How to wrap an image around a rectangular box?

How do I wrap an image such as this: around the outside of a rectangular box such as this: in photoshop (creative cloud). Step-by-step instructions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Even with the vanishing point tool you're still going to have to do quite a bit of artistry to deal with masking and shading to make it look even remotely like a box.  Not to mention the rounded corners and incuts.  There's no automated way of doing this, it's purely transforming, cutting, pasting, and shading layers; good ole standard photoshop.  I'd think it'd almost be easier to design a box as a 3D model and apply that texture to it.

  • How to wrap an image around a mug in Photoshop CS5?

    I have tried many things like transform -> warp or tried to play with 3D but nothing gave me an effect like this image. Does anyone know a good tutorial or would like to explain to me how to wrap an image around a mug and make it look realistic like this?

    For Photoshop Elements
    Step A
    Select the Type Tool, type in your text
    .. then look at the top of the
    page
    You will see an arc with a T over it
    Click on that and you will be
    able to curve the text
    Step B
    There are 3 items to consider in order for this project to come out
    satisfactorily.
    A. The picture of the coffee mug needs to be properly
    sized, and enhanced
    B. Directions for the text above
    C. The picture for application to the mug needs to be
    configured so that its curvature conforms. I shall give you directions, but the
    values may require adjustment for your particular picture:
    Duplicate background layer, and shut off visibility by clicking on its eye
    icon
    Increase canvas size Image>resize>canvas
    size. Uncheck relative. Enter new values for width & height. Try 120% (+/-).
    You need more "real estate" for the next steps. The checkerboard pattern denotes
    transparency, which you want all around.
    Rotate picture. Image>rotate>layer, 90
    degrees right
    Filter>distort>spherize. Set mode to vertical only. Amount 100%
    Filter>distort>shear. Click center of control line, grab this center
    handle, and pull just a little to left
    Rotate picture back. Image>rotate>layer>90 degrees left
    Copy to clipboard, paste on picture of mug. Position and adjust size with
    move tool.
    Edit: Resolution of picture of mug and of picture to be applied should be about
    the same number. You can check this in Image>resize>picture size before you embark on
    above.

  • How do i take a image of a wine glass and wrap a image around it in indesign cs6

    How do i take and image of a wine glass and wrap another image around it!

    InDesign isn't the correct application for such a manipulation.
    If the "image of a wine glass" is a 2-dimensional image, you may be able to create the illusion of something wrapped around it in Photoshop, but there won't be any automatic solutions. Fundamentally, what you're proposing is a function of 3-D modeling.

  • How to drag an image around?

    hi,
    does anyone knows how to drag a image (.gif or .jpg picture) around inside a scrollPane?
    i have tried to drag shapes (like rectangle) around and it works fine but not for a .gif picture,
    so does anyone have any idea how to do so??
    Thanks!!!!!

    Hi,
    You could solve it like this.
    Draw the image on for example a (J)Component So make sure the component is of exact size as the image.
    Add this component to some container (which uses a null layout), set the location of the component.
    Then add a MouseMotionListener to this component and listen for the the events. This way by using the method: setLocation(Point x) on the component you can move the component around, so the image on the component can be moved.
    I hope this helps you out.

  • I have never used my mac for desktop publishing before and am having some problems.  This sounds really dumb, but I can't figure out how to put a border around a text box.  Also, how do you edit the border, i.e. border color, thickness, etc. Help!

    I have never used my mac for desktop publishing before and am running into some real problems.  How do you put a border around a text box?  Can you edit the border - color, thickness, etc.?  Help!

    I think the best solution is to read Pages documentation, go to Help and you have a long list of options. Pages is capable of quite sophisticated things, some features are above Nisus or Mellel, so it is not so simple to summarize things in a few lines.

  • How to put a border around locked text boxes?

    I have a number of locked text boxes. I need to place a border (a box) around them. How do I do that?

    Govan,
    1. It's helpful to give a full and complete description of your problem when first posting in order to get a complete answer and avoid follow up posts.
    2. There's no need post the same answer twice.
    My answer: The stroke/line around a text box is all or nothing. If you want to eliminate the line between adjacent text boxes you'll have to draw a white line over the offending line to cover it up. Once this is done, select both text boxes and the line (using shift-click or command-click) open the Arrange menu and choose Group (or press Option-Command-G). This will keep the white line in place if the text boxes move.
    Good luck,
    Terry

  • How can I move image in a div box on hover?

