How to wear a watch w/o scratching PB?!

I haven't worn a watch for at least ten years...until today. Of course the first thing I noticed when I started to type was the "skreech skreech" of my new watch band scraping against the PB.
I know 99.9% of y'all are watch wearers, so I'm hoping there is a solution out there. (Taking the watch on and off all day is not an option!) Right now I have a piece of fabric folded up covering the left side next to the trackpad, but I look like a kook

Ian -- I tried switching wrists but unfortunately this just make the problem appear on the right side of the PB.
tekmoe -- It's ironic that you, a Texan, stopped wearing a watch after getting the PB. Like you, I never used to take my watch off, either. That is, until I moved to Houston ten years ago. The pace was so much slower than L.A., it felt liberating. And even though I only lived there a year, I never put the watch back on. I will consider your advice, and put the watch on when I'm away from home. (Who am I kidding? I'll never remember to put it on if I take it off!)
Greg -- Unfortunately, my watch style is a link style, so there is no switching the band. However, a rubber and plastic watch is a great option. I will see if I can find a women's style....
PRAVDA -- In SoCal the weather is not so much a factor. The funny thing is that as I was reading your post I was breaking in a new sweatshirt and immediately noticed the problem went away. Oh, and since I'm a girl, I wear very few dress shirts
Let's just hope this is the biggest dilemma I face for the rest of the year

I bought my Apple TV on Saturday, March 8, 2014. When I tried to update my settings (region, etc), I was able to select the appropriate settings, but the settings did not stay selected after saved. I was not able to watch ABC on my Apple TV. I reside in the US and an error message appeared stating I am outside the US. I set my Time Zone to NYC, Language to English and my Region to US however the United Nations Flag appears in both of these settings. I returned the Apple TV on Sunday, March 9, 2014 and exchanged it for a new unit. I again selected the appropriate settings and the same error message appears on the new unit. I called Apple Support and was instructed to update with the new version for today, Monday, March 10, 2014. I have updated the most recent software and there is no change in the Region Flag and ability to watch ABC. I will call Apple support tomorrow morning but probably taking the second unit back. Not happy!

I understand that it might not be able to do some of the more technical things like keep track of my pulse etc. However if it doesn't have the facility to be worn as a fob with a specific mount it's not going to be any use to lots of people. It seems like the most natural way to do that would be with database triggers, if your DB allows its triggers to interact with the world outside the DB--e.g. invoking Java code, invoking some other process, opening a socket, etc.

There is no way to keep the display on permanently, as doing so would significantly reduce the overall life of the battery. It would maybe last only hour, maybe not even.
As for having your iPod wake up to the watch view, head to Settings -> General -> Time on Wake -> On.

Sorry, but you can't. From the FAQ:
If you download a rented movie on your iPhone 4 or later, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV: It is not transferable to any other device or computer.
If I read the FAQ correctly, the reverse is also true, unless your Apple TV is a first-gen unit.

the headphones part(after the mice) is so long and that of mice is small.
and if i wear that IN the shirt, then a big part of headphone wire is remained outside. and when i clip the controller(mice) then i feel that it is on opposite side. coz the wire is on the same side of buttons(opposite side of clip).
so i have to take a round to get back wire into the shirt.
is there any solution?

hello,
my 4s was in os6 and when os7 first released, i have updated it. during update from os6 to os7 after 98% my wifi got disconnected and then phone automatically restarted. since then my back camera is not working. front on is working perfectly. after that i reinstall os7 properly following step by step procedure but no positive result came out.
then i tried to change the camera with a new one but still with new camera the problem is same. then they used my camera in some other 4s and it is working fine. now i dont know what to do.
right now using os7.1.2
please advise.

How to create a Watch List using JSF

I'd like to build a HTML UI which includes the toggling of items from a watch list. For example, stocks or system alerts which are important to the user. First of all are there any JSF example which demonstrate this type of application? What is the best approach for building such an interface so that individual lines can be added and removed from the watch list and the view mode can be toggled from watch list only items to all items?
I've looked at the data repeater component example and tried to make that work for this purpose but I'm struggling with some of the details and wondering if the approach taken is good or if there is a better approach. Basically what I have is a List of line items held in a managed bean class. This List is associated to my repeater's value tag. The managed bean also has a UIData element and a UISelectBoolean with the former associated to the repeater's binding and the latter associated to a invisible selectboolean_checkbox (rendered="false").
As the user presses an "Add" watchlist button with an action of toggleWatch the UISelectedBoolean.setSelected (onWatchList) is toggled between true and false for the current UIData.getRowIndex(). However, in tracing the code with a debugger, I see as the component tree is rendered that suddenly all UIData rows appear to have their onWatchList.isSelected() toggled to the new value.
Additionally, when I toggle between the view modes of show watchlist and show all my method to determine what gets rendered doesn't appear to have any effect. This is, when pressing the Show Watch button, the viewType is set to "watch" and then a setRendered method is called to setRendered() for each UIData row as follows. Again, this appears to have no effect.

Am I making this too hard or am I just missing something minor???

Upon further debugging it looks like the current issues may be caused by only one onWatchList (UISelectBoolean) existing instead of one for each row in the UIData group. So, what builds the association here? In the RepeaterBean example class the checked UISelectBoolean is simply declared as a instance variable but is never associated to the UIData. How are these glued together?
Of course, I'm still wondering if the is a much better / easier way to get the same results...

How easily can the MacBook Pro be scratched with another aluminium product?

I have a MacBook Pro 15' and an iPad 2 with a Smart Cover. Every now and then, if I carry both in my hands, I stack the iPad on top of the MacBook Pro. I will hear a sound of metal VS metal and I have figured what it was. The hinge of the Smart Cover was rubbing against my MBP. I was wondering, can the 2 scratch each other? I have noticed wear on the metal Smart Cover hinges, and was wondering if the same thing could happen to my MBP.

Aluminum, while flexible and lightweight, is a very soft metal. Apple was very careful with engineering the MBP to round the edges and make the shell as damage proof as possible. Still, with a little bit of hand pressure, you can cut into aluminum with an everyday table knife. That should tell you something.
