How to write a CD from LR3 in Windows?

I was helping a newb learn LR3 and everything went well until I tried to export from her library to a CD. It works fine on my Mac, I just click export and then choose the cd/dvd option. On her PC the only option we had for exporting was to her hard disk, no matter what kind of disc, CD or DVD we inserted, LR3 never gave the option of writing to it. I finally "solved" it by exporting to the desktop with the "open in explorer" option checked and then we just burned the files from the desktop to the CD via explorer. I searched the forums for this but can't find anything although I vaguely remember something somewhere sometime that this was an issue. What gives?

The http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Lightroom/3.0/Using/WSEC4146E5-B4A5-4e2c-A453-DF1C8FA21DED.htm l sais "Note: Export Files On CD/DVD is not available in the 64-bit Windows version of Lightroom.". So this is not considered a bug, but a current restriction.
Personally, I wouldn't want LR to write directly to disc. I would much
prefer it to make an ISO image. That way, I can make as many copies as I
want, when I want. Also, if there were an error writing to disc,
wouldn't you have to start the export process all over again? If you
have an ISO, a mis-burn won't hurt the exporting process, or cause you
to need to export again. Burn it, then delete it, if you want or need
the space back.
Then again, I've never had occasion to want to burn an export to disc,
only to upload to Flickr, or to use  in other ways.

    You should be able to uninstall iTunes by going into Control Panel on your computer, finding iTunes in the list of your installed programs, highlighting it, and clicking Uninstall at the top of that list.

  • How to get ProxyEnable value from registry using Windows

    Hi,
    I have developed a webservice which check for a new version of software. Webservice works fine if the user does not use a proxy otherwise it raises an error "connection timeout....".
    I have found a lot of examples how to read a proxy from windows registry. It works fine. I have a problem with getting value for ProxyEnable. ProxyEnable is REG_DWORD type and I always get null.

  • How do I shut down from the login window in mountain lion using the keyboard

    how do I shut down/sleep/restart from the login window in mountain lion using the keyboard?

    Hi Thomas, thanks for your reply.
    Yes in standard start-up as it is and in recovery mode I still get the same message about Disk Utility being unable to repair the disk so I should back-up and restore.
    Some posters have said that booting into safe mode should unmount the installer and allow rebooting back into Lion, that would allow me to back-up the files properly, as my last back up was (as is often the way) not too recent.
    But I think your suggestion looks more likely to be he correct way to do it, and I'll take the hit on any data that I may lose.
    Thanks again.

  • HOW TO WRITE AND READ FROM A TEXT FILE???

    How can I read from a text file and then display the contents in a JTextArea??????
    Also how can I write the contents of a JTextArea to a text file.
    Extra Question::::::: Is it possible to write records to a text file. If you have not idea what I am talking about then ignore it.
    Manny thanks,
    your help is much appreciated though you don't know it!

    Do 3 things.
    -- Look through the API at the java.io package.
    -- Search previous posts for "read write from text file"
    -- Search java.sun.com for information on the java.io package.
    That should clear just about everything up. If you have more specific problems, feel free to come back and post them.

  • How to write individual frames from a media file to a file.And also play it

    Hi,
    How do i access indivual media frame and save it to another file. One way is to use Cut.java, but i am unable to cut the frames repeatedly.
    I want to Seek an individual frame in the media and then write the frame to a file.
    regards.
    devendra.

    FrameGrabbingControl allows you to grab a frame. but you cant directly write from that frame. Do i have to create a dataSink.
    Actually i tried to do one thing that is, I used the cut program. But from that i can not repeatedly take out frame as media data.

  • How to Write a file from hex format to another format

    hi I am trying to create a file (IBM AFP-printer format) from the hex file which i have created after reading that IBM afp file. Now i have to do some changes in that hex file data and store it back to the same format.
    I have tryed storing it using:
    Writer out = new OutputStreamWriter(outputStream,"Cp1252");
    but it is taking hex format only.
    I have checked encoding of afp file by this code
    File inputFile = new File( "C:\\ACode\\new2.afp" ) ;
              FileInputStream inputStream = new FileInputStream(inputFile );
         InputStreamReader in = new InputStreamReader(inputStream);
    System.out.println(in.getEncoding());
    it is showing Cp1252 only.
    But i am unable to store it back to same format
    Thanks

    I don't really know what the IBM APF stream format is, but I suspect that your approach is not right. If you really want to read and write raw hex bytes, then do not use readers and writers; instead use pure streams. The reason is that readers and writers are designed to deal with character-oriented data, and will automatically perform translations on input and output.
    On the other hand, if you could find the correct encoding/decoding software for the IBM format in question, well then readers/writers would be fine, and you could do all of your "internal" work in unicode.

    Here's one thing you are doing wrong:} catch (TransformerConfigurationException e) {
    } catch (TransformerException e) {
    }With this code, if an exception occurs then you are guaranteed to know nothing about it. At the minimum do this:} catch (TransformerConfigurationException e) {
      e.printStackTrace();
    } catch (TransformerException e) {
      e.printStackTrace();
    }

    sir i need result in this format 01:00 not in 1 format.The name is Billy and not "sir". :-)
    Is "01:00" a string format or an elapsed time format?
    The number that the above code returns is decimal hours. So a number value of 1.5 means 1h30m or 1:30 or however you need to render that.
    And that is the question. Is this a rendering issue? Must the result be rendered in a specific format?
    If so, then this is not a SQL or PL/SQL issue. The server returning decimal hours is acceptable. The client (e.g. C#/Java code) needs to decide how to format and render this meaningful value. Keep in mind that if the sever code returns "1.30" or "1:30" for example, these are string/text data and pretty much meaningless. And it does not make sense for server code to return meaningless text strings to the client.
    If the client expects a duration and not a numeric data type, then the server code should return a value of the INTERVAL DAY TO SECOND data type.
    This data type specifically exists to contain duration values between to dates or times.
    In this case, the server code will expect the host (C#/Java) variable to be of data type INTERVAL DAY TO SECOND. The server code will look something as follows:
    SQL> declare
      2          earlyleavers    interval day to second;
      3  begin
      4          earlyleavers := NumToDSinterval(
      5                                  (to_date('1900/01/01 11:00:00','yyyy/mm/dd hh24:mi:ss') -
      6                                  to_date('1900/01/01 10:00:00','yyyy/mm/dd hh24:mi:ss') ) * 24,
      7                                  'hour'
      8                          );
      9
    10          dbms_output.put_line( to_char(earlyleavers) );
    11  end;
    12  /
    +00 01:00:00.000000
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
    SQL>An interval-to-string conversion function is used (with default formatting) to "print" the interval value via DBMS_OUTPUT. The default format includes days and a sign to indicate a positive or negative interval. Look at the SQL Reference manual for the format masks that can be used.
    The important thing is to treat data values correctly using the most appropriate type. And intervals should either be a decimal day/hour/minute numeric type, or an actual interval type.

    I am tempted to answer that question with one simple sentence - " using printer".
    I understand that there is some underlying concern, just can't guess what it is yet. May be you can elaborate...
