How to zoom

How do you zoom a e-mail. I hit the zoom option in the tool bar but it just shrinks my window. Some e-mails I get have really small text. Is there a way to make it bigger?

Mike,
I have to go to Format > Style and choose Bigger or Smaller. I don't have this option under the View menu. I know, of course, that I can use Command + or Command -.
Regards,
Steve M.

  • I want to set a maximum size for pictures when FF shows websites. How can i do that? NO I DONT MEAN "HOW TO ZOOM".

I have FF 34 but this problem has been there for a lot of earlier versions. On many webpages there are pictures that cover my whole screen, and I want to set maximum size for showing images on webpages.
I ONLY wanr to change the maximum size of the images, AND IAM NOT asking about how to zoom the webpage.

Do you want to hide large images or merely make them smaller by setting a max-width and max-height?
You would probably have to use JavaScript (bookmarklet) to achieve this reliably.
There are bookmarklets to make large images fit in the window to avoid a horizontal scroll bar
You can try this code in the <b>userContent.css</b> file (adjust the max-width accordingly).
    <pre><nowiki>img { max-width: 1024px !important; height: auto !important; }</nowiki></pre>
The customization files userChrome.css (user interface) and userContent.css (websites) are located in the <b>chrome</b> folder in the Firefox profile folder.
*Create the chrome folder (lowercase) in the <xxxxxxxx>.default profile folder if this folder doesn't exist
*Use a plain text editor like Notepad to create a (new) userContent.css file in the chrome folder (file name is case sensitive)
*Paste the code in the userContent.css file in the editor window
*Make sure that you select "All files" and not "Text files" when you save the file via "Save file as" in the text editor as userContent.css.<br>Otherwise Windows may add a hidden .txt file extension and you end up with a not working userContent.css.txt file

  • How to Zoom in and Out on PDF files in Safari?

Safari help is not helpful since it gives inaccurate information on how to Zoom in and Out on a PDF file that has opened in Safari. The help says to control click the page and choose the zooming level you desire. However control clicking the PDF file in Safari brings up a save page box. I tried some of the other keys with clicking and they did not work. Thanks in advance to those who helped me save a PDF file to the desktop so I can view in Preview.- But often I just need to be able to zoom in to read the tiny text that is displayed.

Thanks for getting back to me-
the website I am trying to zoom into a PDF on is:
    http://www.beedocuments.com/software/Timeline/screenshots.html
I click on one of the screenshots- it loads into a safari window.
When I control key click on the image- a pop up menu comes up asking me to save the image to deskotp- add it my image library and 2 other save options. No zoom in or Zoom out. I only have an apple pro mouse and my track pad- so right clicking isn't an option.

  • How to Zoom and Pan in the program window.

    Hi,
I have been using scale to adjust larger than 4K image sequences so they fit 1080 and 4K output. I want to be able to zoom in and pan/tilt the program window so I can see the edges of the program window close up, so I can see to make a fine adjustment of scale. I want to be able to adjust scale precisely so I don't lose a single pixel, or include any black around the edges of the images. Of course I can't see the edges close up enough while looking at the entire image, to really see if I have scaled too much or too little. I know how to zoom in the program window, but how do I pan over to the side and bottom edges ? Without being able to pan I instantly lose the edges of the frame when I zoom in the program window.

Perhaps this will help it make sense to you.
I am taking tme lapse sequences shot on a DSLR and putting them onto Blu Ray disks for viewing. I also outputted a 4K file to try to play at Best Buy on a 4K television. The images are  4928 X 3280 pixels, which is larger than 4K, and much larger than 1080. One of the advantages of using these large images directly and not reducing them in Photoshop first is that I can have a time lapse zoom, which is very difficult to achieve otherwise. I can also pan and tilt. Another advantage is not having to reduce thousands of images three times, once for 1080, once for 4K, and once for stills..
I usually work with 1080 video, and animated 1080 still sequences from Maya, or standard definition video. This is the my first opportunity to work with higher resolutions.
Generally, for my first evaluation of these DSLR stills, i wanted to show some of them fully without cutting any off. This means there is a black border onthe sides because the DSLR stills are 2:3 instead of 9:16. For this I have used a scale of 32.6% for 1080, and 66% for 4K. For some sequences i wanted to just completely fill the frame. For this I used 38.9% for 1080, and 77.9% for 4K.
My assumption is that Premier should do scaling as well as Photoshop does, and so  I have let Premier do the work, saving me a lot of extra work. First i take all the original images and process them from raw to tiff, for the day exposures. Then i process them again for the night exposures. Then i bring them into either my 1080 project, or my 4K project. I put the night pictures above the day pictures on a separate video track. I use opacity to dissolve from the day to night processed images as night falls inthe scene.
Two sequences I shot are of the night sky during the recent meteor shower. After watchign the video I see i caught three instances of persistent meteor trails distorting in the sky. I was able to zoom in quite a bit, and track the position, because the sequence is of greater resolution than the native 1080 format. It gives me a second change at composition, or the ability to zoom in on something interesting that happens in the scene.
It seems to me that the only reason i would want to first process the images down to 1080 in Photoshp, would be if the quality of the scaling was higher in Photoshop.
When i adjust the scale, I am adjusting the scale of an image that is 4928 X 3280, in the program monitor which is probably only well less than 1000 pixels on my screen. It would be nice if I could not only zoom, but pan in the program window, so I could more accurately adjust scale by looking at the edges. So if there is no other way to do this visually, I am suggesting adding the ability to pan and tilt in the program monitor to accomplish this. Sure I could figure out the scale mathematically. I could still end up adding a row of black pixels, or cutting off a row of image pixels, due to some error such as rounding errors, or starting with 1 instead of zero, or vice versa.

