How to wrap up C++ Qt Creator project into ABS/AUR?

Hi,
Is there a more or less standard/streamlined procedure to create a deployable package from a Qt Creator project?

You mean create a PKGBUILD file? You just use the same build commands in the PKGBUILD that you would do in a console. eg. most Qt programs are built with a simple
> qmake
> make
Check out a few pkgbuilds from aur/abs for Qt apps for examples.

How do you import final cut pro projects into imovie?
(like you create a project in final cut but i want to save it, and import it into imovie..

Hi -
Mr. Ross is right, there is no direct way to export your project with all it's elements into iMovie.
If, on the other hand, you have a completed sequence in FCP that you want to export as a finished element, then import into iMovie for you to re-edit or apply titles, music, etc. you would:
In FCP:
Click on the Sequence Icon you want to export in your browser.
Go to the menu File > Export > Quicktime Movie. Give your movie a name a navigate to where you want it stored. Make sure you choose Settings: Current Settings and have the Make Movie Self Contained checked. Click Save.
Close FCP and open iMovie.
In iMovie:
Go to the menu File > Import > Movies and navigate to the movie you just exported from FCP. Choose if you want your movie imported in it's original size, etc.
Click Import. Your movie will be imported into iMovie.
Note that using this method only gives you only the elements that made up your FCP sequence, so this may not give you the flexibility you need.
Hope this helps.

• How do i import an iMovie 08 project into Imovie 11?

How do i import an iMovie 08 project into Imovie 11?

I don't still have iMovie 08, but this method works in iMovie 11.
Go to...Home, movies, iMovie projects, find the project you want and right click and click "show package contents".
That will show a movie file and some other files. Drag the file to the desktop and rename it .mp4.
then go to iMovie, import, navigate to the mp4 file on your desktop and it will let you import to the events section and then you can add it to your movie.
Takes a lot longer to describe than to do. The quality seems to be preserved though I don't know if titles etc get transferred over, kind of doubt it.

• How to use .as files from AS3 project into Flex project

I'm new.
I created a ActionScript 3 project
I created 2 .as files, which put up a Sprite which moved around. It worked fine.
Now, I want to put that onto my web-site.
So I created a Flex Builder 3 project.
I moved those 2 .as files into it.
I added code to access and display the moving Sprite.
But, each attempt gave me an empty screen.
My main confusion is the following:
I have class BaseClass in file 1
and SubBaseClass extends BaseClass in file 2.
Within the Flex project .mxml file, how do I reference the SubBaseClass so that the object will appear?
I tried things like:
<mx:Application ... completionComplete="init()" >
<mx:Script>
<![CDATA[
public function init():void
var myclass:SubBaseClass = new SubBaseClass();
addChild(myclass);
etc (ending stuff)
What do I need to do to make this work
Thanks

• ODI:How to import a version of a project into another project

Hi Everyone,
I have exported an XMl file(exported version file) of a odi scenario.how can i use this file in another project?
I have to import this version in my new project.
Thanks,
Jayant

But is there a way to import the complete list of numbers, so the pictures are listed at once ?
Or is there a script that enables bridge to read the list of numbers.
To my knowledge there is no way to add this file in one time to the find command and I have very less knowledge about scripting. If you know how to use and create theme your goal could be to create one your own but the time and effort is far more then just rate or label the wanted files.
For example, You can have bridge pointed to the folder with all the files, if you have nested subfolder select the main folder and choose select items from subfolders in the view menu, this shows you all the files of the main folder in the content panel.
Select a sort order that corresponds with your list.
Scroll through the files and the ones you need you can either add one star or a label to it. When done select one star or the chosen label and you will only see the files you need.
really a piece of cake and take you no more then 5 minutes... :-0
I´ve seen that bridge comes with a colaborationtool but i didn´t realize this before and now
i looking for a workaround or workflow to keep things easy.
Not sure what you mean with collaboration tool but think you mean the option to reach PS functions via the Tools menu and select batch or photomerge?
This has bin there from the first edition as I try to recall and is very, very useful as there are many other tools in Bridge that will provide you a fast workflow.
I would advice you to buy (and read) the book Real World Camera Raw by Jeff Schewe and Bruce Fraser. There are editions for CS2, CS3, CS4 and CS5. It is written in very understandable language and you will find almost everything there is to know about ACR and Bridge and how to create perfectly and fast workflows

• How Do I "Export" from one Aperture project into another?

