How to write an .fds file using Matlab

Hi there,
Is there a way to use Matlab to create a ".fds" (Digital filter design file) so that it can be used in Labview. Alternatively, is there a way to create some arbitrary filter in labview to get this .fds file? More specifically, I am trying to implement some 11th order transfer function and using the "Create a Filter" VI in the labview examples to convert my code to Labview FPGA code. I am using the PXI-7833R (FPGA).
Thanks for the help,
Herrick

Hello Herrick,
I would recommend using the NI Digital Filter Design Toolkit as it has functions for creating filters, reading filters from files, and for generating LabVIEW FPGA code.  Information regarding this tookit can be found at:

  • How to write as XML file using java 1.5

    hi all,
    i am trying to create an XML file using java 1.5. I took a XML creating java file which was working with java 1.4 and ported same file into java 1.5 with changes according to the SAX and DOM implmentation in java 1.5 and tried to compile. But while writing as a file it throws error "cannot find the symbol."
    can any body help me out to solve this issue.......

    //error is occuring here Since write method is not available in the Document class
    xmlDoc.write(outf);
    outf.flush();

    Hi,
    when I look in the JDK1.4.2 specification I don't see any write method in the Document interface.
    However, your solution is the Transformer class. There you transform your DOM tree into any output you need. Your code sould look something like this:     TransformerFactory tf = TransformerFactory.newInstance();
         // set all necessary features for your transformer -> see OutputKeys
         Transformer t = tf.newTransformer();
         t.transform(new DOMSource(xmlDoc), new StreamResult(file));Then you have your XML file stored in the file system.
    Hope it helps.

  • How we write into properties file using get class method

    Hi
    I want to set some value into properties file using given code
    can any one please tell me how i can do this.
    property file
    setting.properties
    Name     =     abc
    and code I use is
    java.io.InputStream oInputStream = this.getClass().getResourceAsStream("Setting.properties");
                   Properties obj = new Properties();
                   obj.load(oInputStream);
                   String myName = obj.getProperty("Name");
                   System.out.println("myName :"+myName);
                   obj.setProperty("Name","def");
                   FileOutputStream oOutput= new FileOutputStream("Setting.properties");
                   obj.store(oOutput, "");
    thanks.

    You can't.
    If you have properties that change dynamically, you should not be using a properties file that sits in the classpath, you should be using Preferences, or a properties file that sits in some application or possibly even user directory, but not one in the classpath. The proper way to do this, would be to have a properties file in your jar (or otherwise in your classpath) that contains the defaults, and another one outside of the classpath in one of the twwo above mentioned areas, then, you read the default one only if the other doesn't exist, or you read the default one first, then read the other overwriting the values from the defaults.
    Don't forget to save the properties again (right after loading if you loaded, or always load, the defaults) after every change.

  • How Do I write an XML file using Java?

    Hello there!! to everyone reading my post.
    I have this project I need to do, and I have no clue where to start, I was wondering if you guys could help me out.
    I need to know how to write an XML file using a Java Program, but without using a Third party library.... just using java native APIs.
    I will probably take the values to construct the file from a form.
    I will certainly appreciate if you could post some sample code for me.
    Thank you very much in advance..

    Hello there!,
    I have some doubts about the Tutorial I am currently reading. correct me If I'm wrong, but the section "Write a simple XML file" teaches you how to do so using a text editor. I need to create my XML file from a running Java Program written by myself, that takes the values to build it from some variables.
    If I'm totally wrong about what I'm saying, could you please point me to where I can find the information of how to do what I'm asking for, inside the tutorial.
    Thank you very much,...
    sincerely.

