  • How to wipe a MacBook Pro prior to resale?

I replaced my early 2008 MacBook Pro with a 2012 MBP retina several months ago.  Now that I'm satisfied all my data successfully moved over, I'm ready to wipe clean my 2008 MBP.  I've deleted all files and programs that are not needed by OS X.  The 08 MBP came with Leopard and I've since upgraded the OX to Lion.  I have the Snow Leonard disk and Lion was thru a download.  What are the next steps to wipe clean the old MBP?  What about log-in info and computer name?  I'm selling the computer to Gazelle, so will they take care of all that?

There are a few things you may have to do before wiping it.
Firstly, de-authorize your Mac with iTunes account.
Remove all associated iCloud data you can.
Remove any registrated Support info https://supportprofile.apple.com/MySupportProfile

  • How to wipe/reset macbook pro with retina display?

I just got my new macbook pro! But I put information from another that I don't want. So how can you wipe without a disk besides bringing it to Apple?

Use the preloaded recovery partition(press Option at startup.)

  • Wipe macbook pro clean

i've been told it's a good idea to wipe my macbook pro clean (restore to factory) before upgrading from snow leopard to yosemite. seems it might prevent problems, provide a fresh start. i'm all backed up. what's next? opinions about doing it at all?

I'll tell you that have your data backed up and simply install Yosemite without erasing the drive.  There is no point to it.
Understand that there may be some applications (PPC based) that will not work with Yosemite, so be prepared for a little house cleaning and updating.
    Ciao.

  • How to reset and wipe your MacBook Pro?

I wanted to restart and completely wipe my MacBook Pro (MD101). I also searched on the internet but couldn't find anything, and I just wanted to be sure whether I was doing the right thing. I have no disk because when I brought my MacBook in store everything was already installed. It would be great if you could tell me how to! Thank you :-) My operating system is OS X Mavericks.

    Back up your system first.
Make sure you have an internet connection (WiFi or ethernet).
Restart your MBP and press/hold the Command+R keys until you see the Apple logo on a grey screen.
At the OS X Utilities menu, open Disk Utility, select your Macintosh HD and click on the Erase button.
Quit Disk Utility and select Reinstall OS X from the OS X Utilities menu. This will download OS X Mavericks from Apple's servers.
After the install is completed and you're at the Setup screens, use Setup to migrate your data and apps back from your back up. Make sure you create the same user account as you had before.

How to connect my macbook pro to an older tv thas has rca cables?

The yellow RCA jack is called "NTSC Analog Composite Video", or "Video" for short. You need an adapter to "Video".
Exactly which MacBook Pro (or which output Display Port) do you have?

hello how to connect my macbook pro to my car cd player

If the CD player has audio line outputs, you could tap the audio input port of your MBP.  I do question the practicality of doing so.

  • How to connect my macbook pro to a computer-to-computer network?

how to connect my macbook pro to a computer-to-computer network?  My home computer is a Window 8 OS.  Thx.

The easiest way, and it may work from scratch, is to share the folders/drives you want access to on your pc, noticing what are the default parameters (eg "workgroup" etc.).
Then, you can connect your mac directly by ethernet, for instance, and, in Finder, go to > Network, you should see the folders/drives. You may be asked to provide user/password.
Don't get confused by regular/crossed ethernet cable, as mac can cross by software, so a regular cable will be ok.
Anyway, either you isd modem has the ability to connect several devices (multiple ethernet sockets, or wifi), or you can buy a router, which isn't expansive.

how to scan my macbook pro virus

Install all System, Applications and Security updates released by Apple.
Install software direct from Application vendors or App store, not from third party suppliers

  • How to know my macbook pro supports usb2 or usb3?

How to know my macbook pro supports usb2 or usb3 ?
And if it is USB 2, will external hardisk which support usb 2 would be compatible with & vice-versa?
    What would be the cons?

USB 3.0 ports were only added to those MacBook Pros that were released in mid 2012 and later.
So you would have USB 2.0 ports on your machine.
But USB 3.0 and 2.0 are 'compaitble,' somewhat - you just won't be able to get the throughput of a USB 3.0 to USB 3.0 connection.
