How to write each element of a set to the excel sheet?
I am trying to iterate through each element of the set and write each of them to an excel file? Can Somebody help me to achieve this?
Code snippet is:
Iterator<String> nameIterator = names.iterator();
for(int size = 0;size<names.size();size++){
row = mdm_lastLoginDate.createRow(size);
//cell = row.createCell(1);
while(nameIterator.hasNext()){
String setName = nameIterator.next();
cell = row.createCell(1);
cell.setCellValue(setName);
System.out.println("setName:->"+setName);
mdm_lastLoginDate.autoSizeColumn(size);
above code prints each element in the console but not getting each value in the excel file. I am only getting the last value.
Thanks & regards
Amita

How to set the Data types of the Excel sheet while exporting details to it.
Hi All,
We are trying to export some order details to the excel sheet from a jsp. It is working fine when the local system language is set to English.
But when i change it to Russian. the details like Line Numbers(e.g: 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 and so on... ) are getting changed into some other data type(e.g: 01.янв, 02.янв, 03.янв and so on....).
i guess this is mainly due to some data type mismatch, so i tried setting all the possible charset for response in the jsp, but could not succeeded.
This is only for the details which or of decimal format, working fine for the details which are in String type. like Description, Item name etc...
As it is high preference issue for our client, Please help me in this regard ASAP.
Thanks & Regards,
Praveen Reddy Bhi Shiv..
Its not an OAF page but it is from Apps only (i.e.Oracle iStore).
we tried writing this:
<%response.setContentType("application/vnd.ms-excel; charset=UTF-8");%>
<%response.setHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=downloadOrders.xls" );%>

How to specify the excel sheet you wanted while using Active X
could anyone tell me how to name or append to specific the excel sheet? i do not know where and how to set the path for it.
Hi Gorka, could you describe a bit more, on the setting of page before or after adding? Do you use a string or numeric to set the parameter, and if i want the datas to be set to say, workbook (project.xls), sheet 2, how would you set it? I tried to use index, rather than add method, and when i set the index to 0, the datas will be at sheet 1, and for other index numbers, there would be an error of code 1.

How to modify data in the excel sheet.
Hi,
I have a requirement like ,
i have a excel file which contains only one column (all the data in the single colume )so now i have to modify that excel sheet and have to make some more columns based on my requirement.
eg:
column1
mumbaikolkata
delhichennai
mumbaikolkata
this shud be converted like this
column1 column2
mumbai kolkata
delhi chennai
mumbai kolkata
can i directly modify the excel sheet based on my requirement without using internal tables in between.
like excel ->internal table-> modified internaltable-> excel.
Edited by: Sravani Bellana on Dec 18, 2008 5:46 AMHi sravani,
true that we need to specify the rows and columns,
I have worked on such applications i shall describe the possibilities and then you can find the necessary option,
1) Function module:SAP_CONVERT_TO_XLS_FORMAT .
it needs
file path p_file type rlgrap-filename and
i_tab_sap_data (the internal table name).
2) Function module : MS_EXCEL_OLE_STANDARD_DAT
it needs
file path p_file like RLGRAP-FILENAME
data_tab (int_data "internal table with data)
fieldnames (int_head "internal table with header)
3) if the download application is a one time then go for the following option:
write the program to display the data in the internal table on the screen.
execute the program.
type %pc on the command bar and try downloading using the options displayed.
hope any one of these work out.
get back if you till have any clarificatrion
thanks

How to trigger the workflow from the excel sheet
hello friends,
my problem is that i should trigger the workflow from a excel sheet which contains a list of appraisers and appraisees.how to do this. can anyone help on this.
thanks.Hi Murthy,
If you are asking if a workflow can be started on R/3 while in Excel - may be possible if you can develop some fancy macros that can make RFC calls to an ABAP function module. I won't even attempt to travel that route.
Save the excel sheet as CSV or Tab delimited file and process it using ABAP. You can use the WAPI function module SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT (Rel 4.7)to start the Workflow by raising the relevant event. In earlier releases, see FM SWE_EVENT_CREATE.
Please do keep in mind there could be performance and response time issues for dialog users of the system if you are going to start several workflows using a report program.
Cheers,
Ramki. -

How to average each element in an array
I have data from a Gage Card that I would like to average. I am tuning a laser over a 50 mA range and for each 1mA increment in current, I am taking 100 scans. Each scan consisting of about 200 points. I cannot average more than 10 shots using the Gagecard so I would like to capture 100 scans, and average them to reduce noise. Currently, I have my capture vi inside of a for loop which repeats 100 times and each scan writes to a file, but I would like ony 1 scan (the lower noise averaged one) per current increment.
How can I average each element of 100 arrays and output this to an array?
Thanks for the helpIt sounds like you want to average element 0 across 100 arrays and make that element 0 of the new averaged array. Then average element 1 across 100 arrays and make that element 1 of the new array ... ?????
How are you working with your 100 1-D arrays now?
What you should do is make a 2-D array where one dimension is 100 (for the number of individual arrays) and the other dimension is how many elements are in those 100 1-D arrays. Then you can use for loops with auto indexing to break the 2-D array down into each row or column, do the average of that array, and autoindex on the other side to build back up into the new 1-D array of averages. You may need to to a transpose array going into your for loop in case the arrays are indexed in the wrong direction.

