How update firmware on Nokia Play 360?

Having problems keeping the Nokia 360 properly paired to my Surface Pro 3. I am constantly having to remove and re-pair the connection. It's a real pain.
I have tried holding in the power button and the - button to wipe all paring, and start over. But I still lose the connection everytime I switch video's or turn of the computer.
There MUST be a firmware update for this thing. I would be glad to do this myself, but I dont' know where or how to find this, if there is one.
Any other suggestions would be great. It's one of the best peices of hardware I have ever owned.

I've had two discussions with Nokia support regarding the playback dropout problem. The first person said it was my phone, but after reproducing the problem from another WindowsPhone, an Android tablet, and two laptops, I called Nokia again. The second person told me to take my speakers to a Care Point where they would be sent away to Nokia for firmware updates.
I had to drive twenty-five miles to the nearest NCP. They were very reluctant to take the speakers saying that they didn't know anything about sending them away for firmware updates, they usually do firmware updates themselves, accessories are always a problem to get fixed, it might take weeks, and so on with excuses and problems.
I left the speakers with them. Six weeks later I called the shop and they said that they hadn't sent them away because Nokia had given them the run-around regarding what to do in this situation. SIX WEEKS! Why hadn't they called me? More excuses.
I drove to the shop and took back my speakers, it was obvious they didn't want to bother helping.
So I still have my two Play 360 speakers with faulty playback when paired for stereo output. £220 spent and not fit for purpose.

    If you purchased it before the promotion started then unfortunately you are not entitled to claim one. If you feel that is unfair you should contact the retailer and/or Nokia care in your country.

    Okay, you are using a MacBook so I am not sure how much help I can give since I use a PC with Vista. In the latest version of Ovi Suite, once the update file has been downloaded and the installation starts, the computer will give your prompts that the phone is disconnected via USB, the phone restarts, the screen flashes, etc. I just leave it alone and after the progress bar on the Ovi Suite ends my phone is updated. I currently have v40. The free maps is available only to v31 and above for 5800 if I remember correctly.
    If possible please use the Ovi Suite instead of PC suite (at least in my experience it works better), and do not in any way touch your phone during updates, even if it "disconnects" from the computer.
    However regarding to your query as to why it is not available via the *#0000# method (or FOTA), updates are generally released through NSU before FOTA, sometimes with as much as a month in difference because the files in FOTA are not the entire update file but rather extractions from it. For example, the v40 FOTA is 17mb (according to someone who said he had it already), while the v40 I downloaded through Ovi Suite was 128mb.

    If it says "Nokia Prototype" and "Nokia Property", then it could be a prototype phone that was sold illegally (whomever gets them are supposed to return them to Nokia in order for the device to be destroyed after testing and after final devices become available).
    A Nokia repair center will not fix or support prototypes. They also do not have any kind of warranty.
    Or, someone might have just changed the startup message as a joke and it is not an actual prototype at all.
    You can see if it is a prototype, also if the serial number (so called IMEI, International Mobile Equipment Identifier) starts with zeros (0). Type *#06# on the standby screen and the phone will display the IMEI.
    If it really is a prototype, then you should go back to whomever sold it and request a refund of your money, and then go and buy a supported, released device, instead.

The blue indicator in system audio panel will appear for a second as I slide the bar for internal mic but then it disappears. Is there a fix?

    The sound seems very faint but can here static on playback.

    I am trying to install OS 9.2.1 in an old G3 which at present has no OS in it.
    The screen says it needs updated firmware to do so. When I try to follow instructions, it tells me the CD is locked, which is obvious since it is an installation CD. Other instructions seem to assume there is already an older OS in the machine to update. Anyone with an idea of how to break this log jam?

    Welcome to the Discussions, and Happy Thanksgiving!
    The only G3 that will give you a Firmware Update warning when trying to install OS 9, is a Blue & White G3 tower.......
    If that's what you have, then getting OS 9 onto it is a bit of a Catch-22, Can o' Worms, P.I.T.A., or whatever other favorite sayings you may have for a difficult job........

    Very astute observation, and 100% correct.
    The OS that is assumed to be on the B&W's drive is MINIMUM 8.5.1, and therein lies the Catch-22.....
    A BOOTABLE 8.5.1 Install CD is NOT available as a RETAIL CD........
    The Retail CD is 8.5 install, with the 8.5.1 UPDATER, which is also on the CD.......
    The 2nd part of this problem is that the Firmware Updater (which is on the OS9.1 CD) MUST be run from the booted Hard Drive with 8.5.1 on it.........
    Your options are:
    1. Find a set of the ORIGINAL SOFTWARE CDs that shipped with a Blue & White G3, and install the original OS from there.........
    2. Do what I had to do. Take out the Hard Drive and move it to an older Mac (i.e. Beige), and install OS 8.5 on it, and update it to 8.5.1, take the Hard Drive out and re-install it into the B&W again, boot to it, and do the Firmware update at that time.........
    Note that NO Mac can boot to an EARLIER version OS than it shipped with when new, which is why you will have to use a beige to install 8.5.1 to that hard drive........
    As a secondary note, to avoid more problems, get a new Pram battery (1/2 AA 3.6V).
    Available at any Radio Shack.

    Aside from voiding the warranty on a phone that has probably been out of warranty for at least a year, why is it against the forum rules? Symbian is open source now.... or didn't you get the memo?

    Try running these songs through MP3 Validator to see if there any issues.
    If nothing else, convert them to another format such as AAC via iTunes using the instructions in this Apple support document.