    I have an image 50 x 1000 (tall/thin)
    The div is 50 x 500
    Now what I need is for the top half of the image to show only when the div is displayed normally, The rest of the image needs to be concealed.
    But when I hover over the said div I need the image to slide up to show the bottom half within the same div.
    I have toyed with clipping and absolute positioning but no joy
    Thanks in advance ofr any feedback.
    Terry

    I actually updated the code in my post to make the ids into reusable classes, just in case you wanted more than one image, but it looks like you grabbed it before I made the change. Use that newer code with classes and add a wrapper element to contain the now floated <div> slide-containers (the bold parts below)...
    <!doctype html>
    <html lang="en-us">
    <head>
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <title>Image slides in on hover</title>
    <style>
    #wrapper {
        width:150px;
        margin:0 auto;
    .slide-container {
        position: relative;
        height: 500px;
        float:left;
        width: 50px;
        overflow: hidden;
    .sliding-image {
        position: absolute;
        bottom: -500px;
        -webkit-transition: bottom 500ms; /* half a second to transition, might want to up that to 1s-2s */
        transition: bottom 500ms;
    .sliding-image:hover {
        bottom: 0px;
    </style>
    </head>
    <body>
    <div id="wrapper">
    <div class="slide-container"> <img class="sliding-image" src="your-image1.jpg"> </div>
    <div class="slide-container"> <img class="sliding-image" src="your-image2.jpg"> </div>
    <div class="slide-container"> <img class="sliding-image" src="your-image3.jpg"> </div>
    </div>
    </body>
    </html>

  • How do you put rules around a text box ina pages layout template? The inspector tab seems to allow rules on top, bottom or both, but not on all four sides.

    How do you two format facing pages to appear as a single page for a photo spread?

    It seems you have one question in the title and another in the post.
    1. Select the text box. In the Inspector palettes Graphic tab choose Stroke. You can chose Line or Frame.

  • How to wrap text around a table

    I'm new to Pages. The first thing I tried to do was play with tables, because they are the biggest headache in Microsoft Word. However, I ran into a problem right away--I cannot figure out how to wrap text tightly around a table so that the table is surrounded by text on all four sides.
    Does anyone know how to do this? Seems very basic. There is even a button that shows what I want (Text Wrap drop-down --> Around), but when I click on it, nothing happens.

    Peter,
    I can recreate the appearance with five hard returns after the first paragraph, or instead, changing the After Paragraph spacing to 116 pt. Did this with Baskerville Regular 12 pt with line spacing set at 1. Same Arrange settings as shown by OP.

  • CS 4 Wrapping a logo around a bottle

    I am trying to remember how to wrap a logo around a bottle and can't remember how to do it. It isn't working with warp in photoshop. I have the text rasterized since it was created on a PC and don't have the matching fonts on the Mac. Help please? Thank you.

    Several ways but next time you should have them outline the text and not rasterize it.
    But since it is done then you can place the logo image under a closed path shaped like a can and Use Object>Envelope Distort>Make with Top Object
    But before doing so copy the can shape and you might want to fill the copy which you send to the back and fill it wih a gradient and the set the top object with the distorted log to multiply in the transparency panel
    Or use Use Effect>3D>Revolve and then use the Map art Feature
    You have to turn your logo into a symbol but
    if it has an opaque background you have to
    Copy it it and paste in front or paste in back
    then select both and make the top one an opacity mask by going to the Transparency and from the flyout choose Opacity Mask Make
    and the choose clip and invert to make the background transparent then make the art a symbol
    Then map the symbol to your 3D can  as such
    If you need a tutorial I will do a video later but perhaps someone else can explain it better.

  • Wrapping a Torus around a Sphere.

    Hi,
    I have created a Sphere & have successfully wrapped an image around it. I am now in the Process of trying to add Latitudes and Longitudes to it. To achieve this i have also drawn a Torus ( Circle )....
    Will appreciate if someone can elaborate as to how i can now render the Torus over my Wrapped Sphere so that i can emulate / draw Latitudes & longitudes over it....
    Thanks heaps.
    Krish.

