The "restore disk" is built into the Mac. See About Recovery.
Need more specifics about what error messages you got while installing Adobe Flash.
However, you can almost avoid Flash altogether by setting YouTube to play the HTML5 version instead.
Click the Try something new! link at the bottom of the YouTube page.
I don't know about the sound issue. Might be hardware as you think. Try other headphones to check.

How do I download off the internet without it going to textedit?

When I try to download off the internet it opens it with textedit, I know how to change what it opens with but I don't know what to change it to.

For whichever file type you are trying to download (.SIT, .MOV, .DMG) usually the software that is designed to handle that file type (which needs to be previously installed) will automatically open. It sounds like you are downloading a file type that you have no app installed to actually open.
As the post before mine replied, we would need to know the file type/extension to better answer your problem.

How do I turn off the internet so it doesn't drain my battery?

Is there a way to turn off the internet? I do not mean disconnect from wifi but actually stop the phone from running the internet. It seems like when you just push the home button it is still running. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

I want to export my 'Notes' from my iPhone to my MacBook, without the Notes being forwarded to my online/web email account (eg. Gmail, Yahoo). I want to keep the Notes off the internet. Is this possible? Any help?

Notes can be synced direct with the Mail app notes feature with OS X, and with the new seperate Notes app available with the new Mountain Lion (10.8) OS X version released yesterday.

Hey everyone,
I've been using this MacBook for quite some time, over a year I'd say.. But after I managed to tinker with the video driver AND have it reinstalled because I failed miserably, I stand at a problem that is quite annoying itself.
You know those flash videos? Like the tutorials here at apple.com? So the thing is that every now and then there is a white flash of the video when it plays. Now this occurs somewhat once every 1-2 seconds, and it is really, really annoying.
My other problem is that if the video (say, an HD video) is not at the edge of the screen (like the top of the video touches the lowest part of the bookmarks tab) than it seems like a bit washed out of colours.. not much, but noticable.
I'm using Firefox 3 by the way. Do you think that switching to another browser would solve my problem? Or is there a driver you'd recommend? (note: I will NOT install anything that tinkers with system stuff if its not made by Apple.)

Never hack your system unless your prepared to do an erase install if something goes wrong or have restorable image to install.

Videos at apple.com are quicktime movies not flash movies.

The driver I would recommend you use is the one that came with leopard.
But as you say you have reinstalled that driver and you are getting the same results you may have done more damage to your system than you realise when you tinkered with it.
I would suggest reinstalling your system using the erase install option. If your system still shows anomalies when playing video and any other screen anomalies then run the hardware test that came with your mac to check out the integrated video of the logic board.

I get the video going and it looks like it automatically says it is downloading two files. After clicking around a few times on some things I may have as many as five copies running at once. I am just trying to save the video to a file so that I can burn it to a DVD later.

most likely the video you are trying to watch is using flash and flash is not supported on the ipad.
the browser will make no difference. best thing is to write to the site ctv.ca suggesting they offer a html5 version of their site for the millions of ipad users around the world.

Your videos are probably not in a format that the N80 can handle. The supported video formats are listed here:

They are 3GPP formats (H.263), H.264/AVC, MPEG-4, RealVideo 7,8,9/10 and with a link to more info here:

So, find a converter that can generate/save the video files in one or the other of the supported formats.
One such converter is eRightSoft SUPER from http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER (they have a very convoluted process in getting to the actual download through their pages).

Youtube works on Blackberry, tested and proofed.

Sounds like the wifi isn't processing the data fast enough for video streaming. Have you tried resetting your wifi hub ? Switch it off for a couple of minutes and then restart it. See if that makes any difference.

What kind of videos are you watching?
You need to force quit Safari, but hitting Command-option-esc, and force quit Safari.