I've imported shots into project "A" with both the jpg and the raw file being considered masters. I would like to make a slideshow using just the jpegs but don't want to have to go and flag each individual file. I tried turning the view option off in the filmstrip viewer but no dice there.

simply use the Filter/Search function in the browser of the project and do a text search for .jpg that should show all the jpg images. then select them and choose File -> New -> Slideshow and Check "Add selected items to new slideshow".

• How do I copy clips from one project into another?

Ok, I have gathers a bunch of clips from various events to forma project. Now I want to rearrange everything in a new project. Can I somehow get my first project to act like an event? That way I can grab the clips into a new project window... Thanks

If I understand what you are trying to do, you do not need to "get my first project to act like an event". Merely drag the same clips you used in your first project from their original event location(s) into the new project. Then reorder or re-edit the clips as desired. There is no need to make them into a "dummy" project first.
If you want to have EVERY (or almost every) clip in both the first and new projects, with the second merely being reordered or re-edited, use the *File > Duplicate Project* menu command. Then go to work on the newly duplicated copy of the project. You can rename the duplicated project as desired and reorder, edit, or delete the clips in the duplicated project without dragging them from any event.

• OK....how do I get a Apple DVD project into my iPod?

I have a bunch of old DVD's that I have made......can I transport them to my new iPod? If so....
How?

You can and it works.
go to www.versiontracker.com and run a search for MAC THE RIPPER and HANDBRAKE. Both of these apps are freeware and WORK. Rip DVD to HD using MAC THE RIPPER and then import the ripped VIDEO_TS to HANDBRAKE. Convert the file to Mpeg-4 (NOT H.264 THIS DOES NOT WORK).
Make sure you use these settings:
MPEG-4 video: up to 2.5 mbps, 480 x 480, 30 frames per sec., Simple Profile with AAC-LC up to 160 Kbps, 48 Khz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4 and .mov file formats.
Import to itunes and download to you iPod Vid and away you go.... I have done this and it DOES work. This takes a while (under 2 hrs for entire process) but is much quicker than QTP. Encode takes about 40 mins or so.
Remember... ripping of comercial material is an offence!

• How to copy part/all of a project into another project in PE4?

Is there a way to copy some or all of the workof one projedt ( clips, transitions and effects) into another project. I would especially like to use the same rolling credits in all my video's. I've tried copy/paste and Get Media from a file but I get "file format not supported" when I try to import a .prel (project)

There is a also a Clipboard "extender," ClipMate, that will allow one to Copy/Paste from one Project to another. I have not used it, but many have and few have any issues.
The Export to DV-AVI method is the main one. The only thing to think about is that you will want either a perfectly tight edit, before the Export, or a very loose edit (I'd go so far as to add 02 sec. of Black Video between un-Trimmed Clips), as you will not want to, say replace a Transition, as you would have to Trim even more of your Clips to create the necessary Handles.
Good luck,

• How do I fit a 129 minute project into one 120 minute DVD?

