How to wall mount imac 20 inch intel? Any body has tried

The iMac 20" doesn't have a VESA-type mounting bracket on the back (the 24" one does). If you're brave and have the white plastic model, you can try [adapting an old iMac G5 mount kit|http://www.wikiela.com/wiki/Howto_wall_mount_a_Core_2_Duo_Intel_iMac_20_or17].
For other models, you can use the VESA adapter from [www.imacmount.com]. These are adapters that clamp a VESA-style mount bracket to the aluminum pedestal stand for the iMac. You can then attach the iMac (pedestal and all) to any VESA-compatible mount. Here's a picture of an 20" white iMac fastened to a wall using this method (same works for newer aluminum iMacs and the white 17" ones too):

  • How much Memory Should my IMac have?  iMac, 24-inch, Intel Core 2 Duo

Hi, I have a problem. I have a iMac, 24-inch, Intel Core 2 Duo which had to have a hard drive replaced. Brought it home today and it is not the same? It makes weird noises when processing info and it seems to run slower. I noticed that the memory is only 1GB and this model should have 2 or something along those lines? It seems as though they didn't replace this with what I had on my original one? Can anyone help me, let me know how to verify that I am lacking what I had on this machine when I bought it and what should this model have on it? I am so ****** off right now, it isn't funny!
Also, I can't go into my Iphoto and make any of my pictures a desktop image. That leads me to believe it is a low memory issue. Right?

What imac do you have how old is it. The 2.4ghz 20inch model still comes with 1gb as standard in the uk anyway. most intel imac including mine are totally silent, is it overheating download a great widget called istat pro at http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/status/istatpro.html this will show you your fan and temp etc. If it in warranty then take it back to apple or phone them with the machine serial number and they will inform you to what spec the imac was shipped to you. The desktop image problem - go-to system preferences then to desktop and screen saver you will find all your iphoto folder and events in the right hand side just click on your image this should work.

    Hi Enialreve,
Thanks for posting and welcome to the Lenovo Community,
I’d like to help you with the issue that you’re facing and I need to confirm you that all the steps that you’ve done is absolutely correct,
And as I can see that you’ve followed all the steps that we can do inside the operating system,
And I’d like to advise you that we can try to perform a recovery to get the machine back to the initial state and am sorry to ask you to take a backup from the data you need as the recovery will get the machine back as a new machine and all the Data on C: partition will be lost,
Kindly turn off the machine and connect the charger and the battery and then press on the One key recovery button which is the small one with the curve arrow,
And then the system will be booting to the recovery,
For more information about the recovery check the below link:

  • How to upgrade my iMac 27-inch Mid 2010 for video editing?

Hi there, I have an iMac 27-inch, Mid 2010 1TB that I would like to upgrade to work well with film editing (using programs like Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.)
    My System's specs:
    iMac 27 Inch Mid-2010
    - 3.2 GHz Intel Core i3
    - 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
    - ATI Radeon HD 5670 512 MB
    - Last 4 Digits of the Serial Number is JDNP
I'm quite unfamiliar with upgrading an iMac and was hoping I could find some help here regarding what is possible to upgrade on my system?  I understand that installing RAM is quite easy, but is it possible to upgrade the Processor and Graphics Card?  And what about Installing a bigger hard drive or SSD?  Also, where do I take my iMac to get these upgrades?  Apple Store?  Hopefully I'm not sounding like a complete idiot here.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you are not computer savvy and have never upgraded a computer before, then you need to see what Apple can do for you, but it maybe better to take your Mac to a third party Apple authorised reseller/repair center as they will be more likely to do actual modifications to your Mac. Apple stores tend to only stick with installing stock OEM Apple hardware.
The CPU cannot be replaced or upgraded or replaced as I believe it is soldered to the logic board.
The GPU maybe able to be upgraded, but the only other GPU option that it can be replaced with is the the 1 GB VRAM GPU version that was a GPU chip model available during the 2010 iMac model year.
This will be hard to locate and, probably, very expensive to purchase (at least $300 U.S.D..).
A third party Mac compatible SSD should be able to be installed, but will be expensive, too!
Get as large an SSD as you can afford to purchase and pay for the installation.
If you stick with a traditional hard drive, your Mac can take up to a 3 TB hard drive.
You CAN install additional RAM yourself. However your Mac year and model will only take a total of 16 GBs of RAM.
Correct, compatible and reliable Mac RAM can ONLY be purchased from online RAM sources Crucial memory or OWC (http://www.macsales.com).

  • HT1338 How much is a iMac 20-inch widescreen computer 2007 going for now of days?

So I am going to try to sell my iMac 20-inch widescreen computer from 2007, and I am trying to use that money to buy a MacBook Air before August 14th and I was just wondering how much I should sell it for.

As a buyer of a used computer, I value installed software at zero, since I already have the apps I want. An erase-and-install on a used computer is sensible anyway, to get a clean system.
On the other hand, I value Applecare on a used computer at at least half of the cost of the coverage, and the third year of warranty is the most valuable one!

