I HAVE A 4X 2.5 GHZ POWERPC G5
WITH 2 GB OF SDRAM.
HOW DO I WATCH HD CONTENT ON MY MAC?
if I need to get an adapter which should I get?

I think there are 2 solutions on the market, EyeTv 500, and Miglia TVMini HD, both of which accept the coax cable from your cable provider.

The Apple displays only accept DVI input. So even if you get an adapter to make the cables plug together, it won't work. There is a $300 VGA to DVI converter (as oppsed to just a simple adapter) that might work though.

I know that many of you guys might tell me that this question is stupid or that it is impossible to do it but i run in to problems that usually the company that made the product can't asnwer it all the time. So here it is. I have the mid 2009 MBP 17 in. 2.8ghz Core 2 duo. I've been using a minidisplay to VGA cable to connect to a sony briva tv since i've had it. and most time i'd have to plug in the 3.5mm jack to get the audio working. but once just once my mac decided to give all the audio control over to the TV without the auxilary cable plugged in. See, i accidentally pressed play and i started to hear sounds. but it wasnt from my mac. and the volume was completely up to the control of the tv. it was weird yet convinent, but as i was checking the connection to see what the **** i did, i took it out of clam mode which swithch my resolution and reconnect the display with the sound having to go through the auxilary again. So if any of you have had this luck and know how to do it please help me out.

If I understand you correctly, I have the same configuration. My modem supports Internet and phone service and my television service bypasses the modem. It does not do any routing. It has a single Ethernet port and I plugged in an external router with a WiFi radio - Apple Airport Express. Works like a champ.
Configuration of the Express was difficult. I had to plug it in to AC power and to the modem. Then, I opened up Airport Utility and had to click "yes" for each recommendation. Then I had to really think hard to come up with a WiFi password. Took me a horrendous thirty seconds from start to finish!

Your monitor shouldn't have anything to have with USB, but yes mac mini as 2 USB 2.0 ports, but you can't use them for monitors, infact you can't even plug in a keyboard and mouse unless you do it by USB so mouse and keyboard i think goes there, unless of course you get a splitter for USB 2.0, then you can plug in the mouse and keybord and the other accessories (external Hard Drive, Webcam, etc.)

Hi I can watch downloaded videos on my apple tv that have been downloaded onto my iPhone 4s but can I watch sky go or any app that displays video? I can only get the sound working atm. I know there has been an update that mirrors my iPhone but I haven't got it to work yet.

Using 30" Apple Display as a TV monitor

I want to know if I can repalce my old TV for a 30" Apple display, so that I can use it both as a computer monitor and as a TV monitor. Specifically can I connect it to a digital cable service. Will I be able to see HDTV ? If this is possible, how do I do it?

Basically by connecting it to a mac of some description you would be able to use it as a computer monitor, have something fairly similar to tv in front row and with the aid of an eye tv receiver or similar you could watch and record various anologue and digital tv stations.
The problems you are up against is that the 30" display requires a dual DVI output (that's dual in one connecter not two single DVI outputs) I don't think the mac mini is up to it and as far as I know desktops don't do front row, which leaves you with top end laptops.
If you don't already have a computer for the job, it would be far cheaper to go for a new HD TV and tv than a computer just so you can utilise your monitor.

Well I have been putting off getting a 30" since they came out due to fears of dead pixels, dancing pixels, and etc.
Well I had to write in because I must say that this new 30" is THE BEST APPLE DISPLAY I HAVE EVER BOUGHT!
I have owned every LCD by apple and with the exception of the old clear sided 15", EVERY ONE had a dead or stuck pixel (or 2) or bad bleeding.
Knock on wood, this monster has not a single flaw! Coupled with the fact (which I didnt know till I purchased) that you can buy Apple Care for just the screen, its an amazing value!

Unfortunately, everything now seems a bit, well, miniature. That's somewhat of an exaggeration, but pages on the internet are smaller than they should be. Even the hard drive icon is rather smallish, and the dock, which has always stretched across the bottom of the display only covers about 3/4 of the real estate down there. Any ideas about how to fix that? I've looked at System Preferences>Appearances, but no luck. I even checked out Universal Access, but that wasn't the answer. Thanks in advance for your help.

You should certainly be able to add content by reference to itunes from such a disk (even before the update) - so long as itunes knows the location of the file (set Preferences not to copy to local library when adding the media) it will stream it to AppleTV if the disk is available.
I hope you're right, but I'd be surprised if current Extremes can be upgarded to provide a full Home Sharing service - marvellous if they can but I'd be surprised as i've long said we need an Apple media server either based on TC or AE to do this kind of thing.
