, the experience is always consistent. We used Mike Bombich's script from years past & as per his description: This script removes a default user home directory and replaces it with a fresh copy from a template.
Thus, I COULD edit & save the FFOX prefs so as to get rid of the FFox "Thanks for updating homepage tab" BUT that would require me to update all the user template files associated in FFOX's profile stored in ~/Library/Application\ Support/Firefox/* on every station in the labs.
I would much rather, on a granular lever, know exactly which file and which line of code I need to edit and, en masse, send a batch unix cmd to all the lab stations to update that particular file.
Any ideas on this? I'm sure someone knows the answer to this. Hope I've cleared up my requirements too.

Pages.zip won't open in pages 09

I have a Macbook thats running on Lion with pages 09, I also use pages on my ipad. When i save on my ipad then download it to my mac, it saves as pages.zip. I then try and open it up on my macbook but it says i need to update pages, when i try to update pages it says i eed to update to mavericks. When i tried to update to mavericks, it says that my mac is 1 year too old. I kow you can save from the ipad as a .doc and open it up on pages 09, but i have to write essays for college and when it converts from pages to doc then back to pages again, it screws up all my fonts and footnotes and i have to spend ages to sort it out again. Is there a pluggin or some thing that you can use on pages 09 to open up the ew format for pages? please it woul really help. what can i do with out exporting it to .doc?

If you are writing essays for college, they should be in the expected native format of the Professor's application. If that is Office for Mac 2011 (Word), or MS Office 2010 Word on a PC, then you should originate your essay in that native format, with these tools, and without translation via export. It will save you a ton of grief over the IOS/OS X Pages experience.
If you cannot meet the schedule for essay delivery because you have resolutely chosen to use Pages, and risk document corruption or loss, the professor is unlikey to give you a perfect paper sympathy grade. Once you emerge from college and into what one hopes, professional employment, you will find that the ability to change your tools and thinking will become an on demand experience and requirement.

I have two tables, one is project_header, another is project_comments. looks like below:
Project_Header:

Detail page is a vertical report(SQL Query Type) listing all of column values of the two tables for a pariticular TrackNum.
when click on Update button on the detail page, it will direct to Update page. On Update page rendering, I perform two processes,
one is Automated Row Fetch from PRS_Header table, there is no problem. For another, is a process with PL/SQL
anonymous block. The source is below:

But when running, COMMENTS cannot come out. What's wrong?
