How to work the fan

everytime boot my laptop , the fan will work for a while, then stop.
even the coretemp rise over 90 degree celsius, the fan still not work. i have to reboot laptop.
my cpu is T2060, mainboard is 945GM.
how to resolve it ,thanks。

Startup your Mac while holding down the C key and inserting your install disc at the same time.
From there you should be able to use the Disk Utility app to repair the startup disk and reinstall OS X.
If that won't work, when you boot your Mac normally, if you do not hear the startup chime, that means your Mac has not passed it's startup diagnostics test. If that is the case, you need to take your Mac in for service.

  • Does anyone know how to reset the fan on a MacBook Pro 13-inch (Late 2011) to it's factory setting speed (Maybe Terminal may help?)

I have a late-2011 13-inch MacBook Pro running OS X Yosemite. (Standard configuration).
My problem is that I downloaded a fan control application and it worked perfectly, but it started to get annoying so I deleted it.
Does anyone know how to reset the fan speed back to factory settings (Maybe a command in terminal?)

    Hello damo1177,
It should help to reset your system's SMC and NVRAM.

  • How Much Does The Fan on Your 2.0ghz T30 Run?

If you have a T30 with the 2.0ghz processor, I'd appreciate it if you could let me know how often your processor cooling fan runs.  Mine seems to run nearly continuously. Does anyone know what temperatures trigger the fan to turn on and to turn off?
I tried Think Pad Fan Controller TPFC). Prior to installing TPFC, the fan ran 5 minutes on, 5 minutes off. After installing then uninstalling TPFC v21 the fan runs nearly continuously. I then installed TPFC v62, but get the same results whenever I let the BIOS control the fan. For example. the CPU is reading 37 degrees C, but the fan is still running. If you do use TPFC with a T30 laptop, and you are happy with it, please pass along the setting you use.
But in any event, I'd like to know what temparature settings turn the fan on and off in a 2.0ghz  t30. The specific model is 266-KU1.
Thanks in adavnce fo the info.

A couple of thoughts to consider here:
    a) TPFC 0.62  is really not meant to be used on machines as old as T30. I use 0.25 and 0.33 on older P4M ThinkPads and it seems to work pretty well.
    b) Do you have the latest BIOS and EC?
    c) How many processes do you have running on a freshly booted XP?
Good luck and let us know.
    Cheers,
    George

  • Running A Little Hot- How To Test The Fans?

I left my Macbook on standby (on but closed) for a few days (not recommended, I know) and when I came back to it, it was rather unduly hot for a computer that hadn't actually been running. I opened it; it wouldn't wake up. I force-shut down by holding the power button, turned it back on, and it started up REALLY sluggishly. Now, it runs, but much quieter than it used to.
I appreciate the silence but a Macbook that died due to overheating is no good to anyone. So before I bring it into the genius bar for dead fans, I wanted to ask if there was any way to force the fans to turn on if they work to make sure they don't. (Or any other method of eliminating "paranoia" as a viable explanation for the silence.)

Perhaps the room was hot. Perhaps my (slightly) defective battery is responsible. Who knows? I could feel that it was hotter than it ought to be given the ambient room temperature. And it appears to have no fans, which is why I want to test them.

  • Comment fonctionne le moteur de recherche d'applications sur le Store? how's working the search engine of App.Store?

    Bonjour,
I am a student librarian making a dissertation on the ipad. I seek to know how the App Store works when we are researching applications, and how  are sorted the applications in the Store and the differents big categories (financial, well-being, etc)
That is to say, if keywords are associated with applications available online, and if so, are they chosen by the author of the app, or imposed by Apple? these keywords are they free or do they partient a reference list? (thesauri, authority list, etc.)
I am also looking for information on the operation of the search engine and proposed applications. are there any criteria such as popularity, rating by users, the number of download and update on the overall quality, etc.? The idea would be to have an overview of what determines which applications are offered in priority and according to what connditions. In sum, the parameters a librarian should take into account to optimize the search for an ideal application for a given need.

  • How to ascertain the fans operate when needed?

I have a MBP 2 GHz, 2 GB Ram. When I run the Apple Hardware test, both the shorter and the extended versions, no troubles are found; I can hear both fans kick in one after the other during the logic board testing part. However, I have never heard them kick in during MBP daily use. According to CoreDuo Temp, the CPU temps goes as high as 78-84 Celsius during more intense operations. Yet, the fans do not kick in.
As posted on the subject, how do I ascertain that the fans will kick in when they need to? How can I check that out?
    Thank you!
    SVT

Someone should really make a program that can let us control the fans, I've noticed my MBP from the outside gets no warmer when playing counter strike source on an overclocked videocard compared to when its idle just because the fans are on. I bet if the fans are on when idle or doing light tasks the MBP would run MUCH cooler.

  • HT4543 How often should the fan turn on while my macbook pro is asleep?

My macbook pro 17" is sitting on the counter, plugged in, with the lid closed. The fan is turning on every couple of minutes for 10 seconds or so. It seems like my battery is draining more when it's asleep than it used to, could this be the reason? Is that normal?

There is a light on the front right hand corner of the case. If that comes on then goes off and repeats every few seconds then the system is asleep. If it never comes on or comes on and stays on then the system is not asleep.

  • How to keep the fan noise down?

I use my 2010 macbook pro to make music every day.
I spend a lot of time in a small room with it and the fans go crazy as soon as i do anything slightly cpu intensive.
The fans come on and are pretty loud, even with some ventilation under the laptop they go crazy.
Is there a solution to keeping them down and keeping the mac cool without being noisy?
