How to view white balance data in iphoto '09

I would like to be able to see the white balance setting metadata for photos in iPhoto '09, but I'm not finding any way to do that.
The "Show Extended Photo Info" doesn't include white balance.
Thanks,
Tracy

  • 6500 classic: how to save "White balance" setting ...

Hello, when I activate the camera, the image looks like filled with blue, so I need to go to camera settings, click "White balance", and select "Daylight" instead of "Automatic" - now the picture will be perfect. But next time when I activate the camera, I should repeat this step again.
How to save "White balance" settings to "Daylight" forever?

    Unfortunately it's not possible.
The setting will only be effective for one session. Once you close the camera application they will revert to default.

  • How to view video Exif data in Bridge

I cannot view video Exif (i.e., camera settings) data in Bridge.  I can see it for still images.  I shoot video in both MOV and MTS, but can see it for neither.  How do I view it?

Thanks.  Is there some equivalent of Exif information for video?  For stills, I shoot RAW and much appreciate being able to veiw the camera settings once the file is in Bridge.  I'm new to video.  It would be even more helpful for me to see the video details, so I can better learn from my practicing.  I can view some video file data in my camera after shooting:  f-stop, white balance method, compression method, aspect ratio, and frame rate.  So, this data is being captured and stored on my memory card.  After downloading to Bridge, I'd like to be able to view this same info there.  Is this possible?

You can't get this info in a contact sheet, neither is it easy to get other then look at the camera setting you have used to shoot the files. Maybe it is somewhere hidden deep down in the exif data but I can't find it with exact numbers.
Shooting Raw those WB figures are irrelevant because you can set color temperature and tint to whatever you like. Shooting jpeg your options are limited because of the fact the Raw data is already processed and changing temperature and tint effects the whole image.
Try shoot a Raw and jpeg together from the same scene. One with daylight and one with artificial light conditions. (personally I have set my WB in camera fixed at 5500 but with auto settings you can also see the difference) Try to correct the jpeg and the Raw file in ACR and see what I mean.
And to be honest, if your instructor at College would like to have this he also should tell you why he wants it and how you can deliver it...

  • How to apply white balance from jpeg to raw version

I always shoot in RAW + jpeg format.  Many times the jpeg will work fine and I still have the RAW if I want to take the time to tweak things a bit more.
But sometimes the jpeg stumbles on a white balance that works well for a particular image.  If I want to apply that same balance to the RAW version, I would like to be able to read what that color balance setting (in K degrees I assume) is so I can copy it.
Is there a way to find that info somewhere?  The exif will only give you the name of the setting (Flash, Auto, Cloudy, whatever...) but not the numerical info needed to apply it in Aperture's White balance adjustment.
    I use a Nikon D600.
Thanks very much for any info!

    OK, progress!
I found out from Iliah Borg on the dpreview.com forum that the utility ExifTool (or its GUI version pyExifToolGUI) will provide the R, B, G1 and G2 values for the white balance setting.  They are provided as multipliers or absolute vaules.  Example:
    WB RB Levels : 1.51953125 1.8515625 1 1
    WB GRBG Levels : 256 389 474 256
Now does anyone know how you can enter these type of numberic values in Aperture?  The standard White Balance brick does not have input fileds for these types.

  • Nikon RAW NEF files have white balance blown out (iPhoto 7.1.4)

I had no problems opening my Nikon D200 RAW NEF files in iPhoto until about a month ago. I think I downloaded a patch for compatibility of camera files? After that when ever I open A raw file, the colors and white balance are blown out.

I was unable to get my images to appear as I shot them. I shoot with a Nikon D80 and shoot with a Vivid setting. Now after shooting a wedding of more than 1500 images I have to find a way to color correct them all. I have attempted the downgrade to the previous version, unsuccessful. I have forwarded on my comments to apple and find that this issue effects tens of thousands of photos. As a MFA student at a major university, and studying color management and workflow, I feel I need to look elsewhere for file management as iPhoto is not able to do the job and the fact that it affects my entire library system of photos... simply unacceptable. I have always found the discussion groups extremely helpful, but this issue has effected so many of us and is such a huge integral part of the photographic process that I need to look to other programs to effectively handle my color management.
    Disappointing.

