How to view the code of a procedure?
Hi All,
Is there any means by which I can view the code of an Oracle package or procedure .
I am working on Bentheic Editor.
Also is there any way by which I can see the output of the function written inside a package. I know in PL/SQL we can do it by
Select FN1 from dual;
But how dowe do it from another editor. If I have given some DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE statements , I do not get to see the results on the screen.
Can anyone help?
Regards,
Amit.
hi
i tried thiis LIKE
select dbms_metadata.get_ddl('PROCEDURE','INS_DATA') from dual
but its not showing the full output
DBMS_METADATA.GET_DDL('PROCEDURE','INS_DATA')
CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE "SCOTT"."INS_DATA"
is
begin
insert into temp val
i think the best why to get the full text is using the user_soures view. before using this set the pages 999
thanx

How to view the code/logic for the built-in oracle functions
Hi,
How can we view the logic behind the oracle supplied built-in functions like LAST_DAY , MONTHS_BETWEEN etc.,
I tried to view the same using the sys.STANDARD package , the observations are given below
function LAST_DAY(RIGHT DATE) return DATE;
pragma BUILTIN('LAST_DAY',38, 12, 12); -- PEMS_DATE, DATE_LAST_DAY
pragma FIPSFLAG('LAST_DAY', 1450);
Regards
LokHow can we view the logic behind the oracle supplied built-in functions like LAST_DAY , MONTHS_BETWEEN etc., You cannot. These built-ins, are 'built-in'.... As far as I know they are implemented in Oracle's kernel, as C code.

How to view the java code of the message mapping,
Hi Experts,
<b>how to view the java code of the message mapping,</b>
how to get the background java code of the message mapping(graphical mapping).
And where to view it?Hi sowmya,
Open any Message mapping in IR. Press <b>CtrlShift0(zero)</b> to open a new menu.
There you will find an option "Is Java Source Code Available?"
There will be an export button nearby. Use it to get the code.
Open it in a zip , you will see the hide java code.
The JAVA code for graphical msg mapping is in below folder:
\usr\sap\<SID>\<DVEBMGS10>\j2ee\cluster\server0\temp\classpath_resolver
Here all the mapping jars are there in this folder.
Just decompile these jars and you can see the code. -

How to view the table at the application level
Dear All,
How to view the table in the Data Dictionary at the application level, If a table is created at the database level by using CREATE statement.
code/
create table zmard as select * from sapone.mard where 1 = 2
/code
I would like to view the table above, which is created at the Oracle database level in the Data Dictionary.
can anyone guess the solution.
Best wishes
MaheshHi
U should create a program using SQL native in order to select and show the data.
By SE11 or directly in the program u can define a structure like your table:
DATA: BEGIN OF W_ZMARD,
FIELD,
END OF W_ZMARD.
EXEC.
OPEN CURSO FOR SELECT * FROM ZMARD
ENDEXEC.
DO.
EXEC.
FETCH NEXT CURSOR INTO :W_ZMARD
ENDEXEC.
IF SY-SUBRC <> 0.
EXIT.
ENDIF.
WRITE: / W_ZMARD-FIELD,
ENDDO.
EXEC.
CLOSE CURSOR
ENDEXEC.
I don't know if it's possible to create a view in SE11, because it's needs a table just defined in SE11, u can create a new view ZMARD based on MARD but I don't believe it'll use your table.

Hi
Can anyone explain me like how to view the Customer and vendor invoices through T.Code or through path.
Thanks & Regardshi,
you can view the customer & vendor invoice by giving the FI document number in FB03. Then you can Go for Environment - Document Environment - Original Document. This will take you to the Customer invoice which was raised in the SD module. or vendor invoice which was raised in the MM module.
you can follow the same process from the FI report : FK10N for vendors & FD10N for Customers.
hope its useful.

I started to learn HTML, and I'm using text edit and everything is going fine, when I save the file with a .html extension and open it with safari I only view the code and not the webpage that was supposed to be created.
That is because you don't have a web server configured and running to serve the html page. In order to see the page in a browser you need to access it using a url similar to http://localhost/~yourUserName if you are serving the page from your user account.
Prior to Mountain Lion you could go into web sharing and turn on the web server. With Mountain Lion there is no option, other than using terminal, to turn on the web server. The web sharing menu item has been removed in Mountain Lion. Apache is still on your computer but it will take a little searching these forums or the Internet to find how to turn it on.
If you want a graphic user interface to turn on/off the Apache server you could download and install a server application like xampp, http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html. I use this and it works well. -
How to view the DDL script prior to object deployment in OWB 10g R2?
How to view the DDL script prior to object deployment in OWB 10g R2?
Here is what I' looking for: in 10gR2, let's say I've built dimension X, but it's not deployed yet. I've selected one of the deployment options, let's say: "Deploy to Catalog only". Now, I'd like to see a DDL script that will be executed at the deployment time. Where can I find this script? What screen? What menu?
Thanks,
vrViewing the Scripts
After you have generated scripts for your target objects, you can open the scripts and
view the code. Warehouse Builder generates the following types of scripts:
■ DDL scripts: Creates or drops database objects.
■ SQL*Loader control files: Extracts and transports data from file sources.
■ ABAP scripts: Extracts and loads data from SAP systems.
To view the generated scripts:
1. From the Generation Results window, select an object in the navigation tree on the
left of the Generation Results dialog.
2. Select the Scripts tab on the right of this dialog.
The Scripts tab contains a list of the generated scripts for the object you selected.
3. Select a specific script and click the View Code button.

OOM PermGen... How to view the content of permgen
I have a pretty big java application running on windows and linux (redhat) using JBoss as the application server.
The application has been running for a long time without issues and now, with the end of a new release of our software, under heavy load, we are running out of perm gen space.
What I would like to see is a tool that lets me view the content of the perm gen space so I can determine why we are using so much memory.
I am aware of jmap -permstat (on linux only) that should let you view some info about permgem but for me, jmap connects to the java process and never comes back. I tried a profiler (jprofiler) and again, I can't find info about what is occupying the permgen memory space.
Can someone suggest tools, or methods to get to the content of the permgen space so I can determine what our issue is?
Here are our startup options; as you can see it has been tuned quite a bit for maximum performance for our usage patterns.
I would appreciate any help chasing down this issue.

How to view the History of a Crystal Reports iView in EP6?
How to view the History of a Crystal Reports iView in EP6?
Our Crystal reports are viewed via Crystal Enterprise and are both BW and non-BW Crystal reports.
I have looked at the three supplied iViews from Business Objects (alert, folder and thumbnail) but I have only been able to access the last instance or run on demand a CR.
Our users would prefer to see a listing of the past runs of the report and choose which report to view. What parameters need set in the EP6 iView to see the history of a report?Hi Heather,
it is correct that there is no sample iView that shows the History of Crystal Reports that are stored in Crystal Enterprise but there a sample codes on our web site and there are sample codes as part of the SDK documentation that show how to call the history and you should be able to take the code and create your own Java or ASP iView based on that.

hope this helps