Hi,
I have finished a 129 minute project that I would like to fit on one DVD. If I use iDVD I will probably need the project length to be around 100 minutes. I can't shorten the project itself to less than 129 minutes.
What are my options? I have heard that there is compression software (Toast?) that can put the crunch on a large video. Will this software save my chapter markers in FCE which I set for iDVD? I really want to use iDVD to finish and burn my DVD.
I know that Final Cut Studio has Compressor but the new version doesn't come out until mid-May and this project is due in ten days.
I read on the Apple site about QT codec H.264. Is that an option? Will that codec work with FCE and iDVD?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Brad
imac Mac OS X (10.4.3) FCE 3.5

Take a look at Video and image formats that work with iDVD6. Compressor is not normally a tool that you would use between FCE and iDVD. iDVD prefers DV as input. Compressor outputs MPEG1 & MPEG2 neither of which is accepted by iDVD; and as for H.264 and MPEG4 they would not be good choices as input files to iDVD - you would be recompressing from an already compressed file format back into MPEG2; bad for quality. And despite the fact that Compressor provides more encoding controls than iDVD, you are still looking at basically a 120-minute limit on a single-layer DVD almost regardless of compression settings unless you set the bit rate so very low that you wouldn't like the results. If you want to give Compressor a try, you'll need DVD Studio Pro or another DVD authoring solution, not iDVD.
I still think you only have 3 choices -
- cut enough material so it will fit on a single-layer DVD
- split your movie onto 2 DVDs
- go with dual-layer DVD media (and of course you'll need a burner capable of burning dual-layer media)

• Time is passing and no answers! How can I get my FC 7 projects into FC X ???

The import XML tool is already (aparently) available on the FC X menu, but it won't recognize FC 7 XML projects. Is there any way to do this? Is there any perspective of there beeing a way to do this?
Thanks

Converting your FCP7 projects to XML "works" in the loosest sense of the word. If your projects are fairly simple (without keyframes or transitions) or if you don't mind rebuilding effects, XML will transfer your basic timeline into FCPX.
The hitch is...the XML you get from FCP7 still isn't the kind of XML that FCPX needs. You need to convert XML (exported by FCP7) into FCPXML (importable to FCPX).
I've used CatDV Pro.
But in the end: I've also given up trying to cross projects over. Too much complexity is lost, and the headache isn't worth the return.

• How to use additional libraries in a project

I am trying to call an existing EJB from page bean. And for the life of me, I can not figure out how to add additional libraries to Creator project.
Is it supported at this stage?

Right click on the References node in the project navigator and select: Add New Library Reference. In the subsequent dialog, specify the path to the jar file you wish to include. This library will be automatically added to the application classpath at design time and deployed with the application when you run the project.

• Incorporate existing iMovie project into new, longer one

I have an 8-minute iMovie project, with lost of careful editing (multiple sounds tracks, transitions, etc.)
I need to incorporate it as one section in a longer iMovie project I'm now working on. But when it becomes the one section of a larger project, I have to shorten it in half, to be only 4 minutes.
Two questions:
1) How do you insert an existing iMovie project into a new one -- bring over all the pieces at once, with everything in tact (music, transitions, etc.)?
2) This is a little more complicated. Since I have to boil down the 8 minute piece to 4 minutes, I'd rather not have to go back into the original and do painstaking editing -- which would involve rejiggering transitions, music fades, and all kinds of things. I'd rather export it to Quicktime, bring that into the new, larger iMovie project, where I can crop out parts I don't want and tie togehter the remaining pieces with transitions.
My concern: when I export original 8 minute project to Quicktime, doesn't that compress it? If so, and I bring that already-compressed Quicktime into new, longer iMovie project, when the new one is finished and I export it out to a DVD (end product) -- won't that be re-compressing the already compressed portion?
Thanks for any insights.

KishanKishan... Perhaps it is your choice of words but it seems like you are trying to hide your implementation from the customer? This customer will blindly run a script you deliver without even the ability to examine your work? That is a very trusting customer... one that wishes to not participate in any review (even high level) of your solution.
Indeed... OMB will work... If you need more control you could consider using the Java API provided as well... However, if this is a customer with which you've established trust they could also provide you with VNC/ssh -x/other remote access. After all, even if the script runs perfectly 100 times at your location there still might be issues with deployment at theirs. It would be tough to build an OMBPlus script to "troubleshoot" these types of things, yes?
Good luck...