  • How to zoom and pan with Edge animate?

    Hi,
I have been trying to make a project with Edge Animate, it is all about an image, but I want to be able to zoom and pan the image. Can you please send me an example if there is any around? or Can you explain me how to zoom and pan with Edge Animate?
    Thanks,
    Guasch

I am having this same issue! I am searching through forums on what tools to use to create a good zoom and pan on an image that contains hyperlinks an other things, developed in Adobe Edge Animate.
So far, here are some solutions I have come across:
    http://craigfrancis.github.io/zoomify/
    http://zynga.github.io/scroller/demo/dom.html
These two seem to be the closest solutions to what I'm looking for. Now I just have to integrate the javascript into my adobe ege animate composition. Hopefully that won't be too hard. Are there any suggestions from the adobe community on how to do this?

I am wondering how to zoom into a video in iMovie '09. For example I want to
zoom into a certain part of the video. Is there any way to do this???

    Yes.
If you want to see the zoom, use the Rotate, Crop, Ken Burns Tool and select the Ken Burns effect. You can set the starting and ending rectangle for your zoom.
If you want to go directly to the zoom, use the Rotate, Crop, KenBurns Tool and select Crop. Set the rectangle to be where you want the zoom.

  • How much zoom is zoom?

Apple just says "double tap to zoom in" but it doesn't say how much zoom you actually get. And yes, you can use the pinch to scale also, but up to what point? There doesn't seem to be any answers on the web, so I thought I'd try an experiment. I took an image I made of Jupiter from a Powerpoint file. The image was 640x480 in resolution, so it initially shrinks it to fit the Touch's 480x320 pixel screen size (see previous post). Using a ruler and a magnifying glass (hey, I'm on vacation, and with a new toy!) I measured the size of the Jupiter image to be 0.45cm. I then double tapped, and the image went to 1.4cm - about a zoom factor of 3. I could use the pinch to get it to 1.5cm, but that was the limit.
OK, onto a bigger file with a moon shadow on Jupiter (this was 1020x986 in size). Again, initial size was 0.15cm, after double tap it was 0.45cm. *So it seems like double tapping on the Touch results in a 3 times digital zoom.* However, this time I could use the 2 finger stretch to further zoom the image, up to a size of 0.7cm! This is because the initial image was bigger to begin with. So it seems like you can get a maximum zoom factor which depends on two things: the built-in 3x, and the additional amount due to the larger initial size which was packed in to fit the base image.
Note also that you can zoom at the maximum further, but it springs back down? This may be due to it reaching the right width, but then dropping back to accomodate the height.

it needs to be saved to MP4 as it is going to be output to DVD and for YouTube also
If you're going to DVD do NOT make an MPEG-4 file first. The DVD specification uses MPEG-2 so if you encode to MPEG-4 first, then have too re-encode to MPEG-2 for the DVD you'll be taking a double hit on quality. Export a self-contained or reference movie (File->Export->QuickTime Movie) at current settings and then use the resulting file in iDVD, Toast or whatever DVD encoding/authoring/burning application you want to use. Since DVD is standard definition only, your HD footage will have to be downscaled quite a bit.
For youtube, export using QuickTime Conversion to make an H.264 file for uploading.

That's quite handy David. Thanks to you And Tom for helping me on this.

  • How to zoom in with Adobe Flash Player 12.0.0.77

I like to play a game on Neopets called Destruct-O-Match.  Until two days ago, I could zoom in on the game (make it bigger) by right clicking with my mouse.  Now that option no longer exists, so the game is too small to see comfortably.  How do I zoom in and make the game big enough to enjoy using Adobe Flash Player 12.0.0.77?

Thanks Mike, but I already did that.  Until two days ago, I would maximize
the screen using Control +, but the game would still be small, so then I
would zoom in with a right click of the mouse.  However, apparently there is
a new version of Flash Player, 12.0.0.77, and there¹s no option of zooming
    in by right clicking.
I figured out how to make the game bigger by reducing the resolution of my
computer, but I can¹t play long because it makes me dizzy.
