How to view thumbnail image in Grid before uploading

I am creating a file upload application. I am using a Grid with a filereferencelist object to list all of the uploaded files. I would like to place a thumbnail image of the file in the grid before it is uploaded. I basically used this example from Coding Cowboys (http://weblog.cahlan.com/2006/12/flex-upload-component.html) but I need to add a column for the thumbnail image.

I seen examples of an image getting loaded into a canvas.

What if I used this as an Item Render field in the grid?

  • How to show thumbnail images in finder?

    Windows can do this, so I'm sure Mac must be able to ....
    When I am viewing a list of jpegs in the finder, how can I see thumbnail versions of the images? Currently, all that's displayed is the jpeg icon.
    Thanks.

    If you have files that don't show a thumbnail icon, it may be that whatever program created the files didn't create a thumbnail image.
    You can add the preview image quite easily using a program like
    QuickImage (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/19253)

  • How to view the image(blob) to smaller window

    Hi Friends,
    I am browsing photo data (BLOB) column using SQLDev.
    But the display is too big Its not so comfortable to view.
    How do I resize the display window to something like 2"x2" ?
    Thanks a lot

    It all depends on what you are doing. You asked how to resize the window and I said that you can drag the window size to enlarge it to see the photograph. If this is not useful then having an additional column of thumbnail images is an option. I don't know what you are building or what your app is. SQL Developer is a GUI that helps you look at your data. For a blob it provides a window for you to see the image[i] as it is. I typically save images in their original format and in some instance I create thumbnails (http://sueh.visualblogging.com/) Yes, this is a manual process, and yes there are 2 images. In your case this might mean changing the table structure and so not what you are after.

  • How to view an image at runtime?

    Hi all,
    I am developing a web application using JSP,struts, ADF BC with JDeveloper 10.1.3.
    I have added
    <input type="image" src="../../images/calendr3.gif"/>
    in my Databound table on my JSP page.
    I can see the image at Design time but no image at runtime.
    What should I do to view the image at runtime??
    I have tried
    <input type="image" src="<%=request.getContextPath()%>/images/calendr3.gif"/>
    in this case JDeveloper completely stops functioning. I don't know why? Maybe it's not allowed to have a jsp tag within a databound jsp form???

    Hi,
    did you add the image to JDeveloper (hit the refresh button) so it gets deployed with the application ?
    Also, look at the generated JSP code to see how the image is accessed. I am sure you will find an improperly defined URL

  • How to view an image @ 100% ?

    When I do some editing in iPhoto, especially sharpening, I'd like to see it @100%.
    There is no indication at what % I'm viewing the image.
    Is there any way to know that ?
    When clicking "edit" on the bottom, at what size the image opens?
    Thanks!

    ok, I found an Apple article from 2007 which explains how to do that. I'm posting it here for others:
    ===================================
    iPhoto: Sharpness adjustment may not be apparent when viewing at less than 100 percent
    Last Modified on: July 13, 2007
    Article: 301425
    When you view an image at less than full size, iPhoto smooths it (a technique known as anti-aliasing) to get rid of artifacts that result from scaling down the photo. The relationship between anti-aliasing and sharpening is a trade-off; although anti-aliasing does not modify the actual image file, it does counter the effect of sharpening when viewing the image at less than full size.
    Because of this, if you sharpen a photo, close it, then reopen it again at a less than 100-percent view, you may get the impression that your sharpness changes were not saved. In reality they were, but since the image has been re-aliased to fit your screen, the image's true sharpness may not be apparent.
    To evaluate whether an image is sharp or needs sharpening, you should view the photo at 100 percent/full size while editing in a separate window. To open the photo in a separate window, you can either Control-click the image and choose "Edit in a separate window" from the shortcut menu, or change your iPhoto preferences:
    From the iPhoto menu, choose Preferences.
    In the General pane, locate the preference for "Double-click photo."
    Set the radio button to "Opens photo in edit window."
    Close the preferences window.
    Now photos will open in a separate window when you double-click them. Once in the separate window, choose 100% from the Size pop-up menu. If you don't see the Size menu, widen the window until it appears.
    Tip: If you are editing the photo from one of the other view options, you can press the 1 key to quickly jump to 100 percent view.
    Other applications, such as Adobe Photoshop, handle anti-aliasing differently, so the degree of apparent sharpness can vary from one application to the next when viewing an image at a scaled-down size. You should see consistency when comparing the image at 100 percent across other applications.

  • How to view blob/image in uix?