  • How to check My iMac 27 inch new or used or refurblished?

    Hi, I am Pete.
Long time being Apple Fan. I am usually buy Apple product from online and iStudio Reseller near my home. As the way of using apple product, I never claim or learn about checking product because of loyalty and trust. Today, I really hard to sleep because my new 27 inch iMac will be arrive soon in shop which I ordered and I really worry about hardware. The question is ......
    1. I don't know, 'Is it new?'
    2. How do I check before get it back?
    3. What is meaning of 'REFURBLISH IMAC' and how do I know?
    4. The manager of the shop said, 'we can't check anything about your mac except for serial number warantee only? which is registered or not?'
    5. One more question, if it show up on screen for dead pixel how many dots/points to show for claiming?
I look forward to see your reply before I get iMac tomorrow anyway.
    Thanks,
    Pete

It doesn't matter. Apple treats both as a new machine, so stop worrying. FWIW, ensure you get the AppleCare Protection Plan. It's the best warranty policy available for desktop machines. That gives you three years of protection. Just make sure that you register your machine and the protection plan.

  • What would be my max for RAM? iMac 24 inch Intel

    Hi,
Thinking about upgrading my RAM, but for some reason think I maxed it out when I bought it (2007/8) with 4GB. Am I right in think that this can only be at 4GB or can I add more to it? it says it is an iMac7,1 intel core 2 duo. Also, is there a place on the Apple site or even my own computer that could tell me what the max is?
    Thanks for any help.
    -Brian

    Hi Brian
    The Apple Spec's say 4GB
    http://support.apple.com/kb/SP16
However OWC has tested the iMac 7,1 up to 6GB

  • How to make my iMac boot directly to Mac, instead of trying to boot to Windows?

I tried to install Windows 7 with BootCamp yesterday but something didn't work well and I canceled. I deleted the (already made) partition and I thought that everything is fine. I got my missing GBs back but today as I turned on my iMac i was expecting to see it boot into Mac, instead it said "Trying to boot from disk - no disk ...(something..)" Then I restarted the iMac, held the "alt" key and 2 things showed up. One was Mac OS X Mountain Lion and the other was "Recovery 10.8..."
How can I make my Mac boot into the Mac OS X instead of trying to boot into the Windows that I thought i deleted?

In System Preferences>Startup Disk, what is available and what is selected?

  • Trial Version of elements 13 running on latest IMac 27 inch.  Move the mouse and it is time out.  Doesn't matter where on the window the mouse is. The program does not respond quickly at all. Takes ages to do anything with it.  Any suggestions?

I am running a trial version of Elements 13 on the latest IMac 27 inch.  Any move of the mouse and it is time out.  Doesn't matter if the mouse is trying to do an edit or just moving across the window.  The program does not respond very well at all.  I am wondering now if I should bother purchasing the program.

How much ram do you have? Did you recently import a bunch of photos into the organizer? PSE will be slow till it's through cataloguing them, which can take some time for large number of images.

  • Kernel panic - iMac 17 inch

Hello and thanks for taking the time to read this.
I am suffering kernel panic. I leave my iMac 17 inch Intel on all day, I come home, I have the black screen and the light on constantly and bright in the bottom right hand corner. However, when I jiggle the mouse or hit a key, nothing happens. So, I turn it off, it comes up with a you shut down unexpectedly and sometimes it says it want to shut down again (the multi0-lingual dialogue box). For some reason, it appears to be an afternoon issue. I can leave it on all night with no problem but if I leave it on all day it seems to occur late afternoon. Sometimes, I don't get the afternoon black screen but after working on it for ten minutes the dreaded black box and message comes up again and I have to reboot - sometimes twice.
Mac support in Australia has been patient and good and taken me through all of the resets. I am trying one last thing and that is creating a new user account and leaving it on all day to see if it is a software problem in my account.
However, I would be interested in any views that anyone has.
    Thanks,
    Andrew
    Sydney, Australia

    Andrew --
    That's very serious.
They are Kernel Panics, which you will read about in the Xlab's link.
You need to address these ASAP.
IMHO, the usual culprits are peripherals or bad RAM.
It could be software, but more likely not.
Do follow the link Steve has given you
and run through all the steps.

  • IMac 20 inch rejects DVDs

When I insert DVD's into my iMac Intel 20 inch, it almost always spits out the DVD after a few tries. Audio CDs work fine.
iMac 20 inch Intel   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   Standard configuration

You can read this article about DVD regions:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60183
Your drive may have been set to another region, and
may not be letting you change your region for some
reason. That could be why your iMac is rejecting the
    DVD's.
Does anyone but me see the following as a potential problem (from the Apple doc you referenced):
"In Mac OS X 10.3 Panther and later, users with administrative privileges aren't prompted to change the region the very first time a DVD-Video disc of a single region is inserted. Instead, the region of the DVD drive is automatically set to the region of the DVD disc that was inserted."
