I have already gotten the emails moved from the Dell Laptop running Windows to the iMac and have them in Outlook on the iMac. What I am needing to know is how do I get the folders from Windows Outlook to Mac Outlook so everything will be organized on the iMac like it was on the Dell Laptop.

What program are you using for email? The answer will vary based on the program. Also, are you referred to archived email folders or is the email account configured for IMAP?

I would recommend starting over this time using Setup Assistant. Because you are migrating from a PPC machine I would migrate everything EXCEPT applications. You should manually install your apps, this will give you the opportunity to udate the ones that need it and I'm sure there are many. You may even apps that won't run on Intel based machines so why migrate them at all? You can use the Setup Assistant tips beginning at "Second chance...." You can either restore from your old machine or from one of it's backups. I think you'll see it's a pretty clean process, something you passed over (I'm not sure why) when you turned on the new iMac for the first time.

I transferred all the data from the son-in-law`s 4s onto my Mac as described in the article but for some reason the photos he had on his phone did not seem to transfer across as far as I can tell because once I did the transfer back to his new 5c phone there were no images there. He tells me everything else he had has come across. The only other thing he said was that he lost his place on the App Candy Crunch. The app has appeared on his screen but he has been sent back to square one to start all over again. I talked to him today and he is not too bothered now about that although I think he was at level 247. His only concern now is his images which were many of his children etc. which he would still like transferred to his new phone. I have not done anything yet to his old phone as of yet until I solve the photo problem. What I did do was to download all the images to a separate file on my computer so at least they are not lost completely and are still viewable on the 4s. Any ideas as to why they are not showing up on the backup I did to iTunes?
Apologies for being so long winded about this but I wanted to give you as much info as possible to consider.

1.) I had iTunes installed on a Windows XP PC
2.) My iPad was synched to the library on my Windows XP PC
3.) My Windows XP PC crashed - motherboard failure
4.) Gave up on PCs and Windows. Purchased a new 21.5" iMac 3.60 GHz Intel Core i5 a couple of weeks ago
5.) I still have my old Windows XP hard drive - NTFS formatted - with my data on it, I believe intact. However, no way to access it because the PC is toast
6.) I have created a Bootcamp partition on my new Mac and formatted it with NTFS. Had to install Windows 7 because I could no longer find or access Windows XP installation media
7.) Assuming I can get my old XP hard drive installed into another PC to access my data, how do I move my iTunes library, backups, music, purchases, archived apps/material from the XP machine to my nex iMac?
8.) How do I "deauthorize" my iPad on the old XP hard drive and "authorize" it on my new iMac?

Yeah, you can do it on a Mac. Its very easy and take a short amount of time. Just make sure everything on it is backed up.
Insert the drive. Open Disk Utility. Go to Erase. Under Format, select the FAT option. You can give it a name if you want to, under the Name part, but its not necessary. Lastly, click on Erase. The process should take less than a minute but it varies on the drive and computer.

What type of mail account do you have - POP or IMAP? What email application do you use? Until you answer these questions it will be difficult to advise you.

iTunes doesn't have any automatic way of re-creating your directory structure in terms of folders and playlists in iTunes. You will have to drag each music folder to a playlist and then arrange these in folders inside of iTunes (which I warn you can can slow down iTunes a lot). I guess the once chance of speeding this up will be if somebody has written an Applescript to do it, but I don't remeber seeing any anywhere.