    Version: JDev 9.0.5.2
    Goal: To view an image that is coming from a database table.
    Set Up:
    In the database: I have a database table with a blob data type. The blob data type contains a pointer to the image in a database directory.
    In JDev.model: I have an Entity Object and View Object that contains the column attribute with a blob/blob domain data type.
    Question: How do I build a uix page that allows me to pull in the blob (image)?
    Thanks for the assistance.

  • How Adobe viewer scales images?

    Hi,
    I am putting a JPEG file of lesser resolution than the PDF and is scaling it inside PDF. I have a doubt how the viewer scales the image while rendering? Is it just pixel replication or can we specify inside PDF to use some filters for scaling to get better quality? Can someone please help me regarding this doubt?
    Thanks,
    Sham

    I found the answer myself from the PDF standard. Image interpolation is done if the /Interpolate field in the image XObject is set true. I am quoting from the PDF standard below.
    "When the resolution of a source image is significantly lower than that of the output device, each source sample covers many device pixels. As a result, images can appear jaggy or blocky. These visual artifacts can be reduced by applying an image interpolation algorithm during rendering. Instead of painting all pixels covered by a source sample with the same color, image interpolation attempts to produce a smooth transition between adjacent sample values. Image interpolation is enabled by setting the Interpolate entry in the image dictionary to true. It is disabled by default because it may increase the time required to render the image."

    If you mean viewing thumbnails in Windows Explorer, because Adobe refuses to do the right thing and supply the necessary file, you need to use a 3rd party application:

    }plz help me regarding this concept

    I have learnt a technique when I am programming in flash.
    Assume you have a photo cat.jpg with 10 units in width and 10 units in height. You can have a view(viewport) 10 units in width and 10 units in height.
    The following shows the width of the photo:
    012345679
    To show an effect of panorama, you can draw 2 photo at any time. I assume the eyesight of a person move from left to right with 1 unit at a time.
    The original image is 0123456789.
    If the person move eyesight to right by one unit, the image become
    1234567890
    If the person move eyesight to right by one more unit, the image become
    2345678901
    You can program the by drawing 2 images at any time.
    0123456789(zero width for second image)
    123456789(0, 1 unit in width in second image)
    23456789(01, 2 unit in width in second image)
    To display part of image, try this link to a program to crop image

  • How to view data of 1 Grid?

    public class Grid<M extends ModelData> extends BoxComponent {}
    When I create a variable
    protected Grid<D> grid;
    after that, I generate data for it.
    How can I view grid's data on debug screen of NetBean?

    Rahul,
    Structures do not contain data on their own.  They are populated by a program.  In your case, there are about a dozen  standard SAP programs that use this structure.  The structure is populated, temporarily, only when you run one of these programs.
    The data may originate from anything from within the program: fields in a table, from calculations, from other data objects.  There is no data viewer for a structure.
    Long Text in SAP is usually (but not always) stored in a couple of generic text tables. Usually PR long text is stored in STXH and STXL. Before you get your hopes up, you should be aware that the long text data is encoded, and it cannot be viewed directly in a table viewer such as SE16.  If it is inadequate for you to use ME53 to read the text in a Purchase req, then you should contact an ABAPer, who can write a custom program to view selected texts that are stored in STXH/STXL.
    Best Regards,

  • How to view NEF images in CS5

    I just had to re-install my photoshop and Bridge because Bridge wouldn't open at all and Photoshop was not working well.  Now that I have it re-downloaded, Photoshop won't open any of my NEF images at all and Bridge will only show the NEF thumbnail and not the photo.  I have tried to update my camera raw but I keep getting error messages.  One camera raw update I tried said it couldn't download because there is a newer version.  When I tried to download a newer version I clicked on the plug-in icon and I got a message that Photoshop doesn't recognize that kind of file.
    I just need Photoshop to open my raw images and I would like to be able to view them in Bridge.  What can I do?

    Best place to start is by telling us which camera model the NEF files are from.

  • How do I assign images to grid cells based on their random number value?