  • Camileo H20: How to save white balance settings

    Hi,
just got this camcorder and finding my way round with it.
My question is when you change the mode settings to night and change the white balance etc, when you close the screen and the open it again to carry on filming, the mode has gone back to auto and so has the white balance settings.
The other settings stay as how i set them i.e HD or 720 etc. is this right.
Also indoor use under 60w lights is non existent.
    Thanks

    Hello zackwolf,
yes you are right. Some changes like white balance and so on go to default settings automatically, if you close the screen.
Correct - The other settings stay as how you set them i.e HD or 720 etc.
Maybe a new firmware could fix this, but as I know there is no firmware update available at the moment.
    best regards

  • How to copy White Balance settings betweenJPG files

    Hi all,
Due to a stupid mistake I ran half a day in Joshua Tree National Park with my camera set to only save JPGs instead of RAWs... grrrr.
I have relevant WhiBal shots from this period, but I cannot figure out how to set the white balance on the related shots since the temp scale in the Basic section of the develop module only seems to works with a relative -100 to +100 setting instead of the Kelvin scale normally used in the RAWs.
Any ideas on how to "copy" and/or set the white balance in a JPG based on the adjusted value from another JPG?
    Any ideas greatly appreciated!
    Claus.

    Hi John,
    Thanx for the suggestion!
I thought about this and experimented with it. However it seems that when working on JPGs this method just copies any "+nn" adjustment blindly to the target photos without any consideration to differences in the basic color ballance of the target photos.
I guess the problem may basically be that if the JPGs do not have any saved info inside the file on the assumed White Balance in Kelvin used by the in-camera JPG conversion there may be no way to make such a relative adjustment between two JPG files.
So does anybody know whether this info is available in a JPG file converted in cameray? In my case it's a Canon 20d.
    Claus.

  • How can I see shooting data in iphoto

I'm used to being able to view my shooting data in Canon Zoom Browser, but can't find these details in iphoto. I can see some of the info, but not the shooting modes (eg. portrait, auto, sports etc).  I have seen in discussion threads people talking about 'extended info' using the exposure button, but I can't find this either.
    Thanks!

  • How to view AR Due Date onto Report CJIA

    Hello
We are putting in place Project Cash Mngt.
I can view my line items by project in Report CJIA but i can't view any due date.
Besides, i can see data in CJIA but there is nothing at all available in CJIB.
    what do i miss ?
    Thanks
    Stéphane

    Hi Roel,
In Excel, Past_Due logic is as follows:
    *=IF([Target Date]="","",IF(AND([Finish Date]="",[Target Date]<[Sysdate]),[Sysdate]-[Target Date],IF(AND([Finish Date]<>"",[Finish Date]>[Target Date]),[Finish Date]-[Target Date],"")))*
I converted the formula as follows:
    WHEN CASE G = NULL THEN NULL ELSE WHEN CASE (F = NULL AND G < SYSDATE) THEN SYSDATE - G ELSE WHEN CASE (F <> NULL AND F > G) THEN F - G ELSE NULL END
    G: Target Date
    F: Finish Date
The above was added to the interactive report as a computation.
But it seems NULL, AND, <, >, <> are invalid computation expressions.
What then should I do to achieve what I said in the first message?
    Would appreciate your help.
    Thanks,
    Guy

  • Aperture incorrectly reading white balance data from RAW file?

