How To View Your Hi-Def Videos On An HDTV For £69 ($99)

When you have edited your video, you can export it as an H.264 movie and put it on a cheap USB 2.0 Hard Drive.
You then plug the HD into the Hi-Def Media Player shown below which in turn is plugged into your HDTV via an HDMI cable.
Then just press the "GO" button and watch your videos in full hi-def.
The media player is tiny and a USB 2.0 HD is small so there should be no problems takng them to the homes of friends and relatives ....... assuming they have HDTVs.
I haven't done it myself yet, but I know a man who has!

I can now confirm that the above tiny device does exactly what it says on the tin, having parted with the requisite £69.
Simply export your HD video to H.264 with a bitrate of 5Mbps and you will get good quality 1920x1080 HD video which you can store on any USB 2.0 device ..... memory stick or hard drive.
Those settings will give 25 minutes of H.264 per gigabyte of storage.
The images are very sharp though there is a slightly greater tendency to strobing on movement. However, most people should not have a problem with that. You can of course encode at different resolutions and bitrates.
The encoding process is quite lengthy being about 6 times the duration of the video on my equipment, but it is certainly a much cheaper alternative to buying Blu-ray burners, players and discs.
Most people tend to view TVs from a distance equal to 3 times the TV's screen diagonal. Under these conditions, HD looks very little better than a good DVD but if you move closer to the screen the improved definition becomes very noticeable.
ComPH1 has told me that this device is well known in the states , so maybe I am preaching to the (already) converted.
