How to Watch VOD on an iPad

I recently purchased the new iPad, downloaded the various Verizon apps (Verizon Fios, Media Manager, Fios Mobile) and can't seem to stream a movie to it. When I select a movie, all I can do is "Bookmark this title for quick access on your TV or computer". There is no way to watch it and I can't seem to locate any instructions telling exactly how to do it either.
Can anyone sum up what I need to do or direct me to them?

try going to verizon.com/fiostvonline and logging in.
select a title and see if it will do the instant streaming through the browser.
Also with the APPS - I believe you have to log in, so if you haven't logged in while in the APP then try doing that. The app's only let you watch things that you have purchased though, from what I understand. I don't think those apps do the Free VOD stuff.

You can't download directly to an iPad.
You have to download on a PC and sync through iTunes.
They have to comply with these specs:

Movies and TV Shows (after being downloaded) are available in the Videos app.

If you follow the naming convention (all files must be in a folder named DCIM and have an 8 character file name, such as it comes from a camera, DSC_4832.mp4 ) then you can import them from an SD card.
While most USB's trigger the 'requires too much power' warning - I had a bunch of flash drives one time, and 7 of the 14 I tried kicked the error and there was no singular size or brand that consistently worked, I have yet to find a SD card that triggers the error.
So if someone records the video on their digital camera (many digital cameras use SD cards) and you use the SD camera adapter then it should be easier to import them. The other catch is that you can't preview what's on the card, you have to import it to view it.
I would try it with the SD adapter first. You at least remove the hurdle of incompatible flash drives.

Nope, no fix coming because it isn't broken. Works that way by design. What version of iOS are you running on the iPhone? Music videos were moved to the Video app some time ago, even for iPhone.

How can I delete the list of watched videos on my iPad?

I have been watching videos on my ipad through the iTunes "home sharing" feature. It seems to work fine.
My problem is that I can't figure out how to delete the list (on the iPad) of videos that have been watched. Not only have I watched them but I have also deleted them from my iTunes movies list. I have tried syncing, signing out and back in to the iTunes store, turning off home sharing and then turning it back on again (which requires signing back in), all the while quitting out of the videos app and /or restarting the iPad before and after each of these steps.
The videos are shown as greyed-out icon/thumbnails in the iPad videos app. I am able to add new videos to iTunes, see them as not-greyed-out icons in the iPad app, and watch them. I just can't delete the shown list of the watched videos list on the iPad, which in the case of TV shows collect quite quickly and require lots of scrolling to get to the unwatched video icons.

Yes, so...
I have also closed iTunes, reset network settings on the iPad, then shut down and restarted the iPad. Still, I end up with greyed out rectangular icons for all the movies I've ever streamed from my Mac Mini to my ipad via my home wireless router.
Again, I have watched all the way to the end of the movie, selcted the movie in iTunes and chosen "mark as watched", and then deleted it in ITunes.
Any ideas?

If they are in a suitable format then you should be able to add them to your computer's iTunes via File > Add To Library. You can then try syncing them by connecting your iPad and selecting it on the left-hand sidebar of iTunes, and on the Movies tab on the right-hand side of iTunes selecting them and seeing if they sync over to the iPad's Videos app - if you get a 'not supported' message when trying to sync them then try doing File > Create New Version > Create iPad Version (Advanced > Create iPad Version if you aren't on iTunes 11) and see if those versions then sync over.
If you want to copy them into a third-party videos app then how you do so will depend upon what the app supports e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via your wifi network etc.