How to write an element in a JTable Cell
Probably it's a stupid question but I have this problem:
I have a the necessity to build a JTable in which, when I edit a cell and I push a keyboard button, a new Frame opens to edit the content of the cell.
But the problem is how to write something in the JTable cell, before setting its model. Because, I know, setCellAT() method of JTree inserts the value in the model and not in the table view. And repainting doesn't function!
What to do??
ThanksHi there
Depending on your table model you should normally change the "cell value" of the tablemodel.
This could look like:
JTable table = new JTable();
TableModel model = table.getModel();
int rowIndex = 0, columnIndex = 0;
model.setValueAt("This is a test", rowIndex, columnIndex);
The tablemodel should then fire an event to the view (i.e. JTable) and the table should be updated.
Hope this helps you -
I bought a new Windows 8 PC and want to get Elements 8 from my old XP installed on it. I bought it online and still have the installation code but dont know how to install it.
No harm in trying provided you've got your Elements 8 serial number.
Download the trial version from http://prodesigntools.com/direct-download-links-for-lightroom-3-and-photoshop-elements-8.h tml
Follow the Very Important Instructions on that page first BEFORE you click the download link.

How to compare each item in a Stack with the next one??
I am trying to compare each string value with the next one in a stack.
I think I am doing something wrong when I store the poped string in a temp?
Object is:
-----to read in a stack and compare each element. We are looking for an "adj" next to a" NP*".
-----if we find a "adj" next to a "NP*" then we need to remove the "adj" and push the "NP*" on a new stack.
-----if we find something other than an "adj" next to a "NP*" then we just need to push that item on the new stack
we continue through the stack until it is empty.
-----once we have checked the entire stack for "adj" next to "NP*" and changed them all, we need to send the new stack back to the method for another test.
-----this time we are looking for a "det" next to a "NP*"
-----if we find
---------remove the "det" and change the "NP*" to "NP"
there are more test after that one but, if I can get here I think I can get through the rest.
In all this is a grammar checking program, checking for correct english.
thanks for the help, my mind feels like mush a new perspective will help,
steven
Here is what I have so far:
public void structureCheck(Stack s, int wordCount, boolean inOrder)throws EmptyStackException{
Stack orderStack = new Stack();
int parseCount =0;
boolean display = false;
int count = 0;
if(inOrder == false){
for(int i=0; i<wordCount;i++){
String temp = ""+s.pop();
if(temp.equals("n")){
temp = "NP*";
orderStack.push(temp);
parseCount++;
structureCheck(orderStack,parseCount,true);
if(inOrder == true){
parseCount= wordCount;
System.out.println("parseCount "+parseCount);
for (Enumeration e = s.elements(); e.hasMoreElements();){
for(int i=0; i<parseCount; i++){
String temp = ""+s.pop();
String temp2= ""+s.pop();
String temp3= ""+s.pop();
System.out.println("temp "+temp+" count "+count);
/*temp = temp;
System.out.println("temp2 "+temp+" count "+count);
temp = temp;
System.out.println("temp3 "+temp+" count "+count);*/
count++;
if((temp.equals("adj") & temp2.equals("adj") & temp3.equals("NP*"))){
System.out.println("temp "+temp+" temp2 "+temp2+" temp3 "+temp3);
temp="NP";
orderStack.push(temp3);
parseCount++;
/*else{
orderStack.push(temp3);
parseCount++;
//structureCheck(orderStack,parseCount,false);
System.out.println("parseCount= "+parseCount+" inOrderStack= "+orderStack);
}This code is different from yours. For one thing, the first part, where inOrder is false, is not included because you did not post what behavior that is supposed to perform. The code below does what you posted...it puts some Strings into a Stack, then parses the Stack. If adj is followed by NP* then adj is removed. Then the new Stack is parsed to find det followed by NP*, and det is removed while NP* is changed to NP.
import java.util.Stack;
import java.util.Vector;
public class Test {
public static void main(String[] args) {
Stack stack=new Stack();
Stack stack2=new Stack();
String[] s={"no","adj","NP*","adj","not","NP*","adj","NP*","dumb","det","NP*"};
for(int i=s.length-1;i>-1;i--) stack.push(s);
stack=structureCheck(stack,"adj","NP*","NP*");
for(int i=stack.size()-1;i>-1;i--)
System.out.println(stack.elementAt(i));
System.out.println();
stack=structureCheck(stack,"det","NP*","NP");
for(int i=stack.size()-1;i>-1;i--)
System.out.println(stack.elementAt(i));
public static Stack structureCheck(Stack s,String tofind,String tomatch,String tochangeto) {

String str=(String) s.elementAt(i);
if(i<s.size()-1 && str.equals(tomatch) && ((String) s.elementAt(i+1)).equals(tofind)) {
i++;
orderStack.add(tochangeto);
} else
orderStack.add(str);

How to Restict number of rows to download data in excel sheet
hi,
my requirement is that i m showing top 50 seller in my dashboard. but when we click on download to excel then all 500 rows are downloading. i want to restrict downloading all data and want show only displayed data of dashboard in excel sheet.(ex if 50 top seller are selected then only 50 rows is downloaded.)
Edited by: 941334 on Jun 18, 2012 6:15 AMHi,
Yes.my suggestion is you set each report design analysis page itself(just to -->edit analysis-->look at the table propeties -->here u can set it how ever you want(50 rows, 500 rows etc..analysis visible page) to show/download it as per your requirment.
Changing instance confic will affect entire report.for controling this you can set dashboard/prompt filter then you control data downloading.

<ReadRequestBeforeProcessing>true</ReadRequestBeforeProcessing> </XMLP>
3. The default size is 8 MB, you can increase to the size you want. If you want to set unlimited, then replace 8192 with 0 (zero) but it’s not recommended (performance may impact) then Restart BI Service and test .
Thanks
