Hi Mallory,
Did you get any bounce back message when sending mail to Microsoft ?
I recommend you send a message to
[email protected] and include your ip address 212.129.50.221.
The Microsoft Online Services Technical Support will help you to remove your ip from black list.

  • A very simple question: how to obtain the mail server name?

In our JSP application, at one point an email will be sent to notify one event. Currently, that is done by using the html tag: mailto. To have more control on the email in tems of context format (a bad layout right now) and others. I would like to have it processed at servlet by using the JavaMail API, so that it have a nice format and have the sender's email address right in case email client is not installed in the machine where the browser in. The JavaMail API is straight forward. The question is how to obtain the mail server name, and the sender's email address if there is one?
    Thanks.
    v.

How to obtain the mail server's name? It's your server, you should know its name. Or if it isn't your server, you should ask the administrator for its name. Point is, you need to decide in advance what server you are going to use and hard-code its name into the program or into a properties file.
And how to obtain the client's e-mail address? You have to ask the client, probably by putting a box in the HTML and asking them to type it.

  • How do you setup mail server

i need help on how to setup my mail server for my company.  i just dont know how and i have a domain setup please please help me
    thanks,
CEO Jared Longston   (sorry for being unprofessional in this message)

    IT's a fairly straight-forward process:
    Install Server app from AppStore.
    Install Server Admin Tools 10.7.
Turn Email services on in Server app.
Configure Email service specifics in Server Admin.
The following resources should help you with the specifics:
    https://help.apple.com/advancedserveradmin/mac/10.7/
    http://www.maclife.com/article/howtos/how_install_and_set_mac_os_x_lion_server
Hope this helps a little. Sorry that I didn't get more into specifics, but your question is quite broad.

  • Trouble Whitelisting E-mail Server IP

In the hopes of attracting Verizon problem-solvers, I'm posting here as a Verizon customer and owner of a small business.  I own my own business domain, but my e-mail server is owned by a parent company and all outgoing e-mail goes through that company's e-mail server.
All of my outgoing business e-mail to Verizon addresses suddenly started to get blocked today by Verizon anti-spam.  I listed my e-mail provider's IP of the e-mail server, following Verizon's suggestion to submit it for whitelisting.  Twice it was rejected with the following reply:
After investigation, Verizon Online Security has determined that e-mail from your IP address will not be allowed access to the Verizon Online e-mail domain due to one or more of the following reasons:
Your IP has been blocked because of spam issues or because your ISP indicates that it is dynamically assigned.
So far as I know, the IP is static.  Also, the IP is not blacklisted (verified this at http://whatismyipaddress.com/blacklist-check).
My e-mail host threw up its hands, staing that my 'clients' should pick a different e-mail provider, i.e., not Verizon.  Uh, no.  Any ideas about getting on Verizon's WhiteList?
    Thanks.

Since you are syncing with iCloud why don't you try to delete the Gmail account and try to send your mac mail. If mail goes through okay once the Gmail is gone then you can add Gmail back and all of your mail will also come back. See if that works for you.

  • Unable to whitelist our mail server IP

    Hi,
I hope Verizon Support staff will see this message as it is practically our last resort.
Ever since we upgraded our dedicated server used as both web and mail server for the domain kraisoft.com (which inflicted IP address change) all emails sent out from this server to Verizon customers are being rejected with the following bounce message:
host relay.verizon.net[206.46.232.11] refused to talk to me:
571 Email from 69.64.78.50 is currently blocked by Verizon Online's anti-spam system. The email sender or Email Service Provider may visit http://www.verizon.net/whitelist and request removal of the block. 150330
Any attempts to whitelist our server using the above-mentioned form end up within several minutes with seemingy automatic (judging by its uselessness and the time taken to investigate) reply:
Your IP has been blocked because of spam issues or because your ISP indicates that it is dynamically assigned
No Reverse Hostname associated with your IP address.
Once you have addressed any security-related issues on your network, you should contact Verizon Online Security via this form.
    Sincerely,
    Verizon Online Security
Any attempts to reply to this message, or use "this form", or email [email protected] quoted in the message end in complete and total silence.
Needless to say the IP adress in question - 69.64.78.50 -
    1. Does not have any spam issues as it is a freshly assigned IP address for a new dedicated server built a couple of weeks ago (with your rejection started from the day one). The Postfix mailer on the server is configured properly, not an open relay, isn't listed in any of the 100 common blacklists, uses SSL client connections, has SPF records, signs email using DKIM etc.
    2. Isn't by any means a dynamic IP. It is a static IP, one of the 4 assigned to the server by the hoster.
    3. ANY available tool (online or command-line) will show within seconds that  a proper reverse hostname kraisoft.com is assosiated with the IP address in question 69.64.78.50 so the reply is obviously irrelevant.
This is getting extremely frustrating and we'd be very, very grateful if this issue could be escalated to someone who can provide some additional info or resolve the issue.
    Thank you.

Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you.