I'm having some problems with both Aperture 1.1.2 and 1.5 importing RAW files from a Nikon D70 and a Canon G6. In both cases, Aperture is not reading the "as shot" white balance correctly.
With the G6, Aperture is always setting a fixed color temperature of 6016K, and a fixed tint of -15, regardless of the image in question. If I read the same image using Adobe Camera Raw, or Lightroom, then it I get the white balance value as set in the camera.
With the D70, it's picking up a different white balance value from the one set in the camera, always one far warmer than it should be, and with a green tint. Again, the Adobe tools get the right value out of the RAW file. With both cameras I have experimented with setting the white balance manually on the camera, and also with the "auto white balance" setting, but it makes no difference to Aperture.
Obviously I can change all of the values manually, but it's very time consuming, and in most cases the in-camera value is pretty close to what I need, so I'd much prefer Aperture to use it.
In any case, I'm worried about the discrepancy between Aperture and Camera Raw on something so basic.
Anybody got any ideas? I'm hoping I'm just doing something silly, as I have only been using Aperture for a couple of weeks, and maybe something is mis-configured.
    Thanks
    HG

In any case, I'm worried about the discrepancy
between Aperture and Camera Raw on something so
    basic.
Sorry I can't help you directly with Aperture as I haven't bought it - yet. However, re-the above quote, I'd just mention that the interpretation of colour temperature values is not quite as simple as it might seem. Even more so when you bear in mind that RAW converters from 3rd parties like Adobe or Apple are not based on the RAW conversion engine produced by the camera manufacturer - in effect they have to guess/estimate what the temp/tint values in the RAW file actually mean...
Some time back I made a series of tests using 3 Canon cameras, with ACR, Capture One & the Canon RAW converter. Each produced noticeably different results, and C1 & ACR showed quite different temp/tint values. (The Canon software only showed 'As Shot' - no values). The differences were consistent between shots from each camera (using WB values input or AWB) - but they weren't consistent from one camera to another. Which program produced the best result depended very much on the Camera/Subject/Personal taste...
Hope someone can help with Aperture specific info, I'm sure there must be a way of making camera specific adjustments to the RAW conversions...

  • How to view forums by date, not "Trending Questions"

I used to be able to view forums by date, now they appear in order of "Trending Questions"  so that a discussion that has been inactive for three months now appears before a discussion from a day ago.
Is there a way to get back to the way it should be (by date), or must I live with this poorly conceived "upgrade?" I searched in my preferences and profile, but can't find a way to change this.

That's completely counter to the ethos behind the forums. Our goal is to build up as many previously-answered questions as possible, so as to reduce the need to ask the same thing over and over (which is immensely annoying for those who have to keep answering it!). In a perfect world, searching via Google, Community Help or the forums tool itself should always bring up an answer to any customer's questions regarding the use of Adobe products.
For info, the current database size in Jive is not an issue in terms of the user experience - the SQL queries run by a typical user/page session execute many times faster than the data itself can be sent across the networks.

"Trending" was taken from Twitter, where it refers to hashtags with high levels of recent use.
The "Trending" pod on the overview page for a discussions space is not identical to the first items in the 'discussions' tab, as it includes activity on the other content panels (documents, ideas, polls, etc.) where those are present. If we sent everyone to the discussions tab, users would never know there's a new document posted (e.g. an FAQ) and would have no way to reach it.

  • How to view Account balance in a TITLE ACCOUNT

I want to know how i can view the account balance(sum of all balances in the child or sub accounts) for a title account in sap b1.

    Hi,
There are lot of Reports available to cater to your requirement unless you need specific data in specific format.
For getting the Account balance for a Title and the sub accounts under it, you can :
    1) Use the 'General Ledger Report' for detailed list with all the transactions appearing in the same.
    2) if you need only balances, you can run the Trial Balance/Balance Sheet Report and get the data.
    3) If you need the data in customized format or any specific data, you can always query the tables (OACT, JDT1 etc)

  • How to view the returned data from a stored procedure in TOAD?

    Hi,
I created ref cursor in the stored procedure to return data. The stored procedure works fine, just want to view the result in TOAD. The BEGIN... EXEC... END can execute the stored procedure, but how to make the result display?
    Thanks!

Right click the editor and choose
    "Prompt For Substitution Variables".
Run for example the following code:
    DECLARE
    PROCEDURE p (cur OUT sys_refcursor)
    AS
    BEGIN
    OPEN cur FOR
    SELECT *
    FROM DUAL;
    END p;
    BEGIN
    p (:cur);
    END;
The result will display in Toad's Data Grid!