    Hey, I couldnot find any xsl usage inside pipeline pair in the links given by you. Do you have any links that gives a sample example.I could not find any links with examples. I will send you a simple config jar demonstrating the use of XSLT resources/transformations.
    secondly should MFL doc replicate the name(s)of the nodes of the source xsd:I'm not sure If I understood your question.Can you please explain?
    Ex: My database schema looks like:

    excel.but i want to know how to format it.
    thanks
    JoveIf I understand your question correctly you need to know the format of a .csv file for use in an Excel spreadsheet. A .csv file is a comma-delimited file so all that you need to do is write your data elements to the file with commas in between them. Having done something similar in the past, let me warn you that when Excel is reading your file, it uses some characters other than commas as field delimiters. for example, / : and ; are treated as commas. To defeat this, you will need to surround fields containing those characters in double quotes.
    Hope that helps

  • How to write output to file in flash

    hi all experts.
    I want to monitor a specific link. Lets say when it goes down, i want to write the following to a file in flash called link_mon.txt
    link down <show clock output>
    When it gets back up
    link up <show clock output>
    I know how to write the applets and use sla tracking for monitoring, i just want to know how to write the output(user defined) to a file in flash ?

    What you want to do is not possible using applets.  You can write CLI output to flash using the redirect command:
    action 1.0 cli command "enable"
    action 2.0 cli command "show clock | redirect flash:/output.txt"
    But you cannot include your own custom text.  For that, you will need to use an EEM Tcl policy.  Within the Tcl policy, the code to write the output to flash would look like:
    if { [catch {cli_open} result] } {   error $result $errorInfo}array set cli $resultset fd [open "flash:/output.txt" "a"]set output [cli_exec $cli(fd) "show clock"]puts $fd "link down $output"close $fd

  • How to write a messenger with using java?

    May I know how to write a messenger with using java? The messenger need included two functions which are file transfer and add users to join the conversation.
    Thank you.

    Ok, so you need to start from the beginning, the requirements, is it a swing (i.e. GUI) app, web app, console, etc...?
    As stated by sprizor making an IM client is no easy task, you need to both implement the server side and the client side, which both communicate with each other, file transfers are also quite complex, and even maintaining a multi-user chat can be quite difficult.
    If you are after a Web Based app, then you will need to look into Push technologies, like Grizzly Comet which is a nice wrapper for the NIO java stuff:
    https://grizzly.dev.java.net/
    Good luck...

  • Write in a file using FileConnection

    Hello, I have to write in a file using the FileConnection API (JME).
    So far, I could write it, but I could not find out how to append in the file.
    Here is the code:
    FileConnection fc = (FileConnection)
    Connector.open("file:///test.txt");
    OutputStream os =  fc.Open(OutputStream);
    OutputStreamWriter osw = new OutputStreamWriter(os);
    osw.write("test");
    How can I add new data at the end of the file?

    Well, I really can't find a method I could use, so I read the file and put it in a buffer, then I write it all.
    I will let the code for anyone who needs:
    +try {+
    FileConnection fc = (FileConnection) Connector.open("file:///j9/test.txt");
    if (!fc.exists())
    fc.create();
    InputStream is = fc.openInputStream();
    InputStreamReader isr = new InputStreamReader(is);
    +char[] c = new char[(int) fc.fileSize()];+
    isr.read(c);
    OutputStream os = fc.openOutputStream();
    String str = textField.getString() ',' + textField1.getString() + '\n';+
    os.write(new String(c).getBytes());
    os.write(str.getBytes());
    os.close();
    is.close();
    isr.close();
    fc.close();
    stringItem1.setText("It works");
    +}+
    +catch (Exception ex) {+

  • How to read a text file using Java

    Guys,
    Good day!
    Please help me how to read a text file using Java and create/convert that text file into XML.
    Thanks and God Bless.
    Regards,
    I-Talk

         public void fileRead(){
                 File aFile =new File("myFile.txt");
             BufferedReader input = null;
             try {
               input = new BufferedReader( new FileReader(aFile) );
               String line = null;
               while (( line = input.readLine()) != null){
             catch (FileNotFoundException ex) {
               ex.printStackTrace();
             catch (IOException ex){
               ex.printStackTrace();
         }This code is to read a text file. But there is no such thing that will convert your text file to xml file. You have to have a defined XML format. Then you can read your data from text files and insert them inside your xml text. Or you may like to read xml tags from text files and insert your own data. The file format of .txt and .xml is far too different.
    cheers