  • Unable to whitelist my mail server

I am a Verizon customer for both FIOS and wireless, but this post is not really related to either service.
The problem is that my company's email server seems to have been blacklisted by Verizon, so we can't send mail to Verizon customers. All mail is returned with this message:
571 Email from XXX.XXX.XX.XXX is currently blocked by Verizon Online's
anti-spam system. The email sender or Email Service Provider may visit
http://www.verizon.net/whitelist and request removal of the block. 150404
Unfortunately, the whitelisting process offered at the link supplied results in an endless loop. All it produces is an auto-response that says:
After investigation, Verizon Online Security has determined that e-mail from your IP address will not be allowed access to the Verizon Online e-mail domain due to one or more of the following reasons:
Your IP has been blocked because of spam issues or because your ISP indicates that it is dynamically assigned
No Reverse Hostname associated with your IP address.
Once you have addressed any security-related issues on your network, you should  contact Verizon Online Security via this form. At that time, we will work with you to restore normal e-mail traffic or to take other action as we deem appropriate.
Note that there is no other way to contact Verizon Online Security to follow up beyond this, so all you can do is submit the same form again. Also note that the autoresponse comes very quickly after submitting the form, so obviously there is no "investigation" going on whatsoever.
The truth is that neither of the stated reasons in the form mail above are even remotely true or accurate. Our server does not have a dynamically assigned IP address, and it does have a properly configured reverse host name. We have done a full security audit of our server, and there are no spam issues whatsoever. We've been in business for over 10 years, our server passes all security and RBL tests, and there is no reason that I can see to suddenly blacklist our mail server.
Reviewing similar posts in this forum tells me that this is a common problem that has been going on for years, but I can't find any actual solution posted anywhere. Is there any way to escalate this case to someone who can actually help me get it sorted out? This is really frustrating.
    Thanks in advance....

  • Setting up a mail server IMAP + SMTP with an external DNS

    Hi guys,
I'm not sure if i will be 100% clear in this message because i've got a slight pain in the head because i've been trying to get a mail server running in Tiger Server the entire evening.
So here's my problem: The server i'm administrating needs to gain a mail server. For the first time in my life i have to set one up and i'm not to happy about it. I've tried to follow everything in the manual but it isn't working at all.
This is my server situation: Domain registered by a friend points to DNS server of my ISP which creates all the Entries which all point to my server in the datacenter. On that server i need to get an IMAP + SMTP server running.
I've tried everything and I even got the IMAP part working at one time (people could send emails to a temp. account on the server) but after altering the setting so i could send email everything went wrong. No receiving or sending.
    Please help me out!
Thanks in advance and please don't tell me to read the manual because i have and it isn't working.
    greetings Abram

    Thanks for you help!
    Here you go:
    Terminal:
    command_directory = /usr/sbin

    inet_interfaces = all
    mail_owner = postfix

another question to keep in mind: the domain that it should be linked to at this moment (test) is another domain then the final domain i wish to use.
    The current domain is: sleekmac.com
This domain has another setup then the final domain
The final domain works like this:
Bought by friend ---> points to ISPs datacenter --> points to server
The current domain works like this
Bought by me ---> dns is hosted by the party where i bought the domain ---> points to server
These are my dns inputs concerning mail for the current domain:
    @ - A (Host Record) - 193.26.1.120
    mail - A (Host Record) - 193.26.1.120
    @ - MX (Mail Exchange Record) mail.sleekmac.com.[21]
the [21] was an autoprefix by my host.
Thanks for your help so far,

  • What is the best mail server software, compatible with G5 and OS X 10.5.8?

    Hello.
    I want to install/set up a mailserver on Mac OS X 10.5.8.
It will host approximately 35users, should have pop, imap, spam protection, webmail/admin interface, routing feature, all the usual stuff, I'm doing this because we often have to recieve very large files and having a mailserver on local network makes working with them so much faster. What would you recommend?
    Thanks in advance.

There isn't enough data in your post to create an informed answer.
For one, are you talking Mac OS X client, or Server?
Mac OS X Server already includes all the various mail server components you talk about, and it's based on Postfix, one of the most popular open source mail servers around.
Secondly, having your own mail server will only be 'so much faster' for local users sending/receiving local mail (i.e. from users on the same network). Every other email has to go out (or come in) over your office internet connection and having your own mail server doesn't change that one bit.
At that point, if you're only talking local users, it sounds like what you want is a file server, not a mail server. Mail is not designed for large file transfers.
Third, even if you don't want Mac OS X Server's solution, and you can deal with the bandwidth, you haven't mentioned cost - what's your budget here. You won't find a free/open source solution that's more complete and easier to use than Apple's bundle, so now you're into the commerical offerings. All of them charge, typically per user and some of them (as already mentioned) are mothballing their PPC support, meaning any invenstment in their option might be short-lived.
So I think you need to better state your goals and ideals before you can find the 'best' solution (if any of them are really 'better' than any other).

  • Best e-mail server to use with iPhone and Mac?

I've always used hotmail as my e-mail server.  Recently, I've started using the Mail app on my MacBook Pro instead.  I really hate that the mail on my iPhone and the mail on my Mac do not sync with one another.  Any suggestions??

should I forward any emails I would like to keep to my gmail account or is there a faster way of doing this?

  • How can i use Mail on 2 macs with the same mail address?

    Hi,
I have two Macs, connected through WLAN. From each Mac I can use Mail (sending and receiving) with the same mail address. This worked well; on each Mac I have separate files storing the mails (input, sent, trash, …).
Some days ago I had to change the provider. (Perhaps this may be the reason for my problem?) Now both mail systems are connected - in the way that if I put on Mac *1 a mail into the trash it is automatically thrown into the trash on Mac *2.
What is to be done to separate the two systems (i. e. make them independent of each other)?
    Hans

It looks like you are using a IMAP mail account, a protocol used by most email providers nowadays. Read -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_Message_Access_Protocol
The main feature of IMAP is the sync of all the changes you do on your mail account. If you want to keep your mails on one Mac, have a look at this site -> http://kb.mit.edu/confluence/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=3908294

Internal number range with alpha numerics is possible.
In sap standard it is NUMERIC only. No other option.
You    can maintan alpha numeric in external number ranges.