    Hello everyone!
         I need a good point (or shove) in the correct direction.
    Background
         I've created (with previous help from this forum) a 12 x 9 random number grid which cycles through the numbers 1 to 9 a total of twelve times each. I've then created a button which shuffles the current grid's cells each time it is clicked. I now want to use 9 images that I have imported as individual symbols into the library (I have given them each their own class titled "skin1," "skin2," ... "skin9") as cell labels or the equivalent. I have also set the images up as individual movie clips (using the .Sprite class as the extended base class but keeping the actual image class names in line with their object name, i.e. the "skin1" image is the "skin1.as" class).
    Question
         How do I assign these images to the grid cells based on their respective values (ranging from 1 to 9) and have them populate the grid each time I click the "shuffle" button? So for example, in my grid the numbers 1 through 9 randomly appear 12 times each. Every time the number 4 appears in a cell, I want it to be assigned to the image "skin4" (which is just a graphic that looks like a button and has a fancy number "4" printed on it). Below is a chunk of the code I am using to draw the grid cells with:
    // Creates a grid cell when called by generateGrid().
    private funciton drawCell(_numeral:int):Sprite
              This is the code I am currently implementing to populate the grids with (although I
              don't want to use text labels as I want to fill each grid with an image according
              to its numerical value (1 to 9).
         var _label:TextField = new TextField();
         _label.multiline = _label.wordWrap = false;
         _label.autoSize = "center";
         _label.text = String(_numeral);
         // Add numerical label to cell array.
         cellLabels.push(_label);
         var _s:Sprite = new Sprite();
         _s.graphics.lineStyle(2, 0x019000);
         _s.graphics.drawRect(30, 0, cellW, CellH);
         _s.addChild(_label);
         return _s;
         While the following isn't working code, it will hopefully demonstrate what I want to achieve inside this function so I don't have to use the above snippet for text labels:
         //This will "hopefully" create an array of all 9 images by calling their classes.      var _imageArray:Array = [skin1, skin2, skin3, skin4, skin5 , skin6, skin7, skin8, skin9];      // This is what I want to happen for each cell using the above image array:      for (i = 0; i < cells; i++)      {           if (_numeral == 1)           {                // Insert skin1 image for each instance of #1 in the grid.           }           if (_numeral == 2)           {                // Insert skin2 image for each instance of #2 in the grid.           }           ...           if (_numeral == 9)           {                // Insert skin9 image for each instance of #9 in the grid.           }      }
         Again, I don't want to use text labels. I have a custom skin graphic that I want to go over each number on the grid based on its numerical value (1 to 9). Any help with this is much appreciated!

    kglad,
         Thank you for your help with this one. Using the code below, I have successfully populated my grid cells with the desired corresponding graphics. I noticed one thing though regarding my use of the shuffle button with this particular implementation: even though the numerical values residing in each cell get shuffled, the original images remain in the grid rather than being replaced by new ones. The first code snippet below is the revised cell drawing function including your help; the second snippet shows you my simple shuffle button function (where the problem lies, I think).
    Snippet #1:
         // Creates a grid cell when called by generateGrid().
         private function drawCell(_numeral:int):Sprite
              var _label:TextField = new TextField();
              _label.multiline = _label.wordWrap = false;
              _label.autoSize = "center";
              // Creates a label that represents the numerical value of the cell.
              cellLabels.push(_label);
              var _s:Sprite = new Sprite();
              _s.graphics.lineStyle(2, 0x019000);
              _s.graphics.drawRect(30, 0, cellW, cellH);
              // Physically adds the labels to the grid.
              _s.addChild(_label);
              // Assigns a graphic class to a cell based on its numerical value.
              var _classRef:Class = Class(getDefinitionByName("skin" + _numeral));
              // Undefined variable for holding graphic classes.
              var _image:* = new _classRef();
              // Lines the images up with the grid cells.
              _image.x = 30;
              // Physically adds a graphic on top of a cell label.
              _s.addChild(_image);
              return _s;
         So far so good (although I question needing text labels at all if they are just going to remain invisible underneath the images, but enough about that for now). This next part is the reason that the images won't shuffle with the cell values, I think.
    Snippet #2:
         // When shuffleButton is clicked, this event shuffles
         // the number array and fills the cellLabels with the new values.
         private function onButtonShuffleClick(e:MouseEvent):void
              // Shuffles the number array.
              shuffle(numbers);
              // Verifies the array has been shuffled.
              trace("After shuffle:", numbers);
              // Loop replaces old cellLabels with new number array values.
              for (var i:int = 0; i < cells; i++)
                   cellLabels[i].text = String(numbers[i]);
         As you can see, it never replaces the original images that populate the grid. I tried using the _s.removeChild(image) function but that didn't work, nor would copying/pasting some of the code from snippet #1 directly into this function as it would cause another instance of the images to be placed over top of the existing ones rather than actually swapping them out. Any continued help here is greatly appreciated!
         PS Is there a quicker method for posting code into these forums without having to type it all out by hand again (i.e. copy/paste or drag/drop from my .fla or Notepad file directly into this thread)?