    The part that baffles me is that it renders fine in a browser. Seems very strange that it won't render correctly in a mobile device.
    whats baffling about this? your comparing oranges to apples and expecting them all to taste like bananas!
    it seems perfectly logical to me that if you cannot get something to look the same across the board in web browsers (ie6 for instance) (and thats looking at the same resolution) that it WILL render differently in the myriad of phone based browsers, all at different sizes, different levels of css/html compatability. clearly this is obvious.

                     You need to create an image field and in the source choose 'graphic content ; give the name of the variable which has the binary data . and give the type as 'MIME/image'.

  • When browsing a new library that I created, the browser shows dotted lines around grey rectangles, no images. When I double click on a rectangle the image appears. How do I get images to appear in the browser rectangles?

    When browsing a new library that I created and exported onto an external hard drive, the browser shows dotted lines around grey rectangles, no images. When I double click on a rectangle, the image appears, but all the other rectangles remain empty - no image. How do I get images to appear in the browser rectangles? I am viewing this on a second computer (an older intel duo iMac), not the one I created the library on (a MacBook Pro). Both computers have Aperture 3.2.4 installed. When I return the external to the MacBook, all images appear in browser rectangles. What's happening on the iMac?

    You may have a problem with the permissions on your external volume. Probably you are not the owner of your library on the second mac.
    If you have not already done so, set the "Ignore Ownership on this Volume" flag on your external volume. To do this, select the volume in the Finder and use the Finder command "File > Get Info" (or ⌘I).
    In the "Get Info" panel disclose the "Sharing & Permissions" brick, open the padlock, and enable the "Ignore Ownership on this Volume" flag. You will have to authentificate as administrator to do this.
    Then run the "Aperture Library First Aid Tools" on this library and repair the permissions. To launch the "First Aid Tools" hold down the ⌥⌘-key combination while you double click your Aperture Library. Select "Repair Permissions" and run the repair; then repeat with "Repair Database". Do this on the omputer where you created the library and where you can see the thumbnails.
    Then check, if you now are able to read the library properly on your iMac.

  • How to add a border around images posted to Facebook?

    I am using LR 4.1, also usis PS CS5.
    Anyone who uses Facebook to showcase image galleries knows that Facebook changes how images are displayed from time to time.  One month it will be on a black background and the next on a white background.  And then they put overlay's on top of your images and they change things around whenever they wish.  There is not rock solid consistency from Facebook on how they display your images across devices or over time.
    What I am trying to do is to add some consistency to how my images are displayed by adding my own border to my images.  I need some ideas on how to best do this.  The way that I have been doing it does not appear to be ideal and I think someone must have a better way.
    Ideally, I would want Lightroom to add a border for me based on some setting under the export manager.  But as far I know there is no setting to do this?  (Why doesn't lightroom have any border options anywhere yet for anything it exports?  This would be relatively simple I think.)
    Here is the only way I know how to solve my issue.
    First, my other considerations:
    I want to keep my original images in my catalog in tact and as is w/o a border and with layers if it is a .psd file.  I do NOT want to destructively add a border to the catalog images, only the images that end up on Facebook.  I also want to add my watermark image to the final image so that it is done as the last step so that the bottom part of my watermark shows my web site address over the white border on the bottom of the image.  Using a droplet and the watermark in the same step does not work properly because it applies the watermark before it runs the action, not after.
    I have created an action to add a x pixel white border by:
    Merging (flatten) all layers
    Creating a new unlocked background "image" layer
    Expanding the canvas by x pixels.
    Creating a new white filled layer and moving it to the bottom of the layer's pallet.
    Adding a 2 pixel black inside stroke to my image layer and adding a drop shadow.
    I created a droplet from this action and put it in the droplet folder for LR.
    Now for the repeated steps that I am going through...
    Select the images that I want to write to Facebook.
    Export these images to a new folder using the droplet.
    Import the folder of all of these images back into Lightroom.
    Move the new images with borders on them into the correct LR FB publish service.
    Publish the photos using the sharpening and watermark settings.
    Delete the .psd files created in Step #2
    The steps that I would like to avoid are #2, #3, #6
    Or maybe I am going about this all wrong?  Anybody have any better ideas?

    You may find it much easier to use the Migrify plug-in from Tim Armes/Photographers Toolbox which does what you want from within Lr.
